Search engine optimisation (SEO) copywriting is the technique of writing effective text that is not only viewer friendly but targets specific search terms by placing keywords/search terms strategically within the text and other on-page elements such as title, headings, meta tags etc which optimises the chances of your webpage being ranked highly by search engines such as Google, MSN, yahoo etc because of it.
The dual purpose of copywriting for SEO is therefore to clearly increase search engine visibility which in turn increases targeted traffic to your webpage.
While it’s tough enough to come up with great web copywriting, SEO content writing is given the additional task of pleasing the search engine spiders i.e. trying to match with the criteria (algorithm) of search engines, which are always fluctuating, thereby changing the rankings of web pages accordingly.
While Search Engine copywriting is therefore not a sure shot way of keeping stable rankings, owing to constant algorithm changes made by engines now and then, it is however quite successful.
It is recommended by practitioners of copywriting for SEO to keep the word count to 250-400 viewable words per page with at least two targeted search terms used in on-page elements, as well as, strategically placed within the text. Having relevant textual content and enough back-links i.e. links from other website’s to yours are other elements included in this method.
SEO copywriting services are aplenty but having said that it is a very expensive option. Being a specialized field in itself, hiring SEO copywriting services do not come cheap especially when there is stress on each page which can target only 1-2 search terms, the process is long and tedious.
In the competitive rush to gain top rankings in search engines, SEO copywriting in India has proved successful to a number of websites.
SEO copywriting in India is not only relatively economical but also comprehensive. It’s advisable that one take up the services of reputed SEO copywriting companies in India that provide website marketing and positioning solutions to increase your rankings.

The challenge that is encountered with most online business people is internet marketing tactics. Yet for your internet business to be successful you must device business promotion strategies that have been proven to produce positive results. Important to note, is that online marketing usually requires patience, online promotion strategies and internet marketing knowledge.
When designing your blog, include HTML heading tags. Some search engines use HTML title and sub title heading tags to CRAWL sites. In addition, add META tags between your title, this are keyword phrases that best explain the content on your website/blog and search engines use them in their search results description. Research and learn on how best to use HTML and META tags from internet marketing gurus.
Make it easy for your target visitors to read through the content on your blog by using a white background and black text color. It is also not recommended to use animations on your blog/website since they are very irritating to your readers but if you decide use them, do it in moderation. Animations also make it difficult for your target audience to recommend others to your website/blog.
In order to avoid visitors exiting fast and hence resulting in a high bounce rate, ensure it is easy to navigate thorough your website. If you design a complicated blog or website, it will discourage your target visitors from staying longer and thus not take action in case you are selling stuff.
It therefore goes to prove that online marketing is not just about advertising, but the design of your blog/website is imperative especially if you want your target audience to recommend others.

When considering utilizing search engine optimization methods to help improve your website’s overall ranking in search engines, here are some “facts” and “myths” about SEO:
Fact: Google, Yahoo and MSN are considered the “Big 3″ when it comes to search engines.
Yes, it’s true. In fact, just over 95% of all Internet searches are conducted using either Google, Yahoo and MSN. This leaves less than 5% percent for all of the other search engines combined.
Myth: There are 1,000 search engines on the Internet.
Nope. Not true. If you see an advertisement saying “we’ll submit your site to 1,000 search engines”, then they probably also want to sell you a bridge in Brooklyn. Actually, there are only 40 or so true search engines. The rest of them are actually using search engine results from Google, Yahoo, MSN or a combination of all three.
Fact: Search Engine Optimization is not a “one-and-done” process.
Good SEO is an on-going progress. You have to do so many things – and do them right – to get ranked at the top of search engines. Then, once you have earned those high rankings, you have to work twice as hard to keep your site there. Afterall, when you moved into the top spots, you’ve bumped someone. Rest assured, they are going to start working harder to regain that spot.
Myth: You can trick search engines.
Go ahead and try. And, when you get caught, your website will be banned from search engines. There are all kinds of tricks search engine optimization consultants try and, yes, you might get ranked No. 1 in Google for your “black hat” efforts. But, when you get caught – and you will – your site will be doomed for a long time.
Fact: Search engines love fresh content.
Definitely. Just like people, search engine spiders (also called “robots”) will come back to your site often when you write and publish fresh content.
Myth: Search engines don’t look at Meta Tags anymore.
Wrong. Search engines do look at Meta Tags. Typically, they don’t put much faith in what you’ve written there as the gospel, but they’ll come back and look more at your site content to verify what keywords you’re concentrating on.
Fact: Links will help get your site ranked higher.
True. However, create “backlinks” with sites that have a Google Page Rank of 5 or better. Avoid link farms. Don’t pay for links and, if you can help it, don’t trade links with everyone on the web.
Myth: The more links you have the better.
Wrong. Be selective. Get good quality sites to publish a link to your site. Don’t pay to be listed in directories (with the exception being in Yahoo Directory). Avoid link farms (these are sites that are just a bunch of links).
Fact: A Sitemap is a good thing to have.
True. While a Sitemap, especially a Google Sitemap, will not guarantee a higher ranking in Google, it will help you make sure that all of the pages in your site are being crawled by Google.
Myth: Pay-Per-Click is not worth it.
False. If your website is not listed high in organic search engine results, then you should consider a pay-per-click (PPC) campaign. Yes, some click fraud does exist, but if you opened a retail store, you’ll probably be a victim of shoplifting at some point. Instead, create a smart campaign and stick to a budget. Then, perhaps as your organic rankings improve, you may consider backing off the PPC campaign. Or, perhaps not!

