Releasing News About Your Internet Business

November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

As with any business, you need to get the word out for your Internet business. And getting the word out on the Internet, is a little bit different from conventional marketing. On the Internet, traffic is everything. Without traffic, it doesn’t matter how well you design your site, it simply won’t take off. And if this wasn’t challenging enough, you also need to generate targeted traffic. That is, visitors who are genuinely interested in what you have to say (or sell) on your website. You can easily tell if you get the right kind of traffic just by examining your stats. Usually, genuinely interested visitors will take action on your site. They will click on links, examine your pages, send you emails, subscribe to your newsletter, or even make a purchase. And you want them to be doing something. Otherwise, you are just wasting bandwidth, serving up the pages. There are many ways you can attract targeted traffic. One of the best ways to attract such traffic, is to release news about your internet business on a regular basis. See, one of the greatest mistakes that new internet marketers make is that they wait for things to be perfect before they start marketing their site. This is not the correct approach to adopt. You have to forget about perfection! As soon as your website is ready to take in orders, you have to start promoting your site. Don’t wait until your site or product is product. Start promoting immediately! As an example, let’s say you want to build a membership site with loads of features. You want to have forums, blogs, private member’s lounge, download area, and so on. Don’t wait until you have all these features ready before promoting your site. You can start with just one feature, and release a piece of news about that one feature. It could be the launch of a new blog, or the launch of a new forum, or whatever. You get the idea. As you continue to work on your site and improve on your business, there will be tons of opportunities to release news about various improvements. You launch a new blog, you release some news. You start a download area, you release some news, and then you keep going. If you adopt this approach, you get a lot more exposure for your internet business. In addition, you are also making money along the way, which is great. So never wait, always promote. A great way to release news about your internet business is to submit articles. These articles contain interesting news about your web business, and article directories are more than happy to accept them. With each article, you can include up to 2 (sometimes 3) links. This is great for direct traffic, and also for SEO purposes. Remember, what is want is targeted traffic. It is logical to assume that if someone reads the entire news article and clicks on a link to visit your site, he or she will be more likely to be interested in what you have to offer. When you have targeted visitors on your site, half the battle is won. And success is just round the corner. Now all you have to do is to find a way to convert the visitor into paying customers.

Top Five Internal Linking Tactics To Get Top Google Rankings

November 10, 2009 by IBI · 1 Comment

If you’re a website owner and are not following these five tactics for correctly linking your website together then you’re losing Google traffic as you read this. Internal linking is the links on your website that point to other pages within your same website. External linking is when you link to another website.
There are things you can do when developing or re-working your internal linking structure. If you carry out the following tactics, you’re going to achieve two things. First, you’ll make your website better from a user’s perspective. Second, you’ll rank better in Google. And it’s no coincidence that Google rewards you for doing things that make the website user’s experience easier and better. In fact, the most important thing I can recommend is that you create, design and link your website together is a way that benefits the visitor first. Your visitors are most important, not Google rankings.
And remember, links to your site (whether from other sites or from pages within your own site) help your rankings.
1) Add links in your navigation or footer as text links to all your important pages and main sections.
This is a very easy and an extremely effective tactic that not all sites do, and even less do for maximum results. This is the first thing I look for when reviewing a website for a client. Unfortunately, sometimes artsy Web designers add cool buttons, which are images, to all the main sections of the site, but neglect to include text links as well. Or a programmer decides to make the website’s navigation a dynamic drop down menu in DHTML or JavaScript but forget to include text links to the same pages represented in the menus. Search engines cannot follow image links or links created in JavaScript, they can only follow simple text links, so be sure you add them to your site as well.
So if you want search engines to visit and index (or record) ALL your website’s pages, be sure there are text links pointing to all the main sections of your site and to all your important pages.
2) Use of the rel=”nofollow” HTML tag.
This is fairly simple. Google created this tag which tells them NOT to count the link in their search engine ranking algorithm when used on a link. There’s debate that maybe Google does count them a little, or will some day in the future. But for now, this tag does greatly decrease a link’s value in Google’s eyes. Therefore, consider using this tag on some of your links within your site. For example, let’s say you have a homepage and then create two inner pages, and that’s the extent of the site. Let’s further say that you add a link to both pages on your homepage.
If your homepage has some external links pointing to it, then it has some value in regards to Google’s ranking system. When you link to each of your two new pages within your site from your homepage, each page gets only 50% of the value the homepage has. (This is all measured in Page Rank). Let’s then say that your first inner page is the one you want to rank well in the Google, but you don’t care if your second inner page even gets found by Google or ranked. You could add the nofollow tag to the second link on your homepage, thereby giving the first inner page 100% of the homepage’s value.
Think of the implications. Imagine if you had a website with hundreds or thousands of pages and used the nofollow tag throughout. To understand how to implement this tag is, do a search in Google such as “how to add a nofollow tag to link”.
Finally, if you have pages such as a privacy page, terms page, checkout pages or contact pages that you don’t care if they rank well in Google, be sure to use the nofollow tag when creating internal links to these pages.
3) Use descriptive & different phrases to point to the same inner page
The words that are in the text of a link (also known as the anchor text) affect your search engine rankings. For example, the anchor text in the two links above is “Your Website”. If enough of these links that were on quality and valuable sites, including your own website’s inner pages, pointed to the same page, it would eventually rank well in Google when someone searches for the phrase “your website”.
Therefore, be sure to make the anchor text in all your internal links the phrases you want the pages to be found for in Google.
Going back to the number 1 tactic above, you would be far better off making the anchor text in all your footer links as descriptive as possible. If you want to rank well in Google for “affordable Red widgets” then make the anchor text “affordable Red widgets”.
Finally, vary your anchor text when pointing to the same page within your website. For instance, on some of your pages you could link to your Red Widgets page with the anchor text of “Red widgets”, then on other pages link to it using “affordable Red widgets” and then maybe use “widgets that are Red”. This allows you to get the page ranked for multiple terms and helps the user since you’re being descriptive and making your anchor text better match the content of the page it’s on.
4) Make links in your content
If you have text on your site, make some of the words within the text links that point to other pages within your website. For instance, if you have an article about Red widgets, or a page that describes how great your Red widgets are, make the first or second occurrence of the phrase “Red widgets” in the text a link that points to your Red Widgets page.
5) Create breadcrumbs at the top of every page
This looks something like this: Home – Products – Red Widgets
Each of words between the hyphens (which are also often greater-than signs) above should be links to their corresponding pages within the site. This helps your website visitors know where they are in relation to the rest of the site. It helps orientate site visitors. Anything you can do that helps your visitors’ experience is something you ought to consider doing. This also helps search engines spider your website more easily as well. Finally, making breadcrumbs creates more internal links to your pages, thus helping your rankings as well.
By following these top five internal linking tactics, you’ll be far ahead of the competition, you’ll rank better in Google and other search engines and you’ll be making your website visitors’ lives easier.

