Follow along and learn the simple secrets to increase website traffic with a few clicks of your mouse. RSS stands for “really simple syndication” and it serves as a tool to keep visitors updated to a websites changes without the person having to go back to the website.

Generating Your RSS Feed

If you have a wordpress blog (the most common blogging platform) then you already have an RSS feed built in to your blog. You can find your feed at your domain.

If you have another type of blog check the user guide of your blogging platform to find out where your RSS feed is located or how to generate one. For more details visit to www.inside-the-minds-of-winner.com .Unfortunately most internet marketers don’t know the first thing about using their RSS feed to increase website traffic. There are some very simple steps that you can take to dynamically increase your traffic absolutely free with your RSS feed.

The first thing that you should consider doing is setting up a Feedburner account so that they can manage your feed. Feedburner is a free service that gives some basic traffic stats, keeps track of how many people have subscribed to your RSS feed and best of all makes it really easy for visitors to subscribe to your feed.

After you have setup Feedburner to manage your feed they will give you a URL for your feed. Take that URL and put it on every page of your blog so that anytime someone clicks on the link they will have the option to subscribe to your feed.

Two More Steps and You’re Done

Once your feed is setup and the URL is on every page of your blog the only thing left to do is to submit your feed to some feed directories. For more information logon to www.ultimate-internet-marketing-tricks.com .A feed directory is a site that lists several feeds from all over the web on one website. Feed directories can not only bring in tons of new visitors to your website but they also provide good backlinks to your website. Backlinks are needed for any website to rank well in the search engines.

There are two feed directories that stand head and shoulders above the rest in the online world. Often time’s just submitting links from these two directories can rocket your site to the top of the engines which will obviously help you to increase website traffic.

The first of these two is Feedage. Feedage requires you to setup a free account but once you do you can submit as many feeds to them as you want. It’s very simple and only takes a few minutes to setup a free account and submit your feed.

The second directory is Feedagg and they don’t even require you to setup an account. You simply click on the “add feed” link and input your information. It’s really that easy.

That’s all there is to making the most of your RSS feeds to bring in extra free website traffic to your website. Follow the simple steps laid out and watch your traffic numbers steadily increase.

Can A Self-referencing Article Be Used To Generate Web Site Traffic?

November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

There are all kinds of methods used to generate web traffic. One very good traffic generator is article marketing.
The way it works is that you first determine what you want search engines to find, look for the good keywords about the subject, and then write an article that revolves around a your keyword or keyword phrase, post it strategically on the web, and allow the search engines to it. Usually authors include a resource box at the end of the article that contains a link back to the website that you are marketing.
Places that you can post your article include your own blog, and articles directory that is on your website, commercial article directories such as http://goarticle.com, or http://ezinearticles.com. You can also post articles on some web 2.0 pages (like Squidoo), etc.
Additionally, you can offer to let your readers publish the articles in their newsletters or on their websites. It may seem that the publication in the newsletter would not really help you. However, you must realize, that many publishers post archives of their newsletters on their websites.
The reason that they will republish your articles, is because they need or want to provide content to bring their websites to life. So the better your articles, the more likely it is that at least some marketers will take your article and publish it giving you credit, of course, and if you set your article up right, you’ll also get a link back to your website.
The idea is that you can generate web site traffic that appears in the organic areas of search engines. The organic areas of search engines comprise the most direct matches to your query. They are what the person asking the question looks at first. The person making the query may also look at the pay per click ads along the right side of many search engines, for these may also be relevant to the query.
Thus, it can be seen that both the organic and pay per click matches can be used to generate traffic to your website. The main difference is that with organic matches you don’t pay even a penny, whereas with pay per click items, you pay every time somebody clicks your ad.
You can, of course, use software to help you create your articles or to help you generate traffic in other ways. For example, the way I am creating this very article is by dictating it using Dragon NaturallySpeaking, which is so good, that I barely need to touch the keyboard at all.
While I’m a pretty fast typist, I can go nearly three times faster simply by dictating what I want to communicate. The software converts it into text right before my eyes. Even with the corrections, I go faster by dictation than I do with the keyboard.
I also use keyword research software to figure out what keywords and keyword phrases I should be using to generate web site traffic. It’s not always simple, but sometimes it’s unbelievably simple. And for me, dictating the words while looking at the keywords gives me a lot of confidence as I create my articles.
I’ve touched on a number of different ideas in this article. I also included a number of different keyword phrases in the same article. So the question that I have, because this is something of an experiment, is whether or not the search engines, as well as my visitors, will find articles like this useful.
After all, it is the utility of an article that makes it worthwhile, at least to this writer.

