Importance of Correct Copywriting for Search Engine Optimization
November 22, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Correct copywriting for Search Engine Optimization (commonly referred to as SEO) is a very difficult task even for us experts. Before we send out any content for SEO copywriting our SEO copywriters go over multiple drafts and have several people look at it. SEO copywriting requires a fine balance of including keywords, remembering your target audience and not trying to sound too corporate. A good SEO copywriter can do this, often under the tightest of time constraints.
Just like in this article, good SEO copywriting keeps the main points at the top of the article. The bottom half is where ideas can be expanded but it is very important to highlight the key points in the beginning.
Importance of Keywords in Search Engine Optimization:
Keywords can be found in two places on a web page either in the meta tag or in the body content. The importance of meta keywords is still up for debate but they are a crucial part of quality SEO copywriting. A good SEO copywriter will be able to include the keywords throughout the content with out the reader knowing. Keywords should have relevance to the page, if there is no connection to the content then you attracting visitors to your site who you do not want.
Importance of Remembering Your Target Audience in SEO Copywriting:
A good SEO copywriter will always keep in mind the target audience. Think about what information is on your webpage. If the page is informational, make sure that it is organized and easy to read. Headlines and headers are a great way to organize information on a webpage. If the page is trying to sell something, try to include call to action statements so that the customer will feel motivated to do something.
Staying Away from Corporate Style Language:
Short and sweet on the web is perfectly acceptable. Too many adjective or hyperboles can sound cheesy. A good SEO copywriter will stay away from jargon terms. If it necessary to include industry phrases make sure you properly introduce them, for example in this article, SEO was first mentioned as Search Engine Optimization so that unfamiliar readers would be able to follow along.

Amongst all the tricks and secrets you may have heard from various gurus, one of the main areas for better traffic when optimizing your site for Adsense is a clear and well defined foundation of search engine optimization.
The trend at the moment is working with social networking and social bookmarking sites, putting backlinks upon them and getting traffic. The backlinks help bolster your page rank and increase the search engines sense of ‘authority’ your web pages have. It is this return visit the search engine crawlers make when following the links that are important.
If your web page isn’t sensibly optimized for the keyword phrase, the backlink isn’t going to be worth much. However if the crawler meets your web page with a sense of well organized quality, your website’s backlink is worth considerably more.
Let’s assume for one moment that you’ve put an ‘anchor text’ for “property in Kensington” upon one of your blogs on a social network. This blog’s backlink points back to a page that has a page extension called “property in London” and both the meta tag title and headings tags refer to “apartments in London”. Apart from a human visitor being confused, the search engine crawler can’t find the words “property in Kensington” and therefore stops crawling and leaves your site. Google being the biggest search engine, may not even show that backlink because of irrelevance.
One backlink to a quality website has more value than 20 backlinks to a poorly optimized site. 18 months ago the story was different, webmasters were able to trick the search engines with a 1,000 backlinks obtained with various ‘black hat’ methods, and also get ranked higher than a quality site. Crazy growth in websites and backlinks throw up a question mark to the search engines, and more recently have been getting human visits from the search engines to determine what is going on.
If you build your Adsense website correctly from the outset, you will receive dividends in the long term.
Building your Adsense website is a long term strategy and creating a good SEO foundation is imperative. I hope that the one tip above has made you consider tweaking your website for better optimization.
Adsense can be a good money earner if you approach it right, as a business, and not as a temporary flirtation with online income. My own main tip is not to do too much too soon.

