Choosing a Copywriter
November 24, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Copywriters come with many skill levels, talents, and experience. Choosing the best copywriter for your business will depend not only upon your needs, but also upon what you can afford to pay. But what do you look for when your company is small to medium-sized, and you simply don’t have that “BIG BOY” budget?
Writing is a skill that is learned and perfected, based upon someone’s natural ability to write and his willingness to constantly study his field. Many men and women consider themselves both freelance writers and copywriters based on the simple fact that they have their own websites and newsletters, have been praised by friends and family, and have sold a few pieces to other webmasters.
Technically, they are writers! But, are they the “type” of writer you are looking for? While there are many great writers and copywriters on the Internet who deserve a shot at being successful, not everyone is the perfect candidate for the job.
When looking for a copywriter for your business, consider the following:
• What’s the quality of work on his own site?
• What’s the quality of the work on his client’s site(s)?
• If you handed over a bunch of notes, could he make sense out of those notes?
• Does he ask questions to make sure he understands your needs?
• Is he willing to make changes quickly and cheerfully?
• When he speaks with you, does he make you feel important or inferior?
• If he’s writing for the web, can he add keywords and phrases in your copy, so that it still makes sense?
• Is he a yes man or will he thoughtfully discuss why your thinking won’t fit a piece and why?
• Does he offer suggestions that complement your piece and/or make it stronger?
• Is he reliable?
• What timeframe does he offer when getting your work done?
• Are his copywriting rates feasible and are they spelled out in clear detail?
• If the copywriter has never written for your industry before, do you have the patience to work with this writer until he has an intimate familiarity with your business and its terminology? If yes, does the copywriter show enough potential to warrant your time and money?
Once you’ve had a chance to interview copywriters based on the above questions, you’ll need to help your copywriter do his best job, by making sure that you have given him enough background information to understand your project. Information such as:
• Any published marketing materials
• Interoffice company memos
• Notes from business meetings
• Technical letters and product specs
• Your marketing plan
Above everything else, you need to make sure that you and your copywriter have the right “chemistry.” If you find your relationship tense, or always formal, you may want to find another copywriter. After all, success comes from “teamwork.”
So how much does a copywriter charge? Current rates vary from as little as $12.50 an hour (new writers) to well over $300 per hour! It’s true you get what you pay for, but if you’re company budget can’t afford to pay $100 or more an hour, you can still find a qualified, affordable copywriter to meet YOUR company budget.
Utilizing a more affordable copywriter may simply require a bit more of your involvement in exchange for a lower rate. You may need to provide more information so that the copywriter’s primary duty is to finesse the language and create dynamic text that will appeal to your intended audience–even if he doesn’t come to the table with a thorough background in your particular field.
Using PPC Advertising For Maximum Web Promotion
November 21, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Participating in (PPC) pay-per-click advertising has advantages and disadvantages in and of itself. What exactly can PCC advertising do, and how does it work?
When advertising products and services, business are becoming very discerning about the methods used. The high rates of placing ads in print and on television are forcing businesses to do so. However, there is a quickly growing technique which businesses can utilize to bring their services closer to the people–Internet Marketing.
Pay-Per-Click advertising is advancing in acceptance in the internet marketing community. In this method that is utilized in search engine marketing, you must pay a fee each time an ad is clicked on your website. A bidding process is the method by which placement happens. The top spot in the search engines will be granted to the top bidder for those keywords/phrases. To optimize the number of clicks, be sure your ad copy is highly effective.
Here are the benefits of PPC advertising:
1. You don’t have to know a lot about computers and technology to take advantage of this type of advertising campaign.
2. You can see results almost immediately, often after just a few days.
3. Your site is not required to conform to SEO regulations.
4. Even if you do not top the pages of different search engines, you still have options. The option to select PCC advertising is still there.
5. Any search engine can be used.
6.Any keyword is acceptable.
Pay-Per-Click advertising also has its downside:
1. You must make monthly payments to the search engine you have selected.
2. Every click your site receives incurs a charge. Sometimes pranksters playing jokes on search engines, or the competition will visit. These people are wasting your advertising dollars.
3. Monthly payment is required to prevent removal of your website from paid listings.
4. Because this advertising is difficult to manage long-term, it can only be used for a short time.
5. Since pay-per-click advertising is proven to be expensive over long periods of time, this should be ended after each ad campaign.
But what exactly does PPC advertising do to generate traffic, leads, and sales?
Traffic that is Pre-Qualified.
Everyone who visits your website is, by definition, already qualified as a consumer or purchaser of your product. PPC advertising brings customer traffic to you at a lower cost.
Instant Exposure and Immediate Profits
Pay-Per-Click search engines help you to meet your goals quickly. They can have your website up and running in a matter of hours, and this means the ability to boost sales more quickly.
Consistent Top Listings
Follow these rules and guidelines to have your site at the top of the sponsored search results for free. Simply pick out some keywords that apply to your company and place them on your site. After completing this, you are finished.
Advertising using PPC enables advertisers to regulate their customer traffic. Advertisers have found their niche with the intended group and determined their individual price per click. Pay per click advertising networks will target the potential customers for your site by geographic setting, topic and industry. Publisher websites are listed to provide options to place ads.