9 Foolproof Ways to Get FREE Traffic to Your Website

November 3, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

So you made the first step. You have your first eCommerce or Affiliate Website up and running and you’re ready to make money online. Now what? How drive traffic to your website?

The basic theory of website optimization is quite straight forward. You visit the popular website directories (Google, MSN & Yahoo) and fill in the appropriate information. You enter your URL address, a brief description of your website and the related keywords or keyword phrases and you’re done. Piece of Cake! Just kick back and wait for the search engine spiders to crawl your site and “bam,” you’re on page one.

If it was indeed that simple, the search engine directories wouldn’t have the need for a second, third, or 953rd page for your designated search results. Everyone’s website would be on page one. The theory of website optimization and the applied practice thereof are spectrums apart.

Realizing this, you now have two options at your disposal to drive traffic to your website. These options are paid or organic (free) traffic.

You can start up a PPC (pay per click) campaign on Google Adwords. There are many internet Gurus who swear by the benefits of paid advertising. Admittedly, your website will start getting hits literally within minutes of your campaign going live. But there is absolutely no guarantee that your revenue will exceed your advertising expenditures.  If you don’t know what you’re doing, you could burn through a lot of money very quickly. And you might only recoup of fraction of those expenses in generated income.

What if you are just getting started and don’t have or can’t risk the money to invest in a paid advertising campaign? If this is the case, then free traffic may be exactly what you need to get your internet business going.

Your first thought might be, “Come on now. Nothing in life is free.” And you would be correct in this assumption. Think of generating free traffic to your website like investing sweet equity in a property you’ve just purchased and are hoping to turn a profit on. You don’t have the money to pay professionals to come in and patch the walls, paint, rip up the nasty old carpet and the ever dreaded linoleum. So you roll up your sleeves and go to work. And why would anyone in their right mind want to do all this? Because you know that the property is worth the time and energy you will put into it.

Generating free website traffic can be approached in much the same way. Your investment may not be monetary, but it will require time, energy, and above all, creativity on your part. You need to learn to think outside of the box! There are several methods that can be utilized in generating sweet equity traffic to your website.

The Fundamental Principle of Organic Traffic:

Organic traffic is based on building back links to your website. The more numerous these links are and the more relevant they are to your website’s particular niche, the higher your ranking in the search engines. Sounds complicated, right? In reality, it’s following a step by step process until you obtain the desired results.

Think of it like building a staircase. The objective of building any staircase is to get to the top of where it is you need to go. You simply build one step at a time until you have reached your destination. The primary difference is that you are building arrows in cyberspace that point back to your website rather than an actual physical staircase.

Nine Foolproof Methods for Organic Link Building;

1. Web Directories

One of the oldest and most established ways to increase free traffic to your site is by submitting your link to website directories. There are hundreds of directories on the internet. Every time you add your link to a directory, you are increasing your chances of generating free website traffic to your site.

2. Article Submission Sites

Submitting ezine articles is an effective way to establish extremely relevant links to your website.  In addition to accomplishing the objective, the reader can visit your website directly from the author’s box.

Ezine @rticles is by far the most established of the internet ezines. Their readership is not to be ignored. There are, however, may other ezine article websites on the internet. The fact that you’re on one of them proves my point. For a comprehensive listing simply Google ezine directories.

3. Social Bookmarking Sites

In recent years, social bookmarking sites such as Reddit, Stumbleupon, Furl, Del.icios.us, and Digg have gained immense popularity on the internet. You can bookmark virtually anything you have posted on the internet on these sites (including your own ezine articles) provided you do not violate the site’s terms and conditions. Fellow users of these sites then have the opportunity to link to your bookmarks if they find the subject matter interesting. This, in essence, can escalate into a form of viral marketing.

4. Social Networking Sites

Myspace, Facebook and the up and coming Twitter are incredible resources for establishing links and generating free traffic to your website. Compete.com recently ranked twitter as the third most used social networking site surpassed only by Facebook and Myspace.

Posting bulletins (or tweets) on these sights and inviting fellow members to follow you back to your site can produce phenomenal results.

5. Yahoo Answers

Yahoo Answers is yet another great marketing tool at your disposal. There is a question posted on Yahoo Answers for virtually any topic you can think of. If the asker deems your answer the best, he will vote it best answer. I have seen best answers wind up on Goolge’s first page on more than one occasion.

Just pick a question from a topic that is relevant to your website and post the answer. You are not allowed to post promotional links in the answer itself. And Yahoo does not recognize anchor text. You can, however, post your website address in the sources box as an expert on the topic.

