Build Your Vemma Business by Ranking Your Page in Google: Look Out For These Mistakes

December 15, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

The Vemma business can be built fairly efficiently by driving Google search traffic to your site utiilizing article marketing.Though the point of this article is not that of article marketing, there are certain materials I can provide on all the “how-to”s of article marketing if you like.Let’s just keep it super-simple and summarize the concept with this:You can write an article on some subject, say, “Vemma Opportunity”, or “Why Vemma Rule”, having to do with Vemma or anything else for that matter, and you can post that article to various article posting sites. In each article, generally, you are allowed to put two links in your “about this author” section at the bottom. You can link these to your blog or your lead capture page, or wherever else you decide. The more articles you have posted and on more sites, the more links this gives you back to your original content for your Vemma article. This is important for SEO and getting your site seen by thousands of folks. Many links back to your one page with relevant content is a GIGANTIC factor in determining your ranking on the search result. It is by no means the only thing. But it’s very important.Moving on from this you can then use certain software which will post all by itself your one article to all the relevant posting sites all in one blast, saving you huge amounts of time. This quickly provides you many back-links to your webpage. This is the basic concept behind getting you page to come up on the first page of a Google search for the keywords you are aiming at.This process is very involved and I can share more with you about that but for now let’s focus on the 5 most significant mistakes that can be made in trying to get your page to come up high in the search page results..I recently listened to a presentation given by the internet marketing master and SEO guru Kenny Gregg.Kenny has over 17 years of success in direct marketing and is an proven expert on SEO lead generation. He has run several websites that have literally gotten over 5000 hits per minute! He earned over $20K per month for over 10yrs straight in network marketing, doing it the old-fashioned way (without the net) and he understands the basic principles of network marketing. He has been marketing online. So, he’s no novice! Here are the five biggest foul-ups that internet marketers make which cost them SEO, specifically Google search results, according to Kenny Gregg. There are more. But there are the 5 important ones. So pay attention!More folks click on the the top seven results of a Google search by far, than any other positions. Here are the big ones that will cost you those spots:1st Mistake To Fix If You Want to Rank Your Vemma Page in Google Search – KEYWORD STUFFING.Some people think that if they just stuff the body of their article with as many repetitions of their keywords as possible that this will increase their rank. This is totally false. The Google spiders are smarter than this and they will recognize this as invalid content. This won’t help you.Focused keywords are more important.2nd SEO Error To Fix To Grow Your Vemma Business – MISSING KEYWORDS.Obviously a total lack of the keyword you are trying to get ranking for is going to get no result. But understand that Google’s spiders read from left to right and you really need to put your keywords, or keyword phrase in the beginning of the title, within the first two or three words is best. If not you are giving up a lot of optimization. You should also put 5 – 10 similar keywords into your articles. Maybe look to Google’s Keyword Tool and use this to locate some of the more popular similar keywords. And your anchor text should have your keywords in it. Anchor text is that blue text that links to other page. These are important. Anchor text that says “Click Here” tells the search engine that the term “click here” is of importance. You should give it the real keywords to follow as links, so put something like “Vemmabuilder” if that is the keyword phrase that you would like to rank for.3rd Mistake To Fix To Get Your Vemma Business SEO Traffic – NO KEYWORDS IN THE SITE DESCRIPTION.You know, this is that behind-the-scenes stuff that you can put into the “Settings” area of your Wordpress Blog. The visitor to your page doesn’t see it, but the search engine does. Making this description keyword-heavy is one of the most important parts of getting your blog ranked highly.4th Mistake To Fix To Get SEO Traffic For Your Vemma Business – NO SEO RELEVANCY TO YOUR SITEThe trick is to have a massive number of back-links going to the site that you are trying to rank. The links and anchor text in your articles must be relevant, going back to the importance of the anchor text fitting your desired keywords..5th SEO Mistake To Fix TO Grow Your Vemma Business – TITLE TAGS MISSINGThis refers to the actual title of the page as you see in the very top-most strip of the browser window. It’s not the title within the page itsel. It’s the one that comes up on the top bar of the window. These can be changed. Some Wordpress templates allow you to customize them easily. Some require plug ins. These title tags are important to Google’s engine as it’s scanning your pages.Avoid these mistakes and you will find that you will begin to start getting free traffic, forever, for those keywords, as article postings don’t get taken down too quickly once they are up.

