Google, Twitter, Facebook, Bing – Oh My!!
November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Today was a big day for Google, Bing, Twitter and Facebook.
To quickly recap:
Bing announced they have made a deal with Twitter AND Facebook to pull their updates into the SERPS (search engine results pages).
Hours later Google announced they too have a deal with Twitter and will be delivering Tweet feeds in the SERPs.
This is exciting and interesting and it confirms one thing: SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and Social Media are partners in your success. You shouldn’t neglect either.
No one knows exactly how this is going to play out yet but we’ve all started preparing for it already. Off the top of my head, here are some tips to help you prepare.
Since we don’t know how they will sort through the massive volume and pick the tweets to return in the results, we don’t know exactly how to give our tweets the best shot at getting picked up.
Let’s look at a little logic and a little Google knowledge.
They like history and they like quality. They also like volume.
So, get an account now if you don’t have one already. Get as much history in as you can. Accounts that have been around longer with more tweet history (and more followers) may fare better. (PLEASE don’t go overboard – the last thing we need is people to start keyword stuffing mass volumes of tweets).
Tweet often but keep it natural – and tweet quality. Tweet when you have something to ask, share or teach.
Use keywords – but don’t stuff with keywords. If the tweets are about your industry, you should be using keywords naturally anyway.
If you are going to retweet your messages at different times of the day to be more likely to catch your audience, make sure you vary them a little bit (and again, don’t go overboard).
Use links in your tweets back to your site (to relevant content on your site) and share the link love – link to other quality sites out there. Make sure you use your keyword in your bio and if you are just setting up your username, maybe in your username too? This may or not help. Again, I must say – do not stuff keywords anywhere – not in tweets, not in your bio, not in your username.
This is a good thing, but if people abuse it and bring the overall quality of Twitter down, we will all be sorry.
If you have a feed that sends your tweets to Facebook, or your Facebook status to Twitter, you may want to consider turning it off. If you have the same message in both places you are missing an opportunity for Bing to pick up both. If they are unique, you have 2 chances to get in there!
So, get tweeting and Facebooking! It’s going to be a fun ride!

Black Hat Search Engine Optimization the White Hat Way
November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Black Hat SEO
A fairly common black hat search engine optimization tactic is
to build multiple websites on a general theme. The sites are
then cross-linked to other sites in the same network, and would
also include one-way links to the primary site with varying
anchor text. The whole aim is to give one or more sites a huge
boost in search engine results pages (SERPs), and for it to also
benefit from additional traffic flowing from the various network
sites.
People undertaking such methods generally create the websites
with automated tools, use scraped content from other peoples
websites, and most of the sites have no purpose other than to
drive traffic to the primary site.
White Hat SEO
First it is important to understand a little about linking
structure. I am not going to go into excessive details.
It is widely understood that internal linking on any website can
represent as much as 50% of the page rank attributed to any
single page within a site. How your pages are linked together,
for which terms, and whether links are reciprocated all play an
import role in the calculation.
If I told you that there are hundreds of websites on the
internet, with very high page rank on multiple terms themselves,
who would be willing to create a niche portal within their
pages, highly optimized for your website, niche and keywords, it
is something you would probably be willing to pay for.
We are not talking about a simple directory site. We are talking
about high quality content pages, that will pass on pagerank to
your site, plus a central hub, similar to a home page, that
benfits from all the content pages linking to it, and that in
turn also points directly to your website.
Of course:-
- You will have complete control over the content of each of
these sites.
- You will be provided with an interface for managing the site’s
contents.
- You will be able to add content whenever you like, on almost
any subject.
- They will even act as brokers to encourage other people to
create hubs which will also point directly to your website
- Most of these sites have powerful linking structures, that
magnify the value of your content, and the links both to your
website, and to the central hub.
This is all “white hat”. You will never be penalised for using
this tactic by the search engines, and it is permanent! Your
traffic hubs will be a permanent fixture. Some of these hubs
will disappear, but many more will appear to replace them.
