Using Social Media For Your Real Estate Business

November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you are interested in using social media for your real estate business then you should try it. You will find there are many benefits to this type of marketing. It is a more personal approach for people who are searching online and it can allow people to see a property up close and personal. This also can save from wasting anyone’s time on looking at a property.
Using social media for your real estate business is a great idea because it creates a personal feel for your website. When people can see you talking then they almost feel as if they know you personally. If you offer the ability for people to chat live with you then it is even better because they get to meet you in person. Social media is a smarter approach because discussing real estate with people through email is not very personal. People are vulnerable when they are looking for a home because it is usually one of the biggest decisions people make in their lives. That is why the entire process should be made personal.
Another benefit to using social media for your real estate business is that you can give people the opportunity to see a home over the computer. If you have cameras setup then you can offer virtual tours and have them online. This allows people to decide if they like a home or not. This means you will waste less time showing homes to people who are not interested. Each time you go to a home then the people are more serious about the buy. When you don’t use social media and offer an opportunity for people to see a home for sale then they might absolutely love the outside of the home and have to get inside. Once they get inside the home they hate everything about it. This has probably happened to you a million times in the past, but you can really minimize situations like this by using social media for your real estate business.
Social media is also another way people are marketing their businesses today and you can too. It is proving to be true that people online are more interested in social media sites than those with plain text. If you offer something interactive for the user then they are more apt to pay attention. Creativity is important. However, you should be sure to provide useful information that the viewers can benefit from with your business. Social media is also used to generate larger traffic to a business website and it really works.
There are many ways for using social media for your real estate business. You can create a more personal and up close feel for your business while prospects are about to make one of the biggest decisions of their lives. You can also give potential buyers the opportunity to view homes in advance so you and the buyers save time. In addition, social media can help improve your website and generate more traffic which could lead to more sales.

6 Reasons Why You Need to Have a Blog With Your Website

November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Blogs are powerful marketing tools that can help you reach more customers, establish credibility, increase sales, and share company news without having a huge advertising budget.

Blogs have a number of advantages that make them highly effective in promoting your business:

1. You don’t have to be a tech geek to start a blog.

Anyone can do it, and sites like Blogger can help you create and publish your blog in less than 5 minutes.

2. Blogs can boost your search engine ranking.

The content of your blog is ripe for the search engines and encourages other bloggers who write on similar topics to link to you. Regularly updated, keyword-rich content (not spam) and linking will help boost your site’s visibility and in turn attract more customers.

3. Blogs offer multiple ways to deliver your message. If you’re not the best writer, you can start an audio or video blog and can therefore still reach your customers in a personal way.

4. Blog posts encourage immediate responses from your customers.

Questions, comments and feedback from your customers can help you better address their needs, adjust your campaigns, and react to the market’s changing demands.

5. Blogs help you expand your reach online.

By pinging search engines and using RSS feeds you can syndicate your content online, boost your reach and influence, and allow customers to control their communications with your company.

6. Blogs increase transparency and help you establish credibility.

Blogs are much more personal than a corporate website and because they are regularly updated, customers can remain informed about your business and feel more connected to you. Your blog can be your selling point and can sway prospective customers to choose you and your services over the competition.

Blogs are about communicating and building relationships with your readers. Use your blog for branding your business, building your reputation and communicating with your audience ‘ not just for making a sale.

There are a variety of ways you can use your blog to communicate with your readers and promote your business, while unobtrusively going after the sale. You can use your blog to:

· Write product reviews and link to product pages (consider signing up to be an affiliate)

· Write insightful articles or tips relevant to your audience

· Recommend products and services (yours or someone else’s)

· Post and archive company newsletters

· Share company news and product updates

· Offer special incentives and promotions

· Ask customers to complete surveys and provide feedback

Generating new content for your blog does not have to be a daunting task. You don’t have to worry about writing it all yourself. Instead, you can directly post your company newsletters as well as relevant third-party articles, reviews, and links found using sites like StumbleUpon and Google News.