Google New Page Ranking Score And Social Media Index

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

So everyone wants to be on top in Google, but you don’t always get what you want now do you? Before things were so much more simple; you advertise, you give good service, you get customers. Now you need to compete with other companies via the Internet as well. Being number one (that includes page 1 cause lets face it, there are just too many of us competing) in the search engines is critical as it can do wonders to businesses all over. I mean you don’t even need to rent a place anymore if you have a great seat on Google! But how do you get there? There are so many things you can do from SEO – link building, submitting articles to different sites, to having landing pages with promotions. So what really helps? Right now, I’m going to talk about two hot topics, Google Page Rank and Social media index. What are they and how do they help? Google Page Rank is a bit on the confusing side as even Google has poor information on it. In the simplest of words, it’s a voting system, and an American voting system at that since some votes are more important than others. Google will take the link votes and determine which pages are more important based on them. Then the scores are used along with a lot of other factors to determine if the page will rank well in a search. Google itself says, and I quote, “PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page’s value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at considerably more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; for example, it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “important” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “important.” Using these and other factors, Google provides its views on pages’ relative importance.”Now what about Social Media Index? Well, normally we thought someone’s web influence was measured by how successful his or her blog is, and that was done by counting how many people subscribed or linked to it. Now that’s not credible as people use different social media tools to get out there. So how do the two work with each other? They don’t. The battle comes in the concepts of the two. Page Rank is supposed to be the ‘producer’ attracting the ‘consumer’ to their page. With Social Media invading every single computer, links are being passed on to friends and friends of friends and it’s no long a producer to consumer act, it’s getting all tangles up. The consumers are talking and listening to each other. So is Page Rank still really needed? With the consumers helping the consumers, the producers have less and less say than they did before. What do you think should happen now? Catch up with me below.

••••••>Organic / Natural Search: Relevance and SEO Ranking

November 15, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

SEO rankings from natural search offer tremendous value to any website. Considering that nearly 70% of traffic to most sites are a result of search engines or contingent on the visitor stemming from a site they found in a search engine to reach your page.

Acquiring natural search rankings are a cost-effective means to reach a broader audience to sell products, services or information online. By understanding the premise of SEO and how to apply fundamental aspects of website optimization, you can dial in search results over time through content, relevance and the strength of your pages continuity by sending the appropriate signals to search engines.

With millions of new websites being added to the web daily, the sheer number of aggregate pages on any topic is expanding exponentially. So, how does Google or other search engines deal with this influx of information while still maintaining relevance and order in some sense of the word?, they limit the indexing of each keyword or shingle to 1000 search results.

What this means is, despite the number of pages for any given search, you are dealing with a set number of websites that all have some affinity with the topic, keyword or reputation of the search term you are competing for.

Natural SEO is not always about trying to fix a site to rank for specific keywords, it’s more about building a website with intention to devour a particular niche. It takes time to create content, time to develop internal and external links, time for search engines to assess, index and grade each page algorithmically as well as in context to the entire site, the sites linking to you and the impact and reach your website has on the web.

Time is the greatest commodity for natural search and SEO rankings are contingent on the volume of information for any given shingle (keyword, key phrase or group of related words). What this means is, the site with the highest relevance for any given keyword or key phrase (based on proximity, domain authority, link weight, relevance and hundreds of other metrics) is dynamically buoyant and rises to the top of SEO rankings easily.

The thing to consider is (1) are you targeting the right types of keywords (2) do you have enough supporting information on the topic within your website (3) is your website groomed to overcome the other 1000 search results for any given related query or nebulous and sparse when it comes to topical relevance?

