Many assume that press releases are only a method used by business owners to bring media attention to their products or companies. This is quite true, however, press releases can also be a great way to sell affiliate products or a product that you own. Press releases tend to do very well in the search engines and they provide valuable back links to your website. In this case, you’re not writing your press release for the media but rather for the average reader.
Press releases, when submitted to the right companies such as PR Web, will give you tons of action in the search engines. This is because they have developed certain technologies that make their press releases very search engine friendly.
Another advantage is that you will have individuals and companies other than news reporters or media outlets, picking up your press release and placing it on their website. Subsequently, not only will you get back links to your press release but webmasters also publish them. This means that you are able to benefit from hundreds or even thousands of people reading your press release absolutely free.
When a company or an individual prints your press release on their website, you are automatically getting an endorsement and being exposed to a targeted market. All you had to do was create and submit your press release.
In order for your press release to be successful, there are a number of things that you must include. You will need to include the keyword or keyword phrase that you are targeting in the headline of your press release. You will also want to include it several times throughout the release. You obviously need to add links to your website also.
It is important to remember that press releases are not simply articles or advertisements. You do need to spend some time and learn how to write a quality press release. In order for your press release to be accepted by the top press release sites it has to be of high quality. You can’t just slap anything together, submit it and expect to receive results. On certain press release websites, you must receive a certain quality score before you get full distribution of your press release. Therefore, you will have to work very hard to ensure your press release is newsworthy and well written. If you cannot do this yourself, you may want to outsource this task to someone else.
Your better press release websites are not free. Typically, you will need to pay at least a small fee to get a good amount of distribution and to ensure that your website link is hyperlinked (clickable).
Releases are a fantastic way to sell affiliate products or even a product of your own. If you give them a try, you may be surprised at the amount of back links that you can quickly generate and also how well your press release and website does in the search engines. It is important to note that this is only true if you choose keywords or keyword phrases that are not ultracompetitive.

As the communication landscape changes and new, cutting edge ways of consuming information emerge, PR agencies and corporate public relations teams around the world must re-think the way they format news and deliver it to their target audience. The social media press release has radically altered the way PR professionals approach broadcasts and announcements.
* What is a Social Media Press Release?
Inspired by Tom Foremski of the Silicon Valley Watcher, a social media press release is a next-generation press release optimized specifically for online distribution and publication, such as placement in blogs, social bookmarking sites, RSS, and other similar mediums.
The social media press release is designed to facilitate rapid and widespread sharing of news, information, images, audio, video, and other content. Unlike traditional press releases that are notoriously packed with hype and marketing-speak, the social media press release is far more functional, focusing on just the most relevant and pertinent facts, and relaying them in a simple, concise, hyperlinked format that will appeal to bloggers and other online journalists.
The typical social media press release includes a summary of key highlights, a few expert quotes, links to background information embedded throughout the text, and tags that identify related coverage and other similar topics of interest – all written in a style that reflects the way people speak about the subject at hand. As a result, it is much easier for bloggers to post the information, and for online journalists to conduct their research, and find the quotes, references, statistics, and other data they need to write thorough and accurate stories.
Many social media press releases also include images, video, and other visually-oriented content, tying together various multimedia elements in a way that makes them easily adaptable and re-usable.
* Fast and Wide Distribution
Social media press releases provide faster distribution and wider broadcast coverage than old-school public relations channels can. A recent Pew Research report shows that the public is more Web savvy than ever before, and that Internet use has become a part of the typical consumer’s daily routine.
In fact, more than 50 percent of consumers polled indicated that they create and share content online. With the social media press release, companies are empowered to take their message directly to these consumers via the most popular and preferred formats, making it readily available and instantly accessible not just to reporters, but to anyone who is interested.
Social media press releases can also act as direct marketing and search engine optimization vehicles. News headlines can be delivered via RSS ads, so they are dynamically pushed directly to those who subscribe to similar topics. And, the inclusion of popular key words and phrases (particularly those that potential customers are likely to utilize when searching for the company’s products or services), as well as commonly-used jargon and acronyms, title tags, ticker symbols, and links to other Web content such as blogs and related articles, can give a boost to a company’s ranking in Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines.