Remember to include links where appropriate to your own website and product pages. Having a blog also allows you to make regular updates quickly and without needing a webmaster.

A blog is a highly effective tool in promoting your business, so start now

Free Twitter Tools: Tools For Twitter to Automate, Systmatize, and Amass Thousands of Followers!

November 6, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Okay, so I’ll admit it. I wasn’t the first to jump on this Twitter Bandwagon. I just didn’t understand the point of it. C’mon… what can someone possibly say in just 140 characters?

Twitter itself is a microblog. I consider is a condensed personal website: a place for me to share my thoughts, feelings, recommendations and insights, while connecting with like minded individuals.

In a few minutes per day, you can amass hundreds if not thousands of followers in a matter of weeks. In fact, I’ve only been actively using twitter for one month, and I already have 2000 followers! Can you believe that?

But like anything I look for tools.

Free Twitter Tools that can help us systematize, automate, customize… the whole works!

I found some great tools that I wanted to share with you today with how to implement twitter in your day-to-day life, without becoming a nusance or a hassle.

Free Twitter Tool #1 – TweetDeck
tweetdeck.com

I had no idea HOW to navigate twitter or retweet or DM or whatchamacallit til I downloaded TweetDeck. It’s an application you can have going on in the background of your computer that puts your twitter account into easy to read columns. Column one is your following’s tweets. Column two is incoming messages/retweets. Column three is private direct messages (or DM’s).

You can also tweet directly from TweetDeck, customize with beautiful colors, and interlink with Facebook status updates.

Free Twitter Tool #2 – TweetLater
tweetlater.com

Ahhh…the productivity tool for busy tweeple.
~ Schedule tweets for a specific day and time. “Set it and forget it!”
~ Track keywords in tweets
~ Automate DM’s to new followers of yours
~ Unfollow those who unfollow you – automatically!
~ Purge your DM inbox to keep it tidy
… and so much more!

I love TweetLater because I am able to schedule my set tweets for the day. These include specific quotes, blogs, articles, Bible verses that I want to share. Systematically and consistently each day. Then, throughout the day and week, I can go in my twitter and add random tweets and talk to people… but I’m not being sporadic. I find that consistency/practicability works best with Social Media.

Free Twitter Tool #3 – BubbleTweet

Free Twitter Tool #4 – Custom Twitter Backgrounds

mytweetspace.com
twitterimage.com
twitwall.com
twitterpatterns.com
colourlovers.com

I read it best: “Generic is only good for prescriptions!”

Twitter currently offers 12 stock backgrounds along with pleasing preset colors for the elements on the page. You can also modify the colors of the overall background, text, links, sidebar background and the sidebar border. The first thing any twitter user should do is CHANGE the generic background, unless you don’t like standing out from the crowd, in which case you can stop reading now.

Switching backgrounds and changing the color palette of your Twitter page is easy to do. Simply select “Settings” in the top row of links on your Twitter page, click on the “Design” tab and then either select a “theme” or click on “Change background image” or “Change design colors” and get creative.

Don’t worry about goofing anything up. Any changes you make will not be visible to anyone but you until you click “save”. It doesn’t matter what kind of background you upload or create for your twitter page, just make it about you!

(Not all all) Free Twitter Tool #5: Twitter Friend Adder
(sorry, I couldn’t leave this awesome tool out just because it costs money!)

Hey, in the beginning, you probably can do this manually. But the best way that I’ve grown my twitter following by 2000 people in about 30 days was by using Twitter Friend Adder.

It’s $50, one time, can you can use the software for life! Add 90-110 friends (ie: you follow them) per day. Etiquette with twitter is that you follow back. So naturally, this is going to grow your follower base!

But remember, people won’t follow for long if:

A) You haven’t uploaded a picture of yourself and customized your page (see Tool #4)
B) You aren’t actively communicating with anyone (I have about 30 people I talk to weekly)
C) You have WAY more following than followers. So try to keep it even alright?