To assess how the pay per click limit is working for a certain advertiser, tools are provided by the networks. Do the pay per click listings generate sales? Higher bids increase chances of visibility in the search engine. These networks will also provide advertisers with fraud protection. Advertisers can spend less for unnecessary clicks by setting a daily advertising budget, and can assure they stay within their budget by utilizing this set-up.
Keywords and phrases are key factors in PCC advertising. Your success depends on the selection of at least ten “highly specific” keywords. Write the ad creatively, but be straightforward. It is imperative to be honest about your product or service. It’s great if your product delivers what the ad promises — but what if it doesn’t? The clarity of the ad is important to those relying on your ad’s promise. Use very specific language. Listing the price should always be any important detail.
Your bids should be conservative yet appropriate to your market.
A mid-range price is important because if you overbid you will only lose your money and if you underbid your ads run the risk of never showing up. Compare your profit against what you are spending. You should drop your ad campaign if you see no results from it, or are losing money.
Pay-Per-Click advertising will continue to develop more rapidly than any other online advertising technique; more and more advertisers have been using it. Revenues from PPC advertising have risen from $2.6 billion in 2004 to $5.5 billion in 2009, and as a result, cost per click is expected to also rise substantially from $0.29 to $0.36.
A relative newcomer to online marketing, PPC advertising is destined to be around for many years to come. The advantages for advertisers are increased revenues with fewer expenses leading to more savings, higher sales potential, higher return of investment (ROI), and more effective future ad campaigns.

Make Money With Google Adwords
November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Make Money Online With Google AdWordsby Bing Zou
More and more people in today’s world use the Internet as a tool to get or sell product, service or information.
The trend is that most of those users use keywords search, not directories or categories. Google holds the half market of keywords search.
Meanwhile, PPC (pay per click) campaign has hit the web like a storm. Pay per click campaign attracts much more interest from both advertisers and webmasters.
Keywords or key phrases are terms that a possible client would use to find your product or service. Keywords research is a continuous never-ending process that can help increase traffic and attract targeted visitors.
The best answer for PPC campaign to promote your products (including affiliate programs) is Google AdWords. To select your affiliate programs, the easiest way is to sign up to ClickBank, Commission Junction and LinkShare.
Google has leveraged their market share as the internet’s top search engine to deliver their version of the pay per click advertising model. Sign up for the AdWords program is free and they only require a $5 USD deposit before they will start to display your ad. It’s easy to run and control.
Google’s AdWords service has brought success to many businesses by providing them with a large amount of highly targeted traffic from as little as 1 cents per visitor. However, there is probably an equal number of webmasters who have paid for AdWords and seen little benefit or have indeed made substantial losses. If the latter applies to you, then the following may be useful to you.
The problem with Google AdWords is that it has become very difficult to find keywords at a reasonable price. Bidding on keywords like “make money online” or something in that range will kill your advertising budget in no time.
In my personal experience, it seems that a good market will be between 40,000 to 100,000 searches for that particular month. Less than that may be a weak market, and more than that could be too competitive. To find out for sure, you can use the Overture bidding tool for a particular word or phrase, and look at the third bid, it should be at least .30 up to $2.00. Again, less than .30 could be weak and more than $2.00 could be too competitive. You know, Overture is similar to Google AdWords, just it shows you the bid list.
For keywords selection, the best one is Ad Word Analyzer 3.0. You can “Discover the Quick and Easy Way to Drive Massive Amounts of Laser-Targeted Traffic to Your Site Today”. Please pay more attention on Targeted Traffic. I want to say “only targeted traffic will soar your sale”.
It seemed not very difficult to make profit online with Google AdWords: just join an affiliate program, promote it on Google Adwords and get commissions.
However, you have to learn more about Google AdWords for your living. But the more you learn, the more you will make. I believe it is your new lifestyle to make money online with Google AdWords.

Does Your Business Blog Follow the Law of Reciprocity?
November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
You may read this and be thinking “What on earth is the Law of Reciprocity?” If you don’t know what it is, then you are now going to learn some powerful information that will make a big difference to how you connect with your readers, visitors and customers.
Reciprocity is very powerful for anyone starting an online business here’s what it means:
Reciprocity
“A reciprocal condition or relationship. A mutual or cooperative interchange of favors or privileges, especially the exchange of rights or privileges of trade between nations.”
You may have heard of these phrases ‘You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours’ or ‘Do unto others as you would like others to do unto you’. If you are aware of these two phrases then you are on the right track to understanding what reciprocity is all about.
Basically, it means when someone offers us a favor or information without us having to do anything to receive it, we normally feel obliged to do a kind turn in return to that person. This is the Law of Reciprocity – but it goes a lot deeper than just exchanging a reciprocal favor.
When you are connecting with your customers or clients you should be providing MORE than they were expecting. To under promise and over deliver your services or products is the way to gain long-term loyal customers and build strong relationships for the future.
If you look again at the meaning of the Law of Reciprocity above you will notice the first part states ‘A reciprocal arrangement or relationship’ … this is exactly what you should be cultivating in your online business between you and your customers.