* Social Media is Here To Stay
Most of the major wire services have recognized the importance of social media in today’s PR strategies, and have begun to expand their offerings accordingly. PRWeb and Pheedo provide RSS ads, track-back functionality, and the ability to tag and send out press releases via del.icio.us.
Additionally, PR Newswire and Business Wire have launched new social media features such as RSS Feeds. These services also now allow bloggers to access capabilities and functions within their sites that were previously only available to credentialed journalists.
* Social Media Press Release Template
Several PR firms adjust their tactics to take full advantage of the Internet for PR. You’ll notice more social media press releases from a number of Internet savvy PR firms and companies. An online search for “social media press release template” will lead you to examples, templates and ongoing blog conversations on the pros and cons of this next generation of press releases.
You’ll find that by following a social media press release template you can easily create compelling, highly-effective press releases structure specifically for distribution to media outlets and for obtaining comprehensive coverage.

Brian Johnson’s latest product, Seo Press Formula,, is launching on November the 6th. He has worked in internet marketing for just over six years full-time and this latest product (having only produced just two products ever to date) he reveals the ways he created traffic and sales on the internet Wordpress. In his own words, he aims to “share everything I know about wordpress and driving free search engine traffic for profit”. It is a basic statement, but does he manage to achieve what he set out to do?
SEO Press Formula comes bundled as an eBook of over 70+ pages and videos that relate back to several parts of the main eBook. The eBook goes over several sections but is mainly divided into just these parts: A look at web sites on the internet, setting up your blog and how to make it as SEO friendly as humanly possible, niche exploration, extra keyword research & information and then ends with some further information about web 2.0/video/social bookmarking websites. The material covered is presented well and is easy reading. There are over 20+ videos that offer a visual demonstration of some of the sections covered in the main eBook, but for people that are strapped for time and do not don’t feel like watching the videos to see if there is anything of use will find a basic description of what each video covers in the main eBook. In a nutshell, the main eBook details all the necessary steps someone should implement to set up a blog and making it SEO friendly so to attract as much traffic as possible based on the keywords they have chosen. Brian has tried to sell his material as a plan, hence the title Seo Press Formula. The main eBook is essentially what he considers to be the plan people need to execute if they wish to make cash making blogs. Taking that into consideration, let us look at where I believe the product fails to deliver.
The sales page for Seo Press Formula boldly claims “How I Made $21,192.61 in 90 Days” but the actual product in does not go into much depth or detail of how you could make those sales or income. Statements like this on sales pages should be taken with a grain of salt. Furthermore another let down is that half of the main eBook is dedicated to actually installing and making your blog SEO friendly (approx 40+ pages or so). A big portion of that material is basic and can easily found elsewhere online for no charge. To give an example one part covers how to install wordpress and another covers installing widgets like All in One SEO to improve the SEO factor of your blog. While most of the information covered in those pages is crucial and definitely can help your blog rank higher for your chosen keywords (such as permalinks etc), it seems to be that the norm for many products is that a big portion of the material is dedicated to basic or fundamental steps which leads me to personally consider this product is more for beginners or beginners with a little experience. Again, there is nothing bad about fundamental or basic information, but why aren’t authors writing 40+ pages on advanced material?
