About Seo Copywriting And Its Importance

November 22, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Search engine optimisation (SEO) copywriting is the technique of writing effective text that is not only viewer friendly but targets specific search terms by placing keywords/search terms strategically within the text and other on-page elements such as title, headings, meta tags etc which optimises the chances of your webpage being ranked highly by search engines such as Google, MSN, yahoo etc because of it.

The dual purpose of copywriting for SEO is therefore to clearly increase search engine visibility which in turn increases targeted traffic to your webpage.

While it’s tough enough to come up with great web copywriting, SEO content writing is given the additional task of pleasing the search engine spiders i.e. trying to match with the criteria (algorithm) of search engines, which are always fluctuating, thereby changing the rankings of web pages accordingly.

While Search Engine copywriting is therefore not a sure shot way of keeping stable rankings, owing to constant algorithm changes made by engines now and then, it is however quite successful.

It is recommended by practitioners of copywriting for SEO to keep the word count to 250-400 viewable words per page with at least two targeted search terms used in on-page elements, as well as, strategically placed within the text.  Having relevant textual content and enough back-links i.e. links from other website’s to yours are other elements included in this method.

SEO copywriting services are aplenty but having said that it is a very expensive option. Being a specialized field in itself, hiring SEO copywriting services do not come cheap especially when there is stress on each page which can target only 1-2 search terms, the process is long and tedious.

In the competitive rush to gain top rankings in search engines, SEO copywriting in India has proved successful to a number of websites.

SEO copywriting in India is not only relatively economical but also comprehensive. It’s advisable that one take up the services of reputed SEO copywriting companies in India that provide website marketing and positioning solutions to increase your rankings.

What Questions Should You Be Asking A Copywriter Before Hiring Them?

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

A good copywriter can help your business flourish but with the myriad copywriters all competing for your business, just how do you know who you should or shouldn’t hire?
In such a situation, knowing the right questions to ask is not only extremely useful, it’s absolutely essential.
1. Do you have examples of successful copy?
Every copywriter has to start somewhere and therefore some won’t have any successful campaign samples to refer you to. While these people obviously need a break, can you really afford to take the chance on somebody who may or may not be good at their trade? Your business is relying on the person you hire to produce copy that will draw buyers in and get your products or services moving. With this in mind, hire somebody who can show you successful copy for the medium you require and, preferably, provide you with references.
2. How long do you require before project completion?
Every project is different and only after giving your copywriter a full and thorough brief will he or she be able to provide a delivery date. However, it’s important that a deadline is agreed upon and that it falls within your requirements. There’s no point, after all, in receiving copy after the launch of a new product.
Always insist on:
A) A date for the first draft to be delivered, and
B) A delivery date for the final copy.
3. How much do you charge and what are your payment terms?
Some copywriters charge by the hour, others by word count and yet others by each individual project. In my experience it’s best to aim for an agreement on a “per project” basis although this does entail your giving the writer a thorough brief of the job before he or she can be expected to quote you. Always remember that you get what you pay for.
It’s also important that you agree on payment terms. Some copywriters require a percentage of the fee “up front”, others after delivery of the first draft and yet others require nothing until project completion. You should also agree on how and when payment should be transferred.
4. Are any necessary revisions included in the price?
Because a copywriter can’t possibly know your products or services as well as you do, there’s little chance of your receiving a perfect first draft. Of course, it’s your job to ensure that your copywriter has enough information to be able to put together copy that’s in keeping with your requirements but some editing will undoubtedly be necessary. Ensure that the fee quoted includes at least two revisions although expect your copywriter to set a deadline for such revisions; nobody wants to leave a project hanging open indefinitely. However, should you change your brief then it’s only fair that your copywriter bills you for any extra time spent working on the copy.
5. What information do you need in order to produce my copy?
For a copywriter to be able to produce his or her best work it’s important that all necessary information is provided beforehand. Your copywriter should be able to tell you exactly what he or she needs before the assignment begins, thus saving you the time and hassle of answering numerous questions “along the way”.
6. Will you be doing the work yourself?
Project managers often assume that the person they’re dealing with is the person who will write the copy but this isn’t always the case. If your copywriter is sub-contracting work you should ask to see copy previously written by the person producing your copy. A middle man generally tends to mean that some information is also more likely to be misunderstood (think Chinese whispers).
Other questions to ask are:
Have you handled this type of assignment before?
What size and type of business do you specialise in writing for?
What type of assignments do you handle? (e.g. web writing, press releases, brochures, speeches, etc)
Do you provide design work and/or graphics?
Of course, good old-fashioned “gut feeling” also come into play. A good working relationship is important – if you don’t feel comfortable with your copywriter then it’s probably best to look elsewhere.