Simple SEO Technique Alot of People Don’t Use
November 16, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Some of the most basic SEO techniques to improve search engine rankings involve the use of keywords. Keywords in your title, headline and also within the contents of your webpage. Another great way to improve your websites rankings is to use active linking strategies. But we’re not going to be looking at any of those little tricks that most of us all know and use to great effect. What we are going to look at is a little trick that a lot of people don’t use. In fact it would be safe to say that even some who are willing to shell out money in order to climb the ranking ladder don’t use this simple and easy technique. The best part of it though is that it costs you nothing to do. You’re not going to be sold a pitch to purchase a product that does this for you, nor are you going to be asked to download an eBook. In fact once you’ve read this article and your one of the many people who had not thought of this great way to use a keyword you can go off and do this yourself and it will only take you a matter of minutes to do on a webpage. What’s the big secret, tell me tell me tell me!Use your keyword in a link What that’s it? All that build up just for that? Yes that’s it in a nut shell. There is no magic trick; there is no “guru’ based Jedi force involved. This simple little trick, when couple with other SEO techniques can have an impact on your search engine raking. Especially if you’re like me and feel you could use keywords more frequently on a webpage. The concept is very easy in itself. Use keywords in links to either link to a page on your website, another website or affiliate link. Let’s say you have a website which is built primarily on classic and vintage cars. Two keywords you would want to use in your Meta tag would be “vintage” and “classic”. So you would build links similar to this: Classic Cars (Would like to a page on your website) Vintage Automobiles (Link to another website) Buying Classic and Vintage Cars (Links to an affiliate website) Just remember though, you don’t want to over do it with keywords on a webpage as the major search engines may penalize you. Most web designers will embed between 10-12 keywords per webpage to ensure they don’t end up on Google’s bad books.

Search Engine Optimization Revealed â Keep it Simple and Content is King!
November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
You as a webmaster want search engines to rank your website at the top of the search results for certain key words. Just like millions of other webmasters.
So how do you convince the search engines that your website deserves a high ranking when those keywords are searched for? The simple truth is you must have really good content. Content that provides the information being searched for in a simple straight forward manner.
If you want the search engines to think your site is important, then you need to make it important for humans. You need to make it easy for humans to navigate and make it easy for humans to find the information they are looking for.
However, not only do you want great content, but content that people really search for. It can be great stuff, but if no one searches for it then it wonât do you any good. There are a number of ways for you to find out what it is that people are really looking for online. There are services such as wordtracker where you can look up the number of searches occurring for any keywords and keyword phrases, as well as how many websites are competing with you for those visitors, and even what your chances are of achieving a good ranking for those keywords. Very valuable information.
Once you have great content that people are really searching for, then itâs time for you to make certain that you have all the important details nailed down correctly. This includes your Title, your meta tags, your alt tags, and a linking strategy.
Lets think about the Title. Itâs imperative that you give careful thought to your title, and be sure to include it in the Title meta tag. The title of your site is one of the most important ways that the search engines use to figure out what your website is about. For instance, if your Title is âThe Truth About SEOâ, then itâs a pretty good bet that your website is not about baking chocolate chip cookies! Make sure your title tag tells the search engine what your webpage is about, and ad the same time you want it to be meaningful to the humans that will see it too. You need the humans to click through to your site as well as having the search engine offer it to them.
Since the search engines often use the meta description for displaying the search results, make sure it conveys to the human reading it what the site is about and make it compelling. It doesnât hurt to include some of the keywords either. Donât however overdo your keywords. If your text doesnât read well and sound natural, then donât use it.
If there are images on your site then it wouldnât hurt to have a keyword or two in the Alt text. But donât over do it! Search engines are not stupid and will recognize key word stuffing. Resist the temptation to over optimize. Moderation is the key.
Itâs ok to have a links page, but try to trade links with sites that ad value to your site. Stick to linking with sites that have something in common with the main topics of your site. The best links will come from webmasters who like your content so much that they link to you without requiring a link back from you.
Make sure you make it easy for the search engines to spider your site. If you must use fancy image links and dynamic menus etc, then make a sitemap so the engines can easily find your content.
Unfortunately, for good organic search engine traffic it will take timeâ¦especially with Google. It can take well over a year for your site to really start drawing traffic. So you should get going on it now. The sooner you start the sooner you will have that traffic. And when it happens you will be very glad that you did!

10 Quick Rules For Better Search Engine Ranking
November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
If you are setting up a website, follow these simple rules to improve search engine rankings of your site. You can also follow these techniques if your website is not ranked high in search engines for certain keywords. Concentrate on the home page of your site and once you learn the techniques, you will be able to apply them to the other pages of your site that will have multiple high ranking pages.
1. Find keywords (or key phrases) relevant to your website. Go to the overture keyword selector tool (type key phrase overture inventory in Google) and check the popularity of the keywords you want to use. Avoid highly popular keywords. Highly popular keywords are very competitive and the least popular keywords are search engine traffic starved.