For example, if you are on page 7 for a keyword, then you have some relevance for those keywords, but not enough link weight to push it past the other 60+ pages in front of you. However, by going back to look for relevant places from within your own site to link to your champion/landing page, making adjusting titles or tags and creating additional content on the topic you can shift this ranking factor without even venturing outside of your own site.

Most organic rankings are not hindered from off page factors/links (at least not as much as you would like to think) it really boils down to honing the on page factors under your control first in order to be considered a candidate for relevance by the search engines.

Relevance means quality content, coherent internal links and then quite naturally a proper amount of deep links to each page produces a synergy that produces the elevation in natural search results.

Google’s Ranking System

November 15, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Google is the number one search engine. Are you aware of the technology aspect behind its ranking system? Fully understanding all of their principles is important to understand the ranking system.

The nucleus of their technology involving their methodology is devised for the field of Information Retrieval. This system is a foundation of mathematics, library science, information science, cognitive psychology, information architecture, linguistics, statistics, and physics.

How this retrieval system works is by the searcher requesting the information. The data requested is provided through a software agent that actually pushes that requested information.

The retrieval system may use a full test logical view but in most cases reduces it with a set of keywords. This is done with a process of exclusion of stop words, and the use of stemming, and by identifying noun groups.

Note that when this retrieval database is set up, it works in this manner:

The documents are ranked by relevance’s

Then by useful information

Then by a subset seen as of interest

This system is basically for ease of retrieving information and not being overloaded by it. This gives Google their groundwork for the formula which they have built on top of, link structure and numerous other innovations.

There are three components of the search process:

1.    The first being the crawling and indexing of the pages but there are other important aspects. Another component is to understand a users search and the important concepts of their particular search even though they many not be obvious. In other words if you were looking for something specific with a place. The search result would pull up the homepage of that site even though the name was not mentioned in the title page.

Google makes other distinctions regarding wording and your updated information.

2.     Best in-class spelling suggestion system asks if you meant a certain spelling to clarify what you are looking for.

Advanced  synonyms system- The synonyms of the queries is related to where a user asks for an item such as dresses for a wedding, and automatically the results are wedding gowns.

Very strong concept analysis system-The algorithms understand what the user is looking for to return the results that they are looking for. There is differentiation in place and particulars in the search.

3.    Google understands its users and localities. The results that a user is looking for is on “best locally relevant results served globally”.

Another feature is for those that have Google accounts and are actually logged into them while searching. While doing a query they “tailor” the results to the user.

Finally there is the Cross Language Information Retrieval technology. This translates language of another into English.

While word frequency and page structure always comes into play we may not think about all of the technology behind how the entire process works. It is important to understand this and Google’s philosophies.

