Free Twitter Tools: Tools For Twitter to Automate, Systmatize, and Amass Thousands of Followers!
November 6, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Okay, so I’ll admit it. I wasn’t the first to jump on this Twitter Bandwagon. I just didn’t understand the point of it. C’mon… what can someone possibly say in just 140 characters?
Twitter itself is a microblog. I consider is a condensed personal website: a place for me to share my thoughts, feelings, recommendations and insights, while connecting with like minded individuals.
In a few minutes per day, you can amass hundreds if not thousands of followers in a matter of weeks. In fact, I’ve only been actively using twitter for one month, and I already have 2000 followers! Can you believe that?
But like anything I look for tools.
Free Twitter Tools that can help us systematize, automate, customize… the whole works!
I found some great tools that I wanted to share with you today with how to implement twitter in your day-to-day life, without becoming a nusance or a hassle.
Free Twitter Tool #1 – TweetDeck
tweetdeck.com
I had no idea HOW to navigate twitter or retweet or DM or whatchamacallit til I downloaded TweetDeck. It’s an application you can have going on in the background of your computer that puts your twitter account into easy to read columns. Column one is your following’s tweets. Column two is incoming messages/retweets. Column three is private direct messages (or DM’s).
You can also tweet directly from TweetDeck, customize with beautiful colors, and interlink with Facebook status updates.
Free Twitter Tool #2 – TweetLater
tweetlater.com
Ahhh…the productivity tool for busy tweeple.
~ Schedule tweets for a specific day and time. “Set it and forget it!”
~ Track keywords in tweets
~ Automate DM’s to new followers of yours
~ Unfollow those who unfollow you – automatically!
~ Purge your DM inbox to keep it tidy
… and so much more!
I love TweetLater because I am able to schedule my set tweets for the day. These include specific quotes, blogs, articles, Bible verses that I want to share. Systematically and consistently each day. Then, throughout the day and week, I can go in my twitter and add random tweets and talk to people… but I’m not being sporadic. I find that consistency/practicability works best with Social Media.
Free Twitter Tool #3 – BubbleTweet

Free Twitter Tool #4 – Custom Twitter Backgrounds
mytweetspace.com
twitterimage.com
twitwall.com
twitterpatterns.com
colourlovers.com
I read it best: “Generic is only good for prescriptions!”
Twitter currently offers 12 stock backgrounds along with pleasing preset colors for the elements on the page. You can also modify the colors of the overall background, text, links, sidebar background and the sidebar border. The first thing any twitter user should do is CHANGE the generic background, unless you don’t like standing out from the crowd, in which case you can stop reading now.
Switching backgrounds and changing the color palette of your Twitter page is easy to do. Simply select “Settings” in the top row of links on your Twitter page, click on the “Design” tab and then either select a “theme” or click on “Change background image” or “Change design colors” and get creative.
Don’t worry about goofing anything up. Any changes you make will not be visible to anyone but you until you click “save”. It doesn’t matter what kind of background you upload or create for your twitter page, just make it about you!
(Not all all) Free Twitter Tool #5: Twitter Friend Adder
(sorry, I couldn’t leave this awesome tool out just because it costs money!)
Hey, in the beginning, you probably can do this manually. But the best way that I’ve grown my twitter following by 2000 people in about 30 days was by using Twitter Friend Adder.
It’s $50, one time, can you can use the software for life! Add 90-110 friends (ie: you follow them) per day. Etiquette with twitter is that you follow back. So naturally, this is going to grow your follower base!
But remember, people won’t follow for long if:
A) You haven’t uploaded a picture of yourself and customized your page (see Tool #4)
B) You aren’t actively communicating with anyone (I have about 30 people I talk to weekly)
C) You have WAY more following than followers. So try to keep it even alright?