While more than half of the material is basic, a lot is covered and a lot if not all of the information given is valuable and isn’t fluff. A section I liked was that the author even suggests what sections you could skip or skim over if you already have some experience in blogs etc. Based on just how much is offered, there are bound to be parts that some beginners did not know about or have read about and just have not looked at in much detail. I think most people know that there are many steps one can do to improve the SEO ranking of a website and it is very easy to pass over some methods or tricks that you can use. It is in situations similar to this where I think the methods offered is a good refresher and can be good to jog your memory of what can be done to try and improve your SEO ranking. Another part about SEO Press Formula which I think offers some use for beginners is about niche exploration. While this does not mean the niche exploration is the same length as just creating and making your blog SEO friendly (more than 40 pages), but it does appear to offer some valuable information. Basic ways people can find possible niches (checking eBay etc), then scoping out competition and competing sites in addition to estimated keyword volume and using google trends to identify possible trends. The information found within is once more fundamental and very basic, but for a those starting out it should be of value. Usually, most products released often completely ignore market/niche selection or at best offer a couple of lines of what they call information but usually is nothing more than fluff. Lastly, at the end of the eBook there is a large resource area listing social book marking sites, rss directories and other resources folks can use to link to help improve the rank of your website. It is an extensive list and people should not really have any need to search for more places to submit to online as there are more than enough.
Is it of any value? I guess the best way to gauge this is by looking at what Brian set out to do with his new product. His original aim was to teach someone everything he knew about blogging and getting free traffic. Did he deliver? Basically I think he did and would say yes. There is a lot of information offered about creating blogs and then using different tactics to drive free traffic to it. I think when he talks about generating profit that he fails to deliver. I would say that the package basically focuses on blog creation and getting traffic based on different SEO tactics. Other than adsense or affiliate links not much in-depth detail or information is really given to generating profit. Personally Brian’s latest product does deliver, as long as you purchase it with the intent of learning as much as possible about making blogs SEO friendly and getting traffic. The information contained within is extensive but it is aimed more to beginners or intermediate beginners. People with any kind of experience will probably still find a tidbit or two of valuable information inside, but I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone who already had some knowledge in the area of blogging. In summary, if you are a beginner you stand to more than likely gain some good information from this product.

What is a Press Release?
Press releases are among the most effective ways – if not the most effective way – to get one-way links from high traffic news sites, but you must follow a certain set of guidelines or it will be nothing more than wasted time and your press release will never be published. A press release is a statement of announcement used for publishing and distributing company information or business news throughout the Internet via web media distribution channels. General news releases, event announcements, business news, new product release announcements, and social media news all qualify as valid content for a press release.
How Press Releases can help your SEO and Web Marketing
Press releases play a very important role in SEO and web site marketing. Currently, one-way links are more valuable to your search e rankings than ever before. This is due to the fact that two-way links – most often referred to as “reciprocal links” – have decreased in value with regard to Google’s “Page rank” system, with most others soon to follow if they have not already. With that in mind, playing an active role in generating news for PR web can serve as your best resource for getting one-way links and generating new traffic to your site without paying a dime. Be aware however, that credible PR web sites have strict criteria for the content that they publish. For example, it absolutely must be newsworthy, grammatically correct, without spelling errors, it must sound professional, and it must give the impression that a decent amount of time was put into it.
The benefit to you is that you may publish your company details including the services you offer, your web address and contact details along with your press release. Be careful not to make your press release sound like an advertisement though, or it will not be considered for publishing. The key here is to go into it with the objective of creating something valuable and informative for the reader.
There are a lot of news websites available that provide free services for publishing your news releases. The real advantage though, is that these websites provide services for distributing that news to subscribers of their news feeds. What this means, is that while you may publish your release to five PR web sites, it will likely end up on twenty or thirty different sites if it follows the criteria stated above. The important thing to remember is that the more valuable and informative that you make your content, the more it will be picked up by additional web sites. Here are some tips to keep in mind when writing your press release:
Tips for writing an effective press release:
1) The press release headline should be short, clear and to the point. Treat press release headlines and sub-heads as the ultra-compact version of your entire press release content.
2) Your press release summary should be informative. Try to avoid the use long sentences and lengthy paragraphs.
3) Start your press release with the “5 Ws” – who, what, when, where, why, and sometimes how. This will make your press release more enlightening and attractive to the editors of the sites you are publishing to.
4) Don’t forget to include your company information below the press release content. Prepare a brief summary of your company services with the contact details, your website name, and email id for communicating. Most PR sites offer a “company bio” section, which appears under the published release.