Select a dozen keywords and key phrases from the middle of the list. This is a very important exercise and you should spend at least a couple of hours, if not more, researching different keywords. While you are researching your keywords, check your competitors by doing a search in a couple of popular search engines like Google, Yahoo, etc., using those keywords. Keep a record of your competitors’ urls and other information because you don’t want to waste your time doing the same search again in the near future.
2. Use the keywords you selected into the meta tags of your home page. Meta tags are located in the head section of a web page. Go to one of your competitor’s website and select View and then Source from your web browser’s menu to view the html source of the web page. You will see the meta elements.
The two important meta tags are keywords and description meta tags. Don’t leave them blank. You can list your keywords, separated by comma, in the keywords meta tag. Construct a catchy description using your keywords for the description meta tag.
3. Use the keywords in your title tag. The text you use in the title tag appears in the title bar of the web browser. The title tag should be less than 64 characters long. Again, the key is to use a meaningful title using the keywords. Don’t just make a laundry list of your keywords for the title tag.
The title tag and your meta description may end up in many search engine listings. So, spend sometime to make these two elements interesting, meaningful, and relevant to your site.
4. Use the keywords in top heading (h1) tags of your page. Use one keyword (or a key phrase) for each h1 tag. Use these h1 tags for the headings of your contents.
5. In the home page content, use bold, using the strong html element, to highlight some of your keywords.
6. Italicize some of the keywords in your page.
7. Use the keywords in alt tags of images. You should always use the alt tag for all images.
8. Encourage others to use the keywords for text anchors when they link back to your site. Better yet, publish your own short link text with keyword anchors, bold and italicized key phrases and give it away for link exchanges.
9. If possible, use the keywords in your domain name. Try different arrangements of the keywords to come up with an available domain name that you can register.
10. If you are using php or asp or any other web programming language for your dynamic website, make your url search engine friendly using url rewrite techniques. Search the phrase url rewrite in Google to know more about url rewrite.
Keep in mind these simple rules every time you want to launch a website. Spending a few days upfront in the preparation of your site will pay off in the long run with better search engine rankings.

SEO Tricks That Can Lower Your Siteâs Ranking
November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Search Engine Optimization is a series of manipulated steps that a site takes to cater to search algorithms that mostly, search engines engage to determine the ranking of a particular site. In fact, various technical tools used as strokes for managing the ranking of the site often play a pivotal role. They can actually act as a catalyst and push up your siteâs position in the SERPs. However, the abovementioned series are often knitted with certain SEO tricks which most of the sites entertain with the anticipation of enhancing their siteâs ranking, but in reality, they become the most prominent reasons for the lowering of the positioning in the SERPs. Here, in this article, we will highlight such SEO traps that come with ambiguous results.Link Building through ServiceLink building can create a lot problem if done through an external source, as in this case, owners usually might lose control. Some non-serious outsourced link building service can run the very serious risk of linking your site with a site that is counted to be in a “Bad Neighborhood,” Such sites can largely affect your siteâs ranking adversely. Hence, whenever you opt to build links, ensure to execute the process in a controlled environment, and with sites that are appropriate to your site’s content.Addition of numerous KeywordsOn adding a keyword to your site, either in the META tags or, in case of a blog, in the visible tags, ensure that the tags are relevant and in compliance with your content. Never engage random listing of words that you think may direct search engines to your site. Many site owners wish to keep short and non-repetitive words; however, technically, most of the leading search engines do not take into an account such words to decide rankings. In fact, if a siteâs META tag list appears to be produced with the help of dictionary. Your chances of lowering your ranking get prominent. Same is the case with the titles on a site. The technique of adding extra keywords for the search engines to index is commonly termed as “Title Stacking”.Doorway PagesThe technique of doorway pages has always been quite enticing to make a lot of sub pages that direct to the information that your user seeks. It is basically a procedure where, user avails the information, and you receive a lot of pages that let you raise your rankings on a multitude of sets of most sought- after key words. However, in reality, this technique is not much approved by most search engines because these gateway sites have very less content with them. Moreover, the main focus remains to re-direct. Hence, it is suggested to avoid it all costs.Borrowing ContentIn case, you opt to possess content from another source like an article bank or another similar site, get ready to be dashed into these severe troubles. Sites that are believed to be using copy and paste content encounter serious tensions with the engines right away. Even, if you copy side note from another siteâs content, you can wind up getting your own site removed wholesale. Under copywriting issues, you may also run the risk of getting sued.Hence, these are the certain sections where, we make use of some above specified tricks that ultimately results in an entire bundle of troubles and losses. It is best to avoid them and to engage in a more thoughtful, plan of internet marketing. In order to gain more information about the same, simply browse through brainpulse.com

What Do Search Engine Spiders Do – How Do They Work?