Link is king on Twitter

November 6, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Social media has become so popular these days that it is just not funny. It all started off as a means for people to stay in touch with each other and now it has gone over to a corporate level. Many big companies have taken this opportunity to further increase their customer base by getting to know their customers at a more personal level and therefore increasing their sales and profits.

One particular social media of interest nowadays is called Twitter.

What Is Twitter?

In case you haven’t heard of it yet, Twitter is a social media tool that allows people to know what their fellow twitterers (people using twitter) are doing at this very moment.

Did you just have your breakfast? Put that on Twitter! Are you buying a new house or writing a report on your final year project? Put that on Twitter! Are you throwing a bachelor party? You can put that on Twitter as well. There are no limitations as to what you can put on Twitter.

So by now, I hope you’ve got the point that Twitter is simply, us reaching to other people in real time to answer the simplest question, “What are you doing right now?”

How can we use twitter to make money online?

One thing you should know is that each Tweet (your message on twitter) must consist of 140 letters or less. So you have to make sure that every post that you make is straight to the point.

Instead of just tweeting about what you’re doing, you can also use twitter to post a tweet with a link to an interesting website and share it with others.

However, links are usually long, so it may take up some of your Twitter letter allowance. But don’t worry, there are a few websites out there that provides free URL shortening service like bit.ly and tinyurl.

Use them to your advantage to include affiliate links and also to promote your website or blog on twitter.

Link is king on Twitter. Over time, as your Twitter followers grow, your links will be exposed to tens of thousands of readers a day and those links will remain on the pages for years to come (Unless the Twitter website shuts down, which is highly unlikely).

Twitter Search

On Twitter, there is a search page that lets you search what people are tweeting about in real time. What this means is that you could use Twitter to find people that are actually interested with what you have to offer on your website.

For example, if your website is about mp3 player accessories, type the word “mp3 player” to find people who are using their mp3 players and start following them. By following them, there is a good chance that they may follow you back and eventually go to your website. These people are highly targeted leads for your business as they already own an mp3 player, so therefore might hold an interest in finding some mp3 player accessories that you offer on your website.

A word of warning. One thing you should always remember is not to post spam on Twitter. People do not like spam and so do you. So whenever you make a post, do not to make it sound “spammy”.

The tweets that you post should sound personal. Look at it as a way for you to offer people information rather than spamming them with links all the time.

In summary, Twitter is a new technology that is still in its early stages. But it clearly has a huge potential of boosting your business online in the future.

Use it right and you will to start making money online, abuse it and you will lose people’s trust and gain nothing in the end.

Big Tips to Get People Retweeting

Big Tips to Get People Retweeting

Today, I’d like to introduce you to our guest author, Harris Fellman. Harris recently launched CoupDeTwitter – a course on how to properly get started with twitter, get lots of followers, and turn those followers into cash.