Word press is something about which only the internet geeks have heard about. It is a something that is very interesting and it can help you a lot if you want to make your website or blog look better. Word press themes are a good option to make your website or blog look different and more attractive. In this article, I will tell you the best three tips for choosing a word press theme for your website.
1- The first most important thing is the design of the theme. However, on the other hand choosing a design is rather simple too. Nevertheless, the tricky part in choosing the design is that the design must be compatible with your website or blog. This means that the visual of the design does counts but in accordance with your website or blog. You do not want to make it look awkward or anything like that. Therefore, you must make sure that the design that you are choosing will make your website or blog look better and more attractive. Apart from the design, you must also see other feature as well of the theme. This means that the theme, which you are choosing, must be flexible. A flexible theme allows you to customize your theme easily and according to your website or blog. This is important because if the word press theme is not flexible then you might not understand how to customize it on your own and you might have to pay another person to do so.
2- The second thing that you must keep in mind is the layout option of the word press theme. Make sure that the theme has several different layouts to choose from so that you can choose the one that fits your website or blog best.
3- The last but the most important thing that you must see in the theme is that it must have lifetime updates available free of charge. This is important because you do not want to pay for the updates of theme from time to time especially because you have paid for the theme.
These are the three tips that you must keep in mind when you are looking for a WordPress theme for your website or blog. These tips will help you to choose the best theme that is best for your website and that it will save you money on updates of the theme.

Comment Spam – a Huge Problem for Word Press Blog Owners
November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
The blogsphere is clogged with blogs about comment spam, but what exactly is comment spam? The first thing a blogger needs to establish is a clear definition. It is a form of spamindexing – in another sense, it is a form of splogging. This type of splogging hi-jacks blogs to advertise something instead of creating a fake website to promote it. The objective is to build links and increase their web pages rank.
The genius behind comment spam is impressive. Instead of creating a splog, or fake blog, a person will leave comments that includes a link to their website in other peoples blogs all across the Internet. This will raise their websites rank, and turns comment spam into another from of unsolicited junk mail.
Comment Spam is a white hat SEO trick. It is not wrong, but it is not right. Google has taken the first step against comment spam by banning or penalizing both the websites and the host blog. Wordpress blogs are hardest hit because most webmasters do not install the module that prevents people from entering a link into the comment. There are default tools, but few blog owners understand how to activate them.
These unwanted and malicious comments affect a blogs rank in both the weblogs and search engines. The blog is damaged as well as the web site. Heres how it works:
Google bases a web pages rank on the relevance of the content to the meta keywords and title.
Google also uses keyword anchored links and the content on the following page to establish rank. To explain this, lets say the blog is about flowers. The link in the reply uses the keywords make money and leads to a website on finance. This means the blog page, and the following website will decrease in rank.
The most common perpetrators are comment spam robots. They hit every available post from a single blog. The sly spam robots pose a major problem because they leave their ad, but they also leave little comments, great post – keep up the good work. This can be infuriating when attached to an editorial or something personal, like a story on spousal abuse.
There are ways of fighting back. Akismet, the spam catcher for Wordpress.com and many of their bloggers caught almost 2 million spam attempts in one day.
The first method to try is to install anti-spam plug-ins in Wordpress – and activate them. Both the Karma and Bad Word plug-ins need to be installed.
Another method involves skimming the blog, reading old posts and looking for the criminals who would violate your blogging attempts. One technique for foiling their attempts is to follow the link all the way to the affiliate site. Then, report them. Reputable companies WILL ban their affiliate link.
Little can be done for the kids who go through blogs and post comments about porn, or who simply like to swear and curse! Wordpress is working hard to stay ahead of this type of spam, though, and it is possible to update the file of abusive words.
CNet, January 9 2006, reported that comment spam is now illegal in the USA. This might have some effect, but only time will tell. Until then, use the plug-ins and stay informed.