If you’ve been following along with the SEO Brain Freeze series and using your own website as a guinea pig, by now you should have researched your keyword phrases, created a keyword phrase map, tested out terrific Title tags, managed to make marvelous Meta description tags and have written awesome keyword rich copy for the most important pages of your website.
Phew! Are you tired yet? You may very well be, but I bet you don’t have SEO brain freeze!
If you have done all of the above on-page work correctly and have uploaded everything to your server, after a month or two you should most likely be seeing a substantial increase in targeted search engine traffic. The good news is that if you’ve done everything right, this targeted traffic will continue to increase for quite awhile — good SEO work only gets better over time. (It’s only search engine tricks that need to keep changing when the ranking algorithms change.)
That said, on-page SEO as I’ve been teaching you so far in this series, is only half the battle. The search engines also place a ton of emphasis on the popularity of your website as a whole. The way they measure this popularity is via links, i.e., which websites link to yours and how prominent they are. The more links from popular websites pointing to yours, the more popular your own website becomes in terms of its traffic and its importance in the eyes of the search engines.
If you’ve been working on a website that’s been around for a few years, chances are that it already has a number of links pointing to it from other websites. Depending on what you are offering on your site and how competitive those offerings are, you may or may not already have enough links to gain a leg up in the search engines. If there aren’t tons of other sites already offering the same or similar products, services and/or information, it may not take more than a handful of good quality links to do the trick. On the other hand, if you are in a more competitive space (and those are growing every day), you will probably need to put some effort into making sure that your website goes beyond what everyone else is offering. You just can’t do the same thing as everyone else online and expect to get very far.
The other necessary step to popularize your website is to get the word out about it. In order to do this, you need to find out where your target market is hanging out online and become part of those communities. I’m not talking about going in and dropping links to your website at relevant forums and blogs here. I’m talking about becoming an actual part of the conversation. You must become a recognized participant. It is only then, that what is now known as “social media marketing,” can work for you.
One of the reasons this form of marketing works is that people like to do business with those that they know. If you are part of the same online community as someone, and you have daily or weekly contact with them there, you really do become friends of a sort. When they’re looking for products or services such as yours, it makes sense that they would think of you first. It also makes sense that if they have the opportunity to tell others about you, your business and your website, that they will do so because they like you. They may do that through word of mouth referrals, but they may also do that by linking to your website from their own.
There are other opportunities to become part of the online conversation such as starting a blog or an email newsletter. But be forewarned, if you go these routes, there will be a whole lot of work involved. Reaching a critical mass of readers doesn’t happen overnight. Yet, if you work hard at it by keeping a schedule and writing unique and compelling content, eventually you will find it will pay off for you in the same way as participating in other communities does. Only in this case, it can pay off even more because you have the ability to really showcase yourself and even position yourself as an expert if you so choose.
Blogs are more fashionable than email newsletters these days, but I’ve personally found huge success out of my email newsletter in terms of bringing targeted visitors to my website who convert into customers. (The newsletter the High Rankings Advisor if you’re interested in subscribing!)
However you choose to do it, just know that you can’t simply stick up your website and then sit back and wait for people to notice it. You will have to work a lot of long hours making it great and getting the word out about it. Websites are no different than any other business – they all need marketing to survive.