Please Note: If you are new to Answers, you want to post at least five answers without posting your web address in order to avoid having your account suspended for spamming.

6. Forums

Yet another way to establish relevant links is to utilize forum websites. Forums are, in essence, discussion groups. You can post questions or topics for discussion within the forum. You can also comment on said posts, leaving your signature (a user name with your website address anchored into it).

The perfect forum for people wishing to establish links to their affiliate or ecommerce site is Warriorforum. Warrioforum is a forum specifically for internet marketers. It is not only one of the best sources for relevant links. It is also a great place to gather creditable information from established internet marketers.

Please Note: Most forums are presided over by a moderator. It is the moderator’s job to determine whether or not you are adding content or demonstrating a desire to learn within the forum. If it is determined that you are simply spamming the forum to proliferate links you will be banned. So do yourself a favor.  Don’t leave comments like, ”Great info, Bro” just to get another link.

7. Video Websites

There are many video posting websites on the net. Inarguably, the most popular by far is YouTube.  You don’t have to be Steven Spielberg to post on YouTube. YouTube postings range from simple commentary format with a handheld camcorder, all the way to full-blown video productions.

How effective is YouTube? April 1st 2009, no one had ever heard of Susan Boyle. On April 11, this rather plain looking woman wearing a dress that looked as if it had been pulled straight off a Salvation Army rack auditioned for a show called Britian’s Got Talent. This program isn’t even aired in the U.S. Despite the judge’s and audience’s skepticism, she proceeded to prove her vocalizations as a force to be reckoned with. By April 20, she had received over 100,000,000 hits on Youtube, more than President Obama’s Inauguration Speech. This happened in just nine days.

In case you think I went off on a tangent, I did not. Susan Boyle’s unprecedented exposure was simply meant as a demonstration of the sheer pulling power of internet video. If you type in phrases such as make money online, online business or work at home jobs you will find videos that have been viewed in excess of 100,000 times.

8. Flickr

Flickr is an image and video hosting website. It also acts as an online community platform. Its primary function is to allow users to share personal photographs with the online community. However, the service is widely used by bloggers as a photo repository. When viewed from a marketing standpoint, Flickr can be an effective promotional tool.

9. Website Linking

Linking with websites compatible you your own is a great way to increase internet traffic. You will find that many sites with similar content to yours will be more than happy to swap links with you. Conduct a Google keyword search. Find sites that are similar in content to your own. Ask the owners if they are willing to swap links.

Many website owners view this as a win, win situation. You provide free content to his site. In exchange, he provides a link back to yours. Both of you will increase your web traffic and boost your website ranking. There are also automated link swapping programs.  But you run the risk of less relevant links that may damage rather than aid your long-term ranking objectives.

Dual Fold Benefit

Virtually every method I have outlined above offers a dual fold benefit for your traffic generating efforts.

  1. You have established a relevant link to your website for optimization purposes.
  2. You have presented the internet user with the opportunity to go directly to your website via your link, whether from a website directory ad, an ezine article, a bookmarked page, a forum comment, a video posting, etc…

Play by the Rules:

Please remember to play by the rules. Virtually any website you are looking at as a means of internet marketing has its own set of terms and conditions. Failure to abide by the terms could get you permanently banned from the site. The last thing you want is to be perceived as a spammer by the online community.

Conclusion:

The free traffic techniques I have presented may not be “free” in the truest sense of the word. But the sweet equity you invest in promoting your site will pay off for months, even years to come. As an entrepreneur, you may not feel that these methods are worth your time and effort. Think hard. The pay off could be huge!

You can make money online without having to set up website or risking a huge monetary investment. Affiliate marketing is a great way to start an Online Business. There is little or no start up money or risk involved. And you can be Making Money Online in a matter of days verses the months it takes to optimize an ecommerce site.

The best of luck in your online marketing endeavors.

10 Tips on Increasing Your Website Traffic

October 26, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Not so long ago I had read an article about a woman who dramatically increased her page ranking from article submissions on her new website.

That was a fact I already knew, just like many other Internet Marketers. However, that article was the inspiration I needed to make some changes with my daily business habits.

Since I started studying the changes in my online traffic, the effects on adding content to your website and the change in search engine rankings, I’ve learned the importance of writing what you know and sharing it with others on the Internet.

I never took submitting and writing articles on a consistent basis too seriously when I first started my home based business. Part of the reason was because I was not confident enough to share what I knew with others.

Sure I posted a few articles, but I never posted those articles to as many directories and ezines that would accept my article.