Why Twitter is a Must for Online Business?
November 4, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Oh Twitter how I love thee! Although you might not hear those exact words said very often online, you know it’s true when you login to your Twitter account or visit someone’s blog. With the emergence of WordPress plug-ins like “TwitThis” and the various twitter badges found on numerous blogs throughout the Internet, it is obvious people adore Twitter. Just what is it that makes this social networking site so lovable? Let’s find out.
The question posed by Twitter, “What are you doing?” has become almost as popular as AOL’s “You’ve got mail.” So much so that it has even caught the eye of offline news mediums such as USA Today, CNN, and ABC. This helps to make the application popular all on its own. Those who think Twitter is just a place for computer or Internet geeks can rest assured it’s nothing of the sort.
For many, Twitter is a way to interact with like-minded individuals. Whether one is a stay at home mom who craves adult conversation, an at home worker who misses the water cooler chit-chat from past jobs, or the business owner who wants to reach more of their target market, this form of social media fills a need. It makes it easier for people to connect with others in a way they might not have previously been able to.
The fact Twitter is easily accessible and even simpler to navigate makes it a favorite as well. Anyone can create a twitter account of their own with nothing more than a user name and a password. Once that’s done, it’s easy to customize your profile and begin following other tweeps, as those who use Twitter affectionately call one another. To follow what another person is doing, just visit their page and click the follow button. You’ve now been added as a follower and when you login to your account you will see their messages on your screen.
Want to use Twitter even when you’re not at home or don’t have access to your computer? No problem. Inside your account you can choose whether to have messages sent via cell phone or instant messenger programs as well. Just browse to your settings and choose the devices tab and in a few steps you’re good to go. This feature makes it possible to tweet on the go. This is perfect for those who travel frequently or while out and about come across something interesting or amusing that they’d like to share with their followers.
Twitter’s arrival has also lead to the creation of different platforms and applications to make it appealing to just about everyone. Popular applications include, Twitter Fox, Twhirl, TweetDeck, and TweetMyBlog. Twitter Fox and Twhirl give users who are prefer the instant messaging look and feel a way to use Twitter in somewhat the same manner. Twitter Fox is an extension for the Firefox browser and Twhirl is a desktop application.
TweetMyBlog is a way to automatically post updates from a user’s blog to Twitter. In order to use it all one needs is a Twitter account and an RSS feed from their blog. It will automatically posts a tweet using your account when your blog is updated.
Tweet Deck is another desktop application that allows for more organization of updates. Instead of posting all a users tweets one right after another, it allows the user to organize tweets into separate columns within the application. For those who have customers and friends on Twitter this is a great feature.

Twitter Following – Get More Followers Today
October 25, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Twitter has grown in popularity almost exponentially since its arrival on the web. Twitter is a social networking site. People who start twitter accounts can you use them for various different things. The idea is to start connecting with other similarly minded individuals when you start an account. There will be people who will take interest in what you have to say and, or offer. The people that show interest will become known as your followers. The people who are classified as your followers will be simple for you to reach so that you can update them about things of various natures. Of course, you can also ask them questions or carry out any other conversations.
When you converse on Twitter, you are tweeting. A tweet is the unique 140 character message that allows you to communicate with others on Twitter. You may be thinking “why only 140 characters?” Don’t worry the limit is actually a good thing. It keeps the conversation lively and prevents it from bogging down like a long email or chat.
Twitter can be used for both business and personal reasons. You can keep in touch with friends and family and quickly let them know what you are doing or where you are (you can tweet from your cell phone!) If you are running a business, Twitter can be a great way to broadcast news and updates to your customers.
Now that you know what twitter is, you may be wondering just exactly how you get followers. Of course, the first and obvious step is to begin communicating with other twitter users. This can be as simple as conversing about a website that is beneficial to you, a blog that interested you, any current events or a myriad of other things. Another good way to communicate is by answering questions or pointing people in the right direction. People will greatly appreciate your help and be more receptive to following you. These people may or may not tell other people about you, but there is always the chance that they do, which is highly beneficial to you. Being kind is another great way to gain followers on twitter. This step is closely linked to the latter step and is simple enough to accomplish. If someone on twitter does some sort of favor for you, whatever it may be, always make sure that you thank them. The word will spread about you more quickly if people like you.
Another obvious way to gain a larger twitter following is to add value to your network. By becoming a person who tweets mostly interesting links and other media, more people will follow you. This is because you are providing valuable information to them and so you are an asset. Of course, you will want to participate in other twitter websites. By being active in their blogs or buying their products, you can keep and build a larger following. Showing interest in your followers is a wise idea. You may also want to help your followers promote their products or media. This is just another chance to get your own name out there on the twitter network as much as possible.