Is this something you would pay for?
You can get this highly powerful promotion of your website for
free!
Simply write and submit articles to article directories.
Every day I see questions on multiple marketing forums along the
lines of:-
“Does article marketing really work?”
“I submitted an article 2 weeks ago and my search engine results
have stayed the same, why?”
“When I submit an article, how long until I will see traffic to
my website?”
Describing exactly how this all works in words is very
difficult, but lets look at a very simple math formula.
1×1x1×1x1=1
It is not very impressive is it?
You have to remember however that an individual article you
publish gains incoming links in a number of ways.
- Snippets from your article will appear on the pages of other
articles in the same niche.
- You will have a link in the main topic.
- you will most likely have a link for some time in the RSS feed.
- if a website uses that RSS feed for content, the article on
the directory site would gain at least a temporary link, but
quite often a permanent one.
So we may be looking at more like
1.3×1.3×1.3×1.3×1.3=3.71
Some of the numbers however are going to be bigger or smaller,
depending on the authority of the page linking to the article,
the number of links from that page etc.
You might well have to use addition rather than multiplication
when regarding many aspects of a real formula.
What is important however is that not only is each individual
article you publish gaining in pagerank, but also your author
profile.
Lets take some examples.
These are the current top 5 article authors listed at Ezine
Articles:-
Lance Winslow 2029 Articles Jeff Herring 340 Articles Tim Gorman
306 Articles John Mussi 303 Articles Dennis Siluk 286 Articles
Now do a search for any of those author names in Google.
Every single result has a reference to their Ezine Articles
profile within the top 3 positions.
This isn’t true in every case. Well known (and popular for good
reason) internet marketer Willie Crawford’s profile only appears
at the bottom of the first page, but he has hundreds of links
pointing to his popular websites, and has a baseball player
competing for ranking.
Profile pages concentrate and magnify the linking benefit of
every article you publish, thus the links from a profile page
carry a lot of weight.
Some author bio pages allow a lot of customization. Most allow
you to have some text (which can be keyword targeted), along
with website links. A few even allow you to set anchor text for
every link in your profile.
Thus to answer all the questions I see every day on various
marketing forums.
- Yes, article marketing does work.
- the more articles you submit, the more effect you will have
from using articles as one form of marketing. A hub with a
single page has very little weighting. A hub with 10, 20 or even
100 articles will carry an immense amount of weight, and having
lots of hubs pointing to your websites will have a massive
effect on search engine results.
- you might see an immediate burst of traffic within a few days
of when you submit an article, however article marketing is a
short, medium and long-term solution.
Short term it can be a fast route to having a website
spidered by search engines. Medium term, you will gain
some exposure within your niche as other sites and ezines
publish your content. Many of them don’t write about your topic
every day. Long-term is really up to you. The more
quality articles you write, the larger your hubs will become.
Large article hubs pick up traffic from a larger variety of
search engine traffic, but also make your author bio more
prominent, thus magnifying the value of external links placed
there.

5 Ways to Increase Website Traffic for Free
November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
1. Submit to Google Base (Froogle)
If you sell products or services, Google Base is fertile ground for free marketing. If you’re selling widgets, for instance, you can add them to Google Base and it will then show up in the Google’s product search and link directly to your website. You may also submit services listings.
Adding items is fairly simple- just prepare an Excel spreadsheet with the proper header categories- examples and templates are provided. Basic product/service info, such as title, description, price, an image, and link to your website is offered on the page. Traffic from these listings may not be high, but it’s free and may potentially attract new customers to your website.
www.google.com/base – Google Base
www.google.com/prdhp – Google Product Search2. Add to free directories and wikis
Look for directories/wikis with the highest Google Page Rank (PR) either on the home page or on the specific page your listing will appear. Also, the more specifically targeted the directory content is to your website, the better. For example, if you sell photography, try to find and get listed in a photography directory. If promoting a massage therapy website, find and list in any health and wellness-related directories. If the directory appears overly ‘spammy’ then it may be better to avoid. There is no proof that search engines penalize websites for being included in these seedy sites, but it certainly is a waste of time, as there are endless amounts of these directories.