Ranking Dropped From the Top Spots in Search Engines

November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

You often hear this complaint that my search engine ranking has dropped. This is only to be expected as Google, Yahoo, MSN and the other engines are constantly in a state of flux. Most webmasters are caught unaware when they suddenly discover their ranking has dropped and the traffic has dwindled. Those who are making money online, losing ranks can adversely affect their earnings. Still worse, for those who are abjectly dependent on websites for their livelihoods, losing all search engine traffic can be simply disastrous. When sites lose traffic and drop down in the rankings, the one thing everyone immediately thinks of is – a penalty has been applied to their sites. Penalties are certainly applied by search engines but only when you have resorted to some undesirable activity like using cloaking, hidden text, doorway pages, keyword stuffing or link farms etc.Recovering from a penalty is long-drawn, but it is relatively simple. First, remove all suspicious stuff from your site including everything that a search engine might detest. Once you are certain there is nothing left on your domain that can be even remotely deemed fishy, then file a reinclusion request with the concerned search engine. Most of us in the field of search marketing are often obsessed with the ranking and try to make search engine ranking more complicated than it really is. There are innumerable ways to build a link. One could employ a range of keywords and adopt many innovative sources to drive traffic. The one popular method most people use is keyword density. There is no denying that if use the right and relevant keywords at appropriate places will got you the top rankings. It is advisable to use the keyword once or even a second time a variation of the keyword in the title tag provided it makes meaning and does not appear artificially thrust. The keyword may be deployed minimum three times in the content or if the content is large, a few more times. You can also make the keyword appear once in bold type. Make sure the keyword appears once in the alt tag of an image and again once in the URL. Avoid using keyword in link anchor text on the page itself. It is pointless indiscriminately over using the keywords all over the page, as it will not produce the expected results – although you may derive some extra value by going wild. There is what is known as Page Rank or link power. You can achieve this by providing internal links from your own site and external links from other sites. Here lies the secret. A page with an extraordinary amount of link power rank remarkably well in Google and Yahoo even if the sources are not particularly relevant and the keywords are sparingly used. This may not apply to MSN and certain other search engines which focus largely on keyword and subject on hand.Next, we should understand the importance of what those familiar with search engine call anchor text. By weighting the keywords and phrases pages used to link, browsers could get a clearer idea about the page contents and their relevance to particular subjects. The anchor text of links is becoming a critical part of the ranking equation, and if found abundantly, it can overshadow many other ranking factors. One can cite instances of web pages that are weak in all the other factors but ranking high primarily because they have acquired countless links with the precise anchor text of the phrase.Domain Authority is an assured way to feel your presence in the internet. To achieve this, you must operate your site in conformity with the engines established guidelines. Ensure you get lots of trustworthy sites to link to you. Merely being top-ranked in search engines will not do. You must exercise vigil and constantly monitor your behavior to stay at the top. Any indiscretion on your part can create problems again.

10 Quick Rules For Better Search Engine Ranking

November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you are setting up a website, follow these simple rules to improve search engine rankings of your site. You can also follow these techniques if your website is not ranked high in search engines for certain keywords. Concentrate on the home page of your site and once you learn the techniques, you will be able to apply them to the other pages of your site that will have multiple high ranking pages.
1. Find keywords (or key phrases) relevant to your website. Go to the overture keyword selector tool (type key phrase overture inventory in Google) and check the popularity of the keywords you want to use. Avoid highly popular keywords. Highly popular keywords are very competitive and the least popular keywords are search engine traffic starved.
Select a dozen keywords and key phrases from the middle of the list. This is a very important exercise and you should spend at least a couple of hours, if not more, researching different keywords. While you are researching your keywords, check your competitors by doing a search in a couple of popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc., using those keywords. Keep a record of your competitors’ urls and other information because you don’t want to waste your time doing the same search again in the near future.
2. Use the keywords you selected into the meta tags of your home page. Meta tags are located in the head section of a web page. Go to one of your competitor’s website and select View and then Source from your web browser’s menu to view the html source of the web page. You will see the meta elements.
The two important meta tags are keywords and description meta tags. Don’t leave them blank. You can list your keywords, separated by comma, in the keywords meta tag. Construct a catchy description using your keywords for the description meta tag.
3. Use the keywords in your title tag. The text you use in the title tag appears in the title bar of the web browser. The title tag should be less than 64 characters long. Again, the key is to use a meaningful title using the keywords. Don’t just make a laundry list of your keywords for the title tag.
The title tag and your meta description may end up in many search engine listings. So, spend sometime to make these two elements interesting, meaningful, and relevant to your site.
4. Use the keywords in top heading (h1) tags of your page. Use one keyword (or a key phrase) for each h1 tag. Use these h1 tags for the headings of your contents.
5. In the home page content, use bold, using the strong html element, to highlight some of your keywords.
6. Italicize some of the keywords in your page.
7. Use the keywords in alt tags of images. You should always use the alt tag for all images.
8. Encourage others to use the keywords for text anchors when they link back to your site. Better yet, publish your own short link text with keyword anchors, bold and italicized key phrases and give it away for link exchanges.
9. If possible, use the keywords in your domain name. Try different arrangements of the keywords to come up with an available domain name that you can register.
10. If you are using php or asp or any other web programming language for your dynamic website, make your url search engine friendly using url rewrite techniques. Search the phrase url rewrite in Google to know more about url rewrite.
Keep in mind these simple rules every time you want to launch a website. Spending a few days upfront in the preparation of your site will pay off in the long run with better search engine rankings.