Succeeding in SEO

November 12, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Your Keywords are Number 1!!

Use targeted keywords and take them to design your web pages around them using a 6% ratio. Long tail keywords for SEO are the ones that work the best. If possible incorporate them in your Title Page as well.

Your Content

Have good quality content. No fluff! Write articles and post them. Information is what drives the search engine. Always update your website on a weekly basis for maximum SEO.  Products and informative articles that are on topic to your niche combined with your keywords equal higher rankings.

Article Marketing

Write articles and submit them to several places such as Ezine Articles, GoArticles, Articles Plus, Hubpages, and Squidoo.  In the resource box, where available, add your links along with the description of what you offer .Don’t forget to use the power of social sites as well. Many places allow you to post your articles. Use the power of RSS feeds to add more exposure. Have your articles be informative with current up to date topics. Your word count needs to be at least 300 to 500 words. Check each site for their requirements.

 Link Building

Use niche related sites to build backlinks that are related to your specific keywords. Be careful of your anchor text so that you links are clickable.

Google Analytics

Analytics is the measurement of those that visit your website. The reason that I have included this in here is because it is imperative for you to use this to increase your sales, visitors, and SEO. I decided to describe all factors that are of greatest importance here.

What do your customers do when they visit your website? Using this information can increase your sales and SEO rankings.

Where are they coming from? Understanding this will guide you in your niche efforts.

Are they returning? You need to use different technique in this process and if you are not receiving returning visitors, then you need to reexamine you SEO factors.

What actions are the visitors taking? Develop ideas and determine what goals you want to achieve. Follow through with a plan.

Keywords, Again Your Number 1!!! If your keywords are not producing results go back to the beginning and rework the process.

Setting Up a SEO Blog

November 6, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you want to promote your online site or your web page, the best way for you to do it is through SEO. Blog contents are also optimized by search engines, in order for visitors over the Internet to know that your blog exists. However, you have to remember that its content does not need to appear technical or boring; just to get it to rank first page within search engine results.

It is for a fact that search engines think highly of sites which are incorporating keywords along with their content. You can also include keyword phrases within your blog. But you should put into mind that the words do not sound forced. If you are going to put in keyword tags, the whole sentence should sound casual. Even if you rank well within search engine results, but if your blog content sounds dull; no one would want to read it any further.

Another way for you to appeal to the interest of readers is to create a blog that does not seem to go on forever. This is possible when the word count of the content ranges only from 200 to 300 words. This way, your readers will not get bored reading long pages of what not sentiments. On the other hand, the headline of your blog content should be catchy and interesting. Although you also need to prevent from sounding too commercial. Furthermore, avoid making your blog sound like a spam. People might think that you are just trying to kid them. The best headlines or blog titles are those which are short; and have a snappy ring to them.

Lastly, for higher ranking results within UK, SEO blog contents should be kept simple. At the same time, these should also be interesting, focusing on topics that easily catch the interest of a lot of traffic.