The main reason for listing in directories is not for the traffic from the directories. Hardly anyone actually uses these directories. It is more about the incoming links. The higher the PR is on the website linking to you, the more value the incoming link will give to your website. The more quality incoming links you have, the higher PR you may have on your website. The higher the PR, the higher your website will be shown in the search engine results pages, or SERPs. The higher rank your search listings are, the more search traffic you will receive. And the more traffic you receive, the more likely you are to make sales and make more money. Yes, indirectly, the goal of adding to directories is to increase your traffic and make money.
When you submit information to directories, make sure you use an alternate email address, as many will make you agree to their terms of use, which frees them to send you lots of spam and distribute your email address to other companies.
Add to this directory:
www.killerstartups.com
Add to wikis (editable content):
www.aboutus.org
en.wikipedia.org
Here are some nice lists of directory sites:
www.avivadirectory.com/strongest-directories
www.autho-rity.com/Internet/Web_Directories
www.best-web-directories.com/free-directories.htm
www.forest-cafe.org/free-directory-list.php3. Write press releases and submit everywhere
Write press releases and send to the media these social bookmarking/news sites (the more the merrier), and submit to as many media contacts as you can find. This will help increase links to your site.
It is recommended you place the original release on your own website and make sure it is SEO friendly with a comprehensive list of your press releases. For an example, click here: www.turbophoto.com/Stock-Photo-News
Depending on the marketing strategy of your business, you might consider translating your releases to extend your global reach. Here are a few social news sites that seem to be gaining in popularity:
www.meneame.net – Spanish
www.yigg.de – German
Submit to any media in your industry- both for print magazines or websites. If you are not sure what media are in your industry, you can first check the Yahoo! directory. Then you can go to a bookstore, such as Barnes & Noble, and ask for a list of the magazines they carry in your industry. Borders did not provide such a list, but Barnes & Noble did- many of which are prominent magazines, but could not be found online.
Plus, send to these free PR submission websites. Note that it can be tricky to navigate through the site to avoid the fees and actually submit for free, but it actually works.
Recommend submitting press releases to:
secure.prleap.com
www.i-newswire.com/submit_free.php
www.pr.com/press-releases
www.pr-inside.com
www.pressbox.co.uk
Unfortunately, other PR submission sites require a fee, despite claiming to be free. Avoid these fee-based scam sites: prfree.com, console.prweb.com, pr-inside.com, free-press-release-center.info.
For more information on free PR sites, this person made a nice directory: www.emeraldcoastentrepreneur.com4. Write articles and distribute them everywhere
Also, you can write articles, such as what you are reading right now. Sure, I enjoy writing and sharing valuable tips with you, but the main reason for me writing this article is to gain incoming links and drive traffic. You can do it too, and you should! It’s free and an easy way to get a massive amount of incoming links.
You should also add an RSS feed to allow other websites to easily syndicate your content. Make sure you include links to your own website in any article or press release you write (not just at the end), otherwise it can be a partially wasted effort if your URL isn’t included.
If you don’t know how to build a SEO and RSS friendly webpages to hold your original articles, I recommend either reading an RSS tutorial such as this: (www.mnot.net/rss/tutorial ), or just use free WordPress software (www.wordpress.org). Just download it and follow the directions to install on your server. Then do a search for ‘SEO Wordpress’ and you can learn how to change your permalinks so you will get more return on your efforts (more traffic).
Submit articles to:
www.ezinearticles.com
www.goarticles.com
www.articlegeek.com
www.isnare.com
www.articlewarehouse.com
www.certificate.net
www.articlecity.com
There are many more, but some require absolutely original content (no other postings allowed on any other websites). It may be better to get credit for your own original article, by posting it on your own website.