SEO Tricks That Can Lower Your Site’s Ranking

November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Search Engine Optimization is a series of manipulated steps that a site takes to cater to search algorithms that mostly, search engines engage to determine the ranking of a particular site. In fact, various technical tools used as strokes for managing the ranking of the site often play a pivotal role. They can actually act as a catalyst and push up your site’s position in the SERPs. However, the abovementioned series are often knitted with certain SEO tricks which most of the sites entertain with the anticipation of enhancing their site’s ranking, but in reality, they become the most prominent reasons for the lowering of the positioning in the SERPs. Here, in this article, we will highlight such SEO traps that come with ambiguous results.Link Building through ServiceLink building can create a lot problem if done through an external source, as in this case, owners usually might lose control. Some non-serious outsourced link building service can run the very serious risk of linking your site with a site that is counted to be in a “Bad Neighborhood,” Such sites can largely affect your site’s ranking adversely. Hence, whenever you opt to build links, ensure to execute the process in a controlled environment, and with sites that are appropriate to your site’s content.Addition of numerous KeywordsOn adding a keyword to your site, either in the META tags or, in case of a blog, in the visible tags, ensure that the tags are relevant and in compliance with your content. Never engage random listing of words that you think may direct search engines to your site. Many site owners wish to keep short and non-repetitive words; however, technically, most of the leading search engines do not take into an account such words to decide rankings. In fact, if a site’s META tag list appears to be produced with the help of dictionary. Your chances of lowering your ranking get prominent. Same is the case with the titles on a site. The technique of adding extra keywords for the search engines to index is commonly termed as “Title Stacking”.Doorway PagesThe technique of doorway pages has always been quite enticing to make a lot of sub pages that direct to the information that your user seeks. It is basically a procedure where, user avails the information, and you receive a lot of pages that let you raise your rankings on a multitude of sets of most sought- after key words. However, in reality, this technique is not much approved by most search engines because these gateway sites have very less content with them. Moreover, the main focus remains to re-direct. Hence, it is suggested to avoid it all costs.Borrowing ContentIn case, you opt to possess content from another source like an article bank or another similar site, get ready to be dashed into these severe troubles. Sites that are believed to be using copy and paste content encounter serious tensions with the engines right away. Even, if you copy side note from another site’s content, you can wind up getting your own site removed wholesale. Under copywriting issues, you may also run the risk of getting sued.Hence, these are the certain sections where, we make use of some above specified tricks that ultimately results in an entire bundle of troubles and losses. It is best to avoid them and to engage in a more thoughtful, plan of internet marketing. In order to gain more information about the same, simply browse through brainpulse.com

Every website needs to increase online traffic to have a stronger presence on the Internet. One way of doing this is through high search engine ranking. Today it’s known to all internet marketing specialists that search engines can boost website traffic if managed appropriately.Search engines provide two types of listings: organic listings, and paid listings. Both methods could help increase online traffic to your website, but there’s some difference between these methods. If your website is optimized by an organic SEO specialist, you’ll gain organic listings and enjoy high search engine ranking. With paid listing services, you have to pay to be listed in search engine result pages. The more you pay, the higher you get listed.Best Practices to Increase Online TrafficAs mentioned earlier, organic SEO can help you be listed naturally high in the search engine result pages. So, Internet searchers can find you more easily (higher search engine ranking). Unlike paid listings, your website won’t be removed from these pages when you stop paying search engines. It sounds great to gain natural high search engine ranking. Here’s the important question: What’s the best way of getting highly listed in search engines?Organic SEO consultants recommend good content publishing or syndicating as the best method to increase online traffic. In other words, it’s information age. Web users go online to get information. There’s huge amount of information online. Yours should satisfy both human visitors and search engines. In all the methods, you have to make sure that you’ve selected the right keywords to lead the targeted traffic to your site. A huge amount of traffic, which isn’t targeted, will be a waste of time and money. Your niche-related key phrases should be first discovered. The next step you should do is to distribute your content on the web and create awareness for what you’ve got to say. This is done through the following methods:* Article Marketing,* Social Media Marketing,* Press Release Marketing,* Video Marketing,* RSS,* etc. When all the above methods lead Internet searchers to your site with keyword-rich content, you’ll manage to increase online traffic to your website. This will be targeted traffic, which can be more easily converted too. As you’ve achieved high search engine ranking for your niche-related key phrases, only potential visitors click to land at your web pages. Having Trouble Improving your Google Ranking?