Now before you go about thinking it might NOT be necessary to write an article periodically, take a look at some of the facts I have taken more seriously and learned as a result of posting articles online.

10 Benefits Of Submitting Articles Online:

1. Posting an article online has more of a dramatic affect than one might think for your home based business. Posting articles online builds the needed momentum of website traffic in the form of increased popularity and other sites linking to your site. All of those sites linking to you are one way links!

2. As you begin to submit more articles to more directories, your list of places for submitting articles will keep expanding.

3. Submitting to websites regularly will add more popularity to your website. This is the easiest way to improved your link popularity as well as your increased website traffic.

4. Most directories usually will let you include a resource box with your name and your website link with your article. Your website address will be found every time someone reads your article, creating more one way links to your site.

5. Most article directory websites store submitted articles in their archives. Since the search engine spiders love content, these sites are crawled often. This means YOU will benefit from the traffic and hyperlinks from each of your archived articles on their website.

6. The more articles you consistently write and distribute, the more you will become known as an expert for your home based business. The more you provide informative articles, your business will be given extra credibility which will help you to compete against your competition.

7. The more exposure your articles get for you, the more you will see your content showing up all over the Internet. Increasing the level of awareness and popularity builds credibility. Increased credibility may lead to requests to write other articles and improved sales of your product or service.

8. The more articles that you submit to major article directories, the more likely your content will be used for wider publication. The main reason this occurs is because many newsletter and ezine publishers like to use article directories to search for good quality content for their articles.

9. Adding content that is useful for both the readers and to the search engines will increse your website’s popularity. By posting your articles in popular directories, you are more likely to be chosen for a featured article in a newsletter and have several webmasters republish your article on their website.

10. If you have a blog or RSS syndication, you should submit your articles written in your blog to article directories. The most overlooked source of traffic for a blog is through article submission. You can turn your longer posts into articles and submit them to ezines or directories.

In summary, make sure each article is written to inform and appeal to the reader, so that they are getting useful information from you. Once you start writing articles, be systematic about submitting new ones on a regular basis so they built momentum.

You will find the articles already posted have been hard at work because they are free advertising from other people to post on their web sites. In months to come, you will start getting the traffic and attention you’d been wishing for.

More Website Traffic: 5 Surefire Tips

October 25, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Here are five surefire tips to increase your website traffic:

1. Writing articles is a win-win-win situation. The ezine editor gets content, the reader gets valuable information and you get backlinks. And it’s not hard, just tedious. Go through everything you’ve written down as part of creating your website and, if applicable, producing your product. This is your area of expertise and others will benefit from it. And it’s original. Highlight separate topics and bring like topics together. Associate relevant keywords with each topic. Pick a keyword and write a headline based on it. Use three to five relevant topics as your content. Finish off with a resource box like mine at the end of this article. Rinse and repeat until you’ve got several articles. To get more website traffic, submit them to article directories with high Google PR and low Alexa Rank. You can see a list of these at the Traffic Floodgate website under Best Directories.

2. Create an account at http://www.trailfire.com. Find four other sites, blogs or articles on the same or a similar topic as yours, but who are not direct competitors, and link them and your site together in a “trail.” Include your best keywords in each review. Google loves these “fire trails” and with luck will rank yours highly for your chosen keywords.

3. An oldie but still a goodie. Create several unique (very important – you will get deleted if they are the same or even too similar – you might even need to create separate accounts) advertisements at http://www.craigslist.org across different regions in the Small Business category, using your best keyword as the anchor text linking back to your site. Craigslist has a Google Page Rank of a whopping 8!

4. Every time you create a website, you should add a Wordpress blog to it. If you’re using cPanel, it’s a very simple process. Click on Fantastico, then select Wordpress blog, new installation and follow the simple process through. Do a Google search on Wordpress theme (free if you like) pick one that appeals and follow the instructions to change the theme. If you don’t, your blog will look like a million others. And what to post to your blog? Why, the articles you wrote in Tip 1. Try to post one a week, and watch your traffic go up.

5. Include a keyword based anchor text link back to your website in every blog entry plus keyword tags. Tempt your blog visitors with a free e-book or other valuable information. Make sure that http://www.technorati.com/ is included in your blog’s ping list. (Click on Options:Writing:Update Services to maintain your Ping List.) Then when you post, the Technorati spider will list your blog post on their huge PR8 site under each of your tags.

Future articles will expand on each of the topics covered in this article as well as introduce new ones, all with the single purpose of getting more website traffic for you.