Remember to post regularly to popular social news and bookmarking sites.
Submit both articles and press releases to:
www.Digg.com
www.Newsvine.com
www.Myjeeves.ask.com
www.Simpy.com
www.Reddit.com
www.Netscape.com
www.Technorati.com
www.del.icio.us
www.Stumbleupon.com5. Post to Craigslist
Post your products and services on www.craigslist.org. It is a very high traffic website and you can post every day if you want. If you’re creative, you can find an appropriate place for most anything you sell- you can even customize your listing for each location too.

Why Traffic Exchanges Are Bad
November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
This article is for those using traffic exchanges not realizing the negative effect it can have within the SERPs (search engine ranking pages). This will be especially helpful for those trying to make money online. First if you would like to replace your traffic from visitors forced to visit your website to visitors that are interested in your website you need to stop what you are doing immediately. A traffic exchange is a bunch of new webmasters that don’t understand just because they are getting traffic it will magically transfer into commissions. If you want to make money with your website or blog then it is a must that you begin a targeted marketing campaign rather than wasting your time mindlessly going from website to website that you really don’t want to visit in the first place.
I would like to talk about the theory of organic traffic and why a traffic exchange has not place within natural targeted traffic. When you get a visitor from a search engine it is because the steps that you took to get the webmaster or blogger there and if you are not willing to take the steps then you should probably give up on being a webmaster or blogger. The first and most important step in gaining a decent position in the SERPs and actually getting people to join your affiliate program or purchase products/services on your site is to have a constant stream of unique helpful fresh content. Let say you spend an hour a day bouncing from website to website, if you spent that hour working on your site the visitors you do get will be much happier to be there and much more likely to purchase from you. Now as you give up your traffic exchange you will see a decrease in your visitor counter this is GOOD. No longer will you have people coming to your website for the sole purpose of burning up your bandwidth.
Once you receive the drop in traffic you will be thinking everything I am telling you is crap, but you really need to read on. After the decrease what you will need to do is begin a campaign which consists of actually learning the niche (category of website such as get paid to) which you are in and learn who your competitors are and who is linking to them. You should also know their keyword density for any keywords you would like to be on top of Google for. Once you have an understanding of your competitors and how much work you will need to do start building the backlinks and SEOing your website. If you would like to learn about SEO then you should join V7N forum the webmasters there including myself will help guide you in the right direction to begin receiving traffic that wants to be at your website (targeted traffic). When you begin building backlinks I prefer article writing sense it is one of the best ways to gain high quality backlinks as well as targeted referral traffic from the article directory that you choose. Personally I like ezinearticles.com and goarticles.com to promote my website. Anyway if you do the work necessary to gain a decent position in the Google SERPs then you will begin seeing the hits flow in and the conversion rather dramatically increase. The max really from a traffic exchange is if you are lucky a hundred or so daily, the max for being at the top of Google for competitive key terms is in the hundreds of thousands daily. So do you see the difference of actually doing what it takes to gain the traffic necessary to succeed online compared to bouncing from one site to the next fighting for each and every worthless hit? If not continue spending time looking at websites you don’t want to look at and I will continue to get hundreds of daily hits from Google. If you liked this article and would like to read more of my work on online promotion feel free to visit website marketing

Improve Google PageRank NOW!
November 11, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
PageRank is a link analysis algorithm which was named after its creator – Larry Page. Google uses PageRank to determine the authority of any given website. PageRank often determines how high (or low) a website will rank in the Search Engine Results Pages (SERPs) for any given keyword.
Sites with relatively high PR often outrank those with low PR. While many SEO experts will debate that statement, don’t let them fool you, PageRank is extremely important when it comes to SEO, Google and Organic Search Engine Traffic.