November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Link popularity is defined as the number of sites that are linking to your site. Some websites have thousands or even millions of sites linking to them, while others might have only a few. The search engines use the number of inbound links your site has as a measure of how important your site is, which translates into your search engine ranking.

The actual number of links to your site is not the only variable used to calculate your link popularity. The search engines also examine the relevance of the links to the subject matter of your site. For example, if a website that sells vitamins has 4,000 inbound links, but the source of most of the links are websites that have nothing to do with vitamins, then the algorithm that search engines use to determine link popularity will take that into account, and the link popularity score will not be very good.

It is possible for a website with a relatively small number of quality inbound links to be ranked higher than a site with a bunch of irrelevant or insignificant links. If I have a website that offers quotes for auto insurance, and I have 800 quality inbound links, then I might receive a much higher search engine ranking than another mortgage site that has 3,000 links that stem from link farms or Free For All (FFA) pages.

If you try to acquire inbound by using link farms or FFA pages, not only will it hurt your search engine ranking, but you might get permanently removed from the search engine listings. Links farms are sites where you can instantly exchange links with all the sites listed in that directory. FFA pages are pointless link directories. The search engines usually discount any links that come from either of these sources.

Now that we understand what link popularity is and how it works, we need to look specifically at how Google measures it. They use a number of variables in their algorithm to calculate your overall link score. The higher your score, the higher you will be ranked in the search listings.

One factor that Google uses in their algorithm, obviously, is the total number of sites linking to you. The more links you have, the higher your score will be. However, their algorithm is a little more complicated than that, and it is possible for a website with fewer links to be ranked higher than a website that has more links.

The reason for this is because Google also measures the quality of your links. If your website is about vitamins, and the site linking to you is a video game site, then that is not considered a quality link. The link still helps your score, but the link would help your score much more if it were from a website whose subject matter is the same as yours.

Also, Google gives a higher score to a link if it comes from a page that has actual content that relates to your keywords. For example, if your site is about jewelry, and another jewelry website has posted a link to your site on their links page, that link is not as valuable as a link to your site coming from a blog or a message board where a lot of information about jewelry is being written or discussed.

Also, they give an even higher score to a link if it contains anchor text that matches one of the keywords that describes your site. For example, if I have a site that sells lawnmowers, and a blog about lawnmowers has posted a link to my site, it helps my score even more if the link text (also known as anchor text) is LAWNMOWERS. To learn more about anchor text, go to a search engine and look up ANCHOR TEXT and you will be able to learn about it.

Another factor used by Google to score your link popularity is the diversity of keywords contained on sites linking to you. For example, if you have a site that sells handbags, and all the links to your site are from other sites that contain nothing but the keyword HANDBAGS, Google considers that to be abnormal. To get a higher score, you need to have links coming from sites that contain a variety of keywords related to handbags, such as BUY HANDBAGS, LEATHER HANDBAGS, etc.

It is difficult to increase your link popularity, but now that you understand how your score is calculated, you can devise a plan to improve your score. You might want to consider posting to forums and blogs that contain information that is related to your site, and when you post, include a link to your site.