Instant Website Traffic with Back-links

October 25, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

<b>Since back-links are so important, how do you build them?</b>

Well, one of the easiest was to start building links back to your site is to utilize website directories.  There are many directory-type websites that will index your website(s) and make your business/service/information available to users who are searching for it.  Not only do you get an increase in website traffic from these sites but you also get the back-links from these services to your website.

<b>Back-links can be Bad for Business</b>

Having back-links from the leading general directories promotes your site and rank it favorably with the search engines.  The other side of the coin is that you can actually negatively affect how the search engines see your website with the wrong directories.  As you try to promote your website to increase traffic and your search engine rankings you may accidentally fall into a ‘bad crowd’ (of website directories).

You must be careful when choosing directories for website promotion.  The same goes with any other links you use to generate traffic by linking back to your website.  A highly respected website with quality content can greatly improve your search engine rankings, while poor quality websites will actually negatively affect your online business; simply from being association with non-search engine friendly websites.

<b>‘Anchor’ Well when Possible</b>

Link quality is an important factor of website promotion and search engine rankings, but link anchor text is also very important. The text that is used for your link is sometimes called ‘descriptive anchor text’ and also must be search engine friendly for the maximum benefit on increasing your website traffic.  To become “search engine friendly” your anchor text should contain keywords that describe the content to which they are linked.  This may differ depending on which keywords you are choosing to target, as well as what content you’re promoting on the linked page.

Descriptive anchor text is not only beneficial to the search engines’ understanding of what your website is about and therefore an improved search engine ranking, but also for the user who gets a better idea what he or she is clicking through to.  This provides you with an even more targeted visitor who is more likely to purchase what your business is selling. Of course you can’t always control how your link is displayed, so focus on linking to quality – related, and high ranking – websites and website directories for maximum website promotion and traffic.

Five Ways to Inrease Website Traffic

October 24, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Now your website is up and running, don’t think you can just sit back and get traffic to your website without lifting a finger. It is not that easy; well, it can be if you know what to do. Think of your website as organic, something that continually evolves and grows into the future. So how are you going to get website traffic? I will give some tips here in principle.

I will later introduce you to traffic knowledge that will have you operating at the top end with other traffic masters. Let’s take it one step at a time.

You have done everything right. Now you need to let people know you exist. Maybe you are wondering if you should buy website traffic or, maybe, if there are things you can learn to get more website traffic more quickly and easily.

Some ways to improve your website traffic include content and article marketing, in-bound linking, Web 2 strategies, free website directories and search engine optimization. If you do nothing, you will likely get very little traffic.

1. Content and Article Marketing

To get traffic you need top quality content on your website. If you don’t, any visitors you do get will click away from your website immediately and move to the next one in the list.

Article marketing can be used quite affectively to drive traffic to your site. Write good quality articles relevant to your website’s content and submit them to online directories.

This will help get you noticed and listed in the most popular search engine directories. Remember to stick with quality. Check places known for their stringent approach toward quality such as ezinearticles.com to get an idea of what you should be doing.

2. Creating Links

Start a link campaign. The best way is to get in-bound links commonly known as back-links from similar or complementary website owners. Another way to create links is to make informed comments on blogs and forums that allow you a link to your website address. This is effective and many will click your link simply out of curiosity, especially if you have interesting things to say in your field. But remember, it is not the quantity of external links that is important; it is the quality of them. Keep away from reciprocal linking, it is most often not worth the effort.

3. Web 2.0 Strategies

Web 2 strategies, often known as social marketing, have become a huge online marketing tool. YouTube, Flickr, Reddit, Propeller, MySpace, Facebook, Stumbleupon and Digg are all examples of social marketing tools that have come to the forefront in recent times. There are many ways to use these communities to promote yourself and improve website traffic in an ethical manner.

4. Free Website Directories

Promote your website to online newsgroups and free directories. These can be invaluable for getting your name out there quickly. Take care with directories and make sure you’re not submitting to a link farm. Search engines despise link farms. Make sure the directory offers significant traffic. Google themselves promote Yahoo directory and niche directories as good places to list your site. Yahoo charges a hefty fee but you have to decide how much credence you place in your site.

5. Search Engine Optimization

Make sure your website is optimized so search engines list you. Once you are listed your web address will come up when people type in your keywords. To optimize your website use keywords in your content, the same keywords in you meta keyword tag, a sensible and relevant meta description, headlines and page titles. Don’t cheat! You need to learn a little more about On-page and Off-page optimization. You can Google these terms and find out more in detail later.

No longer do we live in an age where we can expect people to come to us. It is essential to know your target market and tactfully encourage folks to visit. Usually with quality. Remember, that in the end, real people will decide the future of your site so don’t be in a rush.