November 13, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
With so many different Search Engines online today you need to take time to understand how their spiders work so that you can truly optimize your domain in order to get the best out of your web presence. In this article you will learn how some of the more popular Search Engine spiders actually work.
One of the smaller, popular Search Engines is InfoSeek. This Search Engine only indexes the first 200 words on your web page. This is why it is very important to make sure that you have good meta tags on your site. These meta tags should list the most important information first because this is the information that will be used as a description for your site. You should realize that most meta tags can only contain about 200 characters of text. However, you can place 1,000 characters within your keywords meta tag.
You really should keep these simple rules about meta tags in mind for all of the Search Engines that you are working with. At the same time though, you should also realize that a lot of Search Engines do not even look at meta tags. This is why it is so important to have the same information in your web site’s body as is in your meta tags. Of course you cannot enter a list of keywords without this being detrimental to your site’s content.
The next Search Engine worth looking at is Alta Vista. Its spider is named Scooter and it may take three months before it fully indexes your site. This is different from the average spider which only takes between 6 and 8 weeks to index your entire site. However, normally Scooter will only spider between 2 and 10 pages of your web site each week. This is why it takes it longer but at the same time the longer you have your web site up the better it will do on Alta Vista.
While Excite was once a search powerhouse it is no longer the provider of AOL and Netscape search, and thus it is a lot less important than it once was. Excite uses a very complex algorithm to determine your site’s keyword relevance. The way it works is that once it indexes your pages it attempts to summarize them by selecting what it thinks are the most relevant sentences. In order to keep this up to date, Excite will then continue to review your page approximately every two weeks. Meta tags do not mean anything to Excite’s rankings but your description tags and relevant words will carry a lot of weight with this Search Engine.
Excite also owns WebCrawler but WebCrawled is operated independently of Excite. If you are able to get listed with WebCrawler, then you should do your best to keep your listing because this is the easiest Search Engine to get listed with. However, you should know that its submission process is tough, but not impossible. This is because it uses hit-and-miss standards combined with sporadic indexing methods.
Lycos has fully integrated DMOZ (the Open Directory Project aka ODP) into its mainstream results pages. They also use search results from AllTheWeb. It is important to do well on Lycos though because this is the site that runs click-throughs to HotBot, which is their sister site. All of this makes it very hard to understand Lycos. Generally though your site is going to eventually be indexed by Lycos if you are indexed by DMOZ and AllTheWeb.
Of course, the biggest Search Engine out there today is Google. This Search Engine uses a page ranking system that is often referred to as PR. It is their central basis for their index. At one time it was almost impossible to manipulate PR but webmasters soon discovered that the more links they had the higher their PR and the better their Google ranking. This Search Engine’s spider is regularly sent out whenever Google re-indexes its own database.
Another important Search Engine to get listed in is MSN. If you can get a good ranking in Google, MSN and Yahoo! your site will do well because these 3 Search Engines provide the majority of Search Engine traffic. Usually MSN will be the first Search Engines to index your site. It will also list the most pages the fastest.
While nobody can tell you precisely when a specific Search Engine will index you, it is a good idea to check weekly. One thing that you should never do is re-submit your site more often than every 2 months. Re-submitting your site more often may keep you from getting indexed at all.
Now that you have a basic understanding of how some of the numerous Search Engines online today actually work, you need to begin working to optimize your domain so that you can make the best of your web presence. Hopefully this article has started you on your way to learning how to use these Search Engines to your benefit.

How do I conquer Google?
November 10, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
The answer to this is very simple; it is all a matter of how much time you can dedicate to your website. If you read a little and you do you home work you will come to the conclusion that there is nothing that an SEO expert can do for your website that you can not do your self. The main idea here is to bring traffic to your website, how do we drive traffic to your website?