In this post, I want to focus on the factors that determine the PageRank of any given website and how you can deliberately focus on those specific areas of your SEO campaign in order to boost your website’s PageRank to get more organic search engine traffic.
How Google Algorithm is Calculated
For many years, large numbers of internet Heroes, Warriors and Vikings have tried to conquer Google PageRank Algorithm. Many of them have tried to crack the algorithm’s code, but there is yet to be found a man who is capable of such an act of bravery.
Google constantly keeps changing the rules as soon as someone gets even close to cracking their data. However, overtime, great mathematicians have discovered an approximate way of how PageRank works:
PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))
In simple terms this equation can be translated into:
a page’s PageRank = 0.15 + 0.85 * (a “share” of the PageRank of every page that links to it)
*Share = The linking page’s PageRank is divided by the number of outbound links
Factors That Can Improve Pagerank

SEO Tips to Get Targeted Traffic for Your Site
November 10, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
SEO – Search Engine Optimization – is a process to optimize your website position in Search Engine Result Pages (SERPs), which means your website should appear at the first ranking for specific keywords on the first page of any search engines.
Why to do SEO? First it maximizes your web traffic because it’s the most visible in surfers’ search. The more visitors your website has the better your conversion rates and ROI are and thus the higher your profit is.
Next unlike paid marketing, organic marketing or SEO is much more cost effective. You won’t have to pay for the traffic or the clicks themselves. More than that, if you have time and knowledge, you can generate traffic yourself so your organic traffic can be completely free.
The matter relies on how to do SEO effectively to get the most out of it, which means you can get massive targeted traffic within your time and money budget. Some webmasters will opt to do everything themselves. However, they often get stuck half way being hopeless to wait for their website to get high rankings and the traffic to come.
The reasons can be simply either they are not aware of the latest Internet Marketing techniques which are being developed day by day by professional Internet Marketers, or they just aren’t doing them the correct ways. Another reason can be they don’t have that much time to manage and complete the SEO process and leave it undone without having any results yet.
For those reasons, most of online business owners nowadays choose to outsource to reliable Search Engine Optimizers (SEOs). Among the leading SEOs in the current market, Traffic Assistants can be considered the best with their core competency in exclusive internet marketing services provided by professional internet marketers.

Charlotte Seo

Charlotte SEO short for Search engine optimization, is the process of improving the amount of visitors or traffic coming from search engines. By optimizing the website and/or web pages the Search Engine Results Page SERP will yield a larger amount of visitors from search engines. SEO is also used to target specific key terms like Charlotte SEO. By targeting a specific keyword the website can receive visitors from a specific region of where their company is located.
There are over 200 factors in how a website may rank on a search engine. These factors are generally not offered to the public so the SERPs can’t be manipulated by any single user or company. A search engine marketing can offer an individual their SEO theories in how they obtain high rankings for quality keywords. They should also provide search engine results from websites they have or currently working on. This will demonstrate if their mindset for search engine optimization is closer to the 200 factors than other companies. Not all companies have the same experience or expertise, and the amount of knowledge they possess will be the turning factor for your success.
Most business owners do not understand the intricacies of search engine optimization. Business owners normally look for the bottomline of what’s it going to cost, and how much revenue it’s going to bring. Most fail to realize that SEO is a service not a product. A SEO company may complete the task of obtaining high search results, and the client may still not have an increase in sales or revenue. It’s important to understand that a website’s color, navigational usability, content, etc may also affect the sale on a product.
Most banks have white backgrounds on their websites for a reason. Not many people are willing to put their private information on a black background website. Colors are very important in helping a user become a client not just a website visitor.
Most website visitors want to find the information they’re looking for within 1-2 clicks, and not have to search for it on a website. We live in a microwave generation where everything must accessible from out fingertips with a few keystrokes or clicks.
Content is very important for a user to distinguish whether a website is just another sales page or an informational website. Informational websites appear to be more trustworthy, and authoritative. To find out more information please visit our SEO blog for optimization tips.