7 Ubiquitous Organic SEO Myths You Must Avoid

October 29, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

The Internet Marketing is a world, full of webmasters who vie amongst themselves to topple each other in terms of their website rankings on several popular search engines including Google. They deploy a dozen of so called organic SEO tricks to their online marketing campaign to achieve better ROI and improve their bottom-line. However, quite a few organic SEO companies are embroiled in some organic SEO myths. Let’s take a quick look at what keeps some organic SEO companies in the shadows.

Organic SEO Myth #1 – SEO Copy Should Be 250 Words

One of the most prevalent SEO myths among the organic SEO companies is the number of words on the web page. It is believed that short copies rank better than longer copies. There are no such established rules that substantiate this supposition. However, a word count of 250 words with an ideal keyword density of 2% is, usually, universally acceptable.

Organic SEO Myth #2 – Google Sitemap is Inevitable

An organic SEO company need not worry about the Google sitemap on their website as Google sitemap no longer influences the rankings of a website. However, having a Google sitemap is not a negative factor. If your website is well-designed with a crawler-friendly navigation, you should be able to rank pretty well on that.

Organic SEO Myth #3 – URL Submission to Search Engines is Vital

Gone are the days when this practice was very helpful in bringing good results in terms of higher search engine ranking. URL submission to search engines is no longer effective now. However, submission to search engines is not bad at all for any organic SEO company.

Organic SEO Myth #4 – Header Tags Can Boost Organic Rankings

Header Tags such as H1, H1 and H2 should be used only when they are required to complement the webpage from design stand point. There is very little evidence that corroborate the popular belief that Header Tags influence the search engine rankings of an organic SEO company.

Organic SEO Myth #4 – PPC Ads Influence Website Rankings

Many webmasters wrongly take PPC Ads as a supporting camping to their organic SEO campaigns. However, it is not at all true that running Google AdWords affect any organic SEO campaign, either positively or negatively. It has absolutely nothing to do with the website rankings of any website.

Organic SEO Myth #5 –  Meta Keywords Must Be Used on the Webpage

One of the most hyped organic SEO myths is using the meta keywords on the webpages. Meta keywords are usually used because it is not practically possible to use all keywords on the webpages. Hence, by using the meta keywords that do not find their place on the webpage, we increase the chance of the webpages to rank higher. Hence, it is unnecessary to use all the meta keywords on the webpages.

Organic SEO Myth #5 –   Website Should Be Optimized for Long-Tail Keywords

Long-tail keywords are not very popular, whether with the organic SEO companies or searchers. Since they are not competitive, no body searches for them, ranking for them is simple. However, it doesn’t make sense to rank higher for keywords that are not very popular or competitive in the organic SEO industry.

How To Lose All Of Your Twitter Followers With Just One Tweet

October 29, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

After being quite active on Twitter a few months now, i’m definately starting to see it’s amazing advantages for my online business.

However, there’s one thing which often goes overlooked, and which I will explain here…

The Twitter Auto Direct Message.

This is not a rant, but more of a help article, as I want YOU to be as successful as you possibly can.

So let’s begin…

The ‘Auto Direct Message’ is one of Twitter’s most powerful tools for Internet Marketing, yet most people use and abuse this terribly. This is one of the BIGGEST reasons that it’s frowned upon, as well as the fact that people hate the impersonal approach to social networking.

And that’s what it is, a social networking website. Not a constant advertising billboard. People will hate you for it and unfollow you.

However, if you phrase it right by using good copy, you’ll see:

1. An increase in conversation between you and your followers
2. An increase in click-through rates for your links
3. A resulting increase in conversions.

Don’t forget, you only have around 115 characters (depending on what Auto Direct Message service you use), so make every word count!

But what is an example of a bad Auto Direct Message?

Anything which asks a user to take action before you’ve even attempted to get to know them. Here are a few common examples.

1. Hi! Check Out My Blog >>
2. Hi! Buy My Latest Product >> [insert affiliate link here]
3. Get this now, only 10 left!!111
4. Capitalising Every Word Like This To People For All 115 Characters

…And a good Auto Direct Message?