If you are new to it, getting your website to be Search Engine Optimization (SEO) friendly can be difficult. The following tips and tricks can help guide you in the right direction!
SEO Website Prep
The first step is to make sure your site is SEO ready. Here are some tips to know:
Keywords: Obviously this is the big one. The best way to find the most appropriate keywords is to go to Google.com and sign up for their AdWords program. You don’t have to pay and they have a cool Keyword Tool which allows you to see the search volume for keywords you are interested in using. This will help you use the keywords that are the most popular. Keep the keywords between 200 to 250 characters & use a keyword density between 2% to 7%. The keyword density is simply the number of keywords divided by the number of total characters.
Title: The title on the index page should be between 10 to 150 characters long. The title should be short & accurately describe what the website is about and include 3 or 4 keywords.
META Tags: The two main META tags in your index page should be “Description” & “Keywords”. The keywords that I have described above should be in the “Keywords” section. The “Description” should be broader than the title, but you still don’t want to overdue it. Keep it between 1 & 2 sentences long and include a couple keywords, in this, as well.
Completeness: Search engines hate broken links. Make sure every link is connected properly.
Updates: Make sure to update your website fairly often. Search Engines don’t like outdated pages.
Submit To The Main 3: While there is some debate whether or not you need to submit to search engines, it’s best to submit them to the big 3 (Google, Yahoo & MSN), in order to get the ball rolling. Most search engines (including the big 3) have “spiders” that “crawl” the internet daily for web pages. It can take up to 12 weeks for sites to get fully indexed once you start submitting your site around.
The SEO Work
Once your site is complete and SEO ready, you now must do the actual SEO work. In a nutshell, you’ve got to get your link out there to as many sites as possible. Here are some tips to help you with that process:
Directories
First and foremost, try to stay away from sites who say they will submit to thousands of directories. Most directories have a way to prevent automated submissions and must be handled manually in each case. If you do decide to try one of these sites, make sure they are manually submitting to each directory. Go to Google and type in keywords like “free directory submission” or “directory list” to find directory sites. Make sure to find the proper category in each directory, because relevance plays a big role. Use the keywords, description & titles from your website when submitting.
Only sign up for free submissions and NEVER use reciprocal links. Directories will sometimes tell you that your link will be accepted faster if you do a reciprocal link, meaning you take their link and put it on your site. This is bad because 1) too many links to outside sites will bring you down on the search engines & 2) if the links are not relevant to your site, this can bring you down as well. Even if free submissions can take months, it’ll be worth it in the end.
Start a spreadsheet, and with each submission, make sure to put the URL of the website it was submitted to, date submitted, the category submitted to & the current status. Use this to go back to the sites to check on the status. Some sites will notify you when your link has been accepted, and some will not. If it has been longer than the time they said they would review it, go ahead and submit it again.
Link Exchanges
While this practice doesn’t have the same effect as it used to, it can be helpful. If you find sites relevant to your site, ask them if they would like to exchange links (putting their link on your page in exchange for having your link on their page.) Try to target websites with page ranks of 3 or above. You can easily find sites on the internet in order to find a website’s page rank. Some may want you to have a page rank above a certain point as well, so it may be best to come back to them as soon as your rank goes up.
Press Releases & Articles
There are tons of free sites that allow you to submit your press releases and articles. Doing PR & articles will scatter your link through MANY websites who use RSS feeds. Submit to as many free sites as you can.
Always Use a “Live” Link
The most important thing is that anywhere you go or any site you go to, to submit your site using a live link. www.”yourwebsite”.com won’t get picked up in search engines. Always use a live link with the “a href” tag that visitors can click on. These are the links search engines are looking for.
That about wraps it up. This will help build you up in the beginning. Over time, more & more visitors will visit the site, and even if they don’t know they are contributing, when they go on a message board, etc. and use your link, it’s helping your SEO! While I have given the steps to get you started, SEO is a process that should never stop. There is always going to be fierce competition, so you should never let up, even if you are receiving outside help from your visitors.

The Web is can be extremely unforgiving market place and with competition at a global level, the fight for a high search engine ranking gets all the more intense. Marketing for any online business eventually becomes a fight for a good placement on Google, Yahoo! or any of the top search engines. After all, most surfers begin browsing with a search engine, making search engine optimization essential for all e-businesses. The logic is simple – higher rankings translate to increased traffic with results in higher exposure and sales. SEO remains the number one priority of any online marketing strategy.SEO techniques are tried and tested methods employed by professionals who have garnered years of experience in web development, IT and Internet-related fields. There are no free lunches in the SEO world! Most “tips and tricks” posted online have been used and abused by web designers everywhere. In addition, some SEO firms offer services that are in blatant violation to search engine polices. These forbidden practices, dubbed black hat SEO, can often result in the death knell for their clients – a ban from a major search engine. Thus SEO remains tricky business, often misunderstood by websites, but still essential for competing over the web.The Internet remains the largest repository of information anywhere, and like every other topic, SEO has its set of hoaxes and myths.• Resubmitting URLs: This ancient practice endorsed by novice SEO consultantsmay have helped a few years ago. It is common knowledge that most search engine’s databases are not erased every few weeks. So, a once submitted website’s ranking will not change if resubmitted a few weeks later.• Meta Tags: Keywords remain essential, but the meta keywords tag has been ignored by major search engines for a while now. It is not uncommon to read SEO advice proclaiming meta-tags to be an essential SEO practice.• Impact of PPC ads: Another common misconception is that pay-per-click advertising on a particular search engine has an effect on organic SEO rankings. PPC ads have no bearing whatsoever on the placement of a website on the SERP.• Linking: This practice falls into a very grey area, considered by many to be black hat. Link farms have long been blacklisted by Google, but many a naïve developer falls for the old tip that says “linking with any kind of website is essential”.These are but a few of the many SEO myths that still persist across the Web. Only an experienced SEO company can properly handle your website’s SEO ranking. Choose an SEO firm that understands well the implications of its practices, and will neither jeopardize your company’s search engine placement nor risk its integrity with black hat tricks.