1. Meta Tags;
Don’t waste your time on them. Firstly let me explain what a Meta tag is; a Meta tag is a code that web designers insert on your website that gives the search engine information about your website. Meta tags are used to provide the search engines with key words, key phrases and a description of what your website is all about. Based on this information the search engines will categorize your pages and your website will be place in a listing based on the relevance of the search term used by any web surfer.
But there is a small problem; Meta tags are no longer of importance to Google. You might hear over and over again about the Meta tags but this is no longer going to make a difference in your web rankings. However, we did mention the words key words and key phrases and that will play a huge part in the next paragraph. I always mention Google as my only search engine, and the reality is that Google is king. So all you are about to learn will be aimed towards Google. Google wants you to have a website with good quality content. What does this mean? Good quality content? Well; in the early days web masters would saturate their web pages with key words and key phrases and all you would see is a chunk of meaningless and illogical content. They did this to convince Google spiders of a relevant key word and obtain a good position on the search engine. Now a day Google has come up with such a sophisticated system that the mechanism of this amazing search engine will detect when you are writing for your customers and your visitors or when you are just trying to full Google with an excess of keywords and key phrases. So the first rule when you have your website designed and you provide the content of your website to your web designer is to make sure that you make sense and your content is directed to your web visitors and not to the search engines. You do need to include keywords and key phrases in your content, but this is something that by nature will be there in your content.
2. Gaining popularity;
You can have as much content as you want in your website. You can even have 1000 pages in your website of pure logical content and meaningful sentences, but this is not enough to achieve a good position in Google and other search engines. Google needs to see that you are a point of interest to the people and the way Google measures your popularity is by evaluating how many other websites are linked to your website. What exactly are we talking about? Well, I am going to go and visit my competitor’s website and I will send him an email to see if he would be willing to add a link to my website in his website and in exchange I will do the same thing for him by adding a link on my website to his website. When you do this Google now sees that another website of similar and relevant content to your industry is telling their visitors; “hey listen; this other company is worth while visiting” This is how you grow popularity on the web. Based on your popularity and the quality of your links from other websites to your website and also the content you will be evaluated and given a good position.
There are many ways to bring traffic to your site. We will be talking about more techniques to help you bring traffic to your website in other articles.

Build Your Web Site Traffic With Traffic Assistants-get More Visitors
November 10, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment
Do you know how many types of traffic you are trying to generate? If you know basically where they can come from, you can lead them much more easily. There can be two types of organic web site traffic: direct and indirect traffic. Direct traffic means traffic generated from the key words themselves. Surfers type the key words they want to search about in some search engines and find you and become your traffic.First, to increase direct organic web site traffic or non-paid traffic in contrast to paid traffic you generate with PPC campaigns, the most important thing is that you have to increase your page rankings, which means for the key words of your niche you have to appear ideally in the first result page. The best positions that surfers are likely to click through are of course the top ten results. To appear at the top ten results, you’ll think of these things to do:Optimize your on page factors: Enrich your title tag, meta tag with the most related keywords. Increase the density and the designs of keywords in the content of your website. Then check the navigation of the internal and outgoing links. Other than those you also have to pay attention to freshening the content of your website as often as you can.Optimize your off page factors: This is to do with the ranking level of your website in search engine. You’ll want to build many quality links both one way and reciprocal. To have this you’ll need to place your URL on quality sites that are relevant, with high traffic and highly ranked. Besides you can do link exchanging with relevant sites as well.Second, to increase indirect web site traffic or referred traffic, you just have to set your back links along with some good communication with audience about your products or services. This communication can be under the forms of articles, or comments in blogs, or press releases, and the likes. The point is that you’ll need to build as much reliability on your audience as you can so that they can click on the back links to come to your website. You just need to offer some useful information and try to succinctly show your core competency as much as possible. As all other internet marketers you are well aware of the importance of web site traffic. I’ve just told you about the two basic but critical things you should bear in mind when generating web site traffic. Those are the two major processes you have to be involved with when separating your web site traffic into two main types: direct and indirect organic traffic. For more information contact Traffic Assistants.