Anything which tries to involve the follower, whether it’s through conversation, or complimenting their products/services/personality. Remember, make it personal!

1. Hey, thanks for the following! What are you currently working on?
2. Hey, nice Twitter page! How are you?
3. Hey, nice to meet you! Do you own a blog I can check out?
4. Thanks for the add! YOU ROCK!!!

But why should I ask about other people if I’m the one who wants attention?

In short, the more attention and value you give out to other people, the more attention and value is returned. Think of it as social karma.

So ask yourself… Do you use an Auto Direct Message on Twitter, and what is yours currently set to? Does it make these obvious mistakes? Change it to reflect this article and start seeing results immediately!

Although, this is only one of many things that people do wrong on Twitter, and don’t even realise it!

See You Soon,
- James.

The Write Way To Better Website Traffic Results

October 26, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

When you are trying to develop a successful website, you soon realize that your website content is very important. Websites with great content are more likely to have great traffic results than those with lousy articles and headings. The more interesting and diverse your content, the better traffic results you will have.

When trying to get the right mixture of content, you may become frustrated. This is especially true if you are not a strong writer. Use these tips to help you find out more about website content and the decisions you can make to create the best text on the web.

Care about Content

Many times, website operators do not give content much thought. This happens more frequently than one might expect and the repercussions are immediate. If you want better website traffic results, you should always be sure that you make content a priority. Whether you write the content yourself, or hire professional writers to develop it for you, it should be quality writing.

Someone who has passion for the subject should write it. The more passion the writer has, the better the writing will likely be. Usually, this is the website owner and operator, because no one will want the site to succeed as much as this individual. However, if you are not a great writer, you can always hire professionals to help you with the task.

Quality over Quantity

When it comes to website content, there are obviously guidelines. When trying to fill up a specific amount of area on a website, it may be necessary to set limits on word count. As a whole however, you should always strive for quality over quantity. Having too much content can drive viewers away because they are likely to get bored. Knowing exactly how much content you need for your site can also be a challenge.

You should always view your site like a potential visitor would, which means that many of your decisions may be made by instinct. You will know when you have too much content on your site. The main goal is to have specific and direct content that is not too wordy. When there are excessive words in the content, you will quickly lose your audience. Be direct and to the point with your writing and you will be more efficient overall.

Natural Flow

Like discussed before, much of the content decisions for your website will be done with instinct. You need to be sure the content flows naturally. Natural flowing content leads easily to other issues. One subject should flow into the other seamlessly. The same is true with the placement of other website functions. When you are writing, consider the placement of submit buttons or other links on the page. This can help you develop content that looks great on the page as well as sounds great to the reader. If a piece feels unnatural when its being written, it will likely look uncomfortable to the reader and will be a disaster on your website.

Proofread

Some of the most unnecessary mistakes made with website content writing are grammatical. Websites that contain articles with spelling and grammar mistakes come can look ridiculous. If you want your site to be taken seriously, you should always be sure that your articles are proofread many times. This will help ensure you are delivering information that is intelligent and complete. It may help you to read your text out loud, in order to hear what it actually sounds like. Although it may seem unnecessary, you will find that the response will be greater when your text is without mistake.

As you can see, there are several important aspects to developing website content that will boost and maintain your website traffic. You should focus on passion, quality, and flow of your content. If you would rather not worry about these issues, hiring a professional is the way to go.

However, if you are up to the challenge, try it yourself. Just relax and begin writing. Let the content come to you without effort. Try different approaches with your writing and you will quickly learn what works best for your site and its traffic. As long as it feels right to you when you read it on the site, it will likely look great to your sites visitors as well.

3. Use Search Engine Optimized Content on your Blog

Finally, you will want to make sure your blog is search engine optimized so that those who do a search for keywords will be able to find it online. Much of what is discovered online comes from the search engines. By creating a search engine optimized blog, you will drive more people to your website and your blog. This is one of the best blogging secrets that you can not only use for your blog but your website as well.