He is by no means a Social Media Purist, but still he teaches what he considers the “right way” to interact on Twitter & other Social Media platforms (hint: it ain’t by spamming people your offers). Harris has a number of years of success in the internet marketing realm and I feel very honored to have him as a guest author today.

With that … here’s Harris’ blog post entitled “Big Tips to Get People Retweeting”:

I’m about to show you how to really SUPERCHARGE your Twitter efforts by getting people to click on things that you send out, and more importantly how to get your followers to actually ReTweet your messages. When they do this, it gets your Twitter ID in front of their followers; their followers will very often come check YOU out & consider following you as well.

(And for all you Search Engine Optimization experts out there, your head should be spinning at how awesome it is to get people sending out LINKS to your Twitter pages. But I’ll leave that conversation to the experts of that field.)

In my last post I talked about building a relationship with your followers and gave you an easy to follow daily process of things that you can to do to help you start connecting to people in the right way. I also mentioned jumping into conversations where you feel you might have relevant or interesting things to contribute.

That’s all well and good, and it works, but there are some things that you can put into place that will literally put your Tweeting and newfound relationships with your followers into hyperdrive.

One of the keys to the success of this approach is not just getting people to talk TO you, you want them to talk about you as well, and that’s where Retweeting comes in. The funnier, more interesting, & more emotional your tweets are; the better chance that they’ll be ReTweeted. But don’t think that just because you’re witty and handy with a good line or two that it will entice people to retweet what you’re writing.

There are some proven tactics that will get people spreading your Tweets all over the Twitterverse and I’m about to share a couple of them with you right now. Not only that, once you engage your followers and start giving back, they’ll click your links AND retweet them as well! (I love it when I see people ReTweeting links of mine that actually have *affiliate URLs* in them – but that’s a topic for my Coup de Twitter System .)

Okay, so how do I get people to start retweeting me?

Once again, this is not nearly as hard as you might think. One of the most popular and MOST retweeted segments that you can put out there are: Famous Quotes. It’s true. People simply love to retweet good quotations. It might seem silly but there’s actually a ton of value in doing this. It’s a great use of Twitter to instantly get a motivational thought coming through the timeline and it turns out that people just love to ReTweet them back out.

There are a bunch of places you can go to find great quotes.

My wife bought be a book called “The Most Brilliant Thoughts of All Time” which has 100’s of quotes in them. Every once in a while, I pop open the book & look for a quotation or two that I like. But even easier for you would be to find a website that has quotes that you can cut and paste right in. Instead of me telling you my favorite quotations websites; just go ahead and type “motivational quotes”, “success quotes”, “sports quotations”, or whatever tickles your fancy into your favorite Google .. er, I mean, your favorite search engine and you’ll find more than what you’re looking for.

Once you get into the groove with this, I recommend even using a service like SocialOOMPH to automatically send quotes out from your Twitter account for days and months to come. I love me some Social OOMPH & this is a great use for that service.

Once you find a quotations site that you like, you’ll find literally hundreds if not thousands of quotes. Some of them are obviously too many characters to fit in a single Tweet, but there are many to choose from that fit right in. Oh, and one rule of thumb especially with things that you’re wanting to get retweeted… even though you have 140 characters to work with, keep your quotation tweets down to around 120 which gives people room to retweet them and not have to modify them at all since they’ll be putting “RT @yournamehere” in front of each Tweet when they re-send it out (which is, of course, the entire point of this little exercise).

A little something else regarding quotations that I love to do is to pick a person that is currently in the news. Recently we had a rash of celebrities passing away – I went out and Googled quotations from those very people & helped to honor them with good positive quotes from them. Great stuff. People seemed to really appreciate (and retweet) those quotes.

That’s enough about quotations, I’ve got one more big tip for you…

Alright, now another thing you’re going to want to tweet of real value is pertinent, up to date and breaking information about your particular interest or niche. How do you keep right on the cutting edge of things related to your business or niche? If you didn’t already know about this, you’re gonna freakin’ love me for telling you about it.

Google has a service called alerts.google.com

When you sign up at Google Alerts, you can have the god of the internet, Google, send you all kinds of information right into your e-mail that keep you completely up to date on just about any topic you can imagine. You should put in pretty narrow keyword terms so you don’t get too much crap to sift through. But even if you do, you can always adjust it later. Just get out there and get started.

You’ll have blog posts, news items, and web pages sent directly to your inbox. Scan through it looking for what you feel is the best articles and then viola — use that content in your tweets! Sending out this sort of information will train your followers that you’re a giver of good information; and, more importantly, it will train them to click on stuff that you send out. Many will even ReTweet these posts, thus telling their followers that YOU are a good source of up-to-the-minute information as well.

Putting your Twitter marketing efforts on hyperdrive, my friend, that’s what CoupDeTwitter is all about.

Try these tips for yourself! You’ll be shocked at how well this really works. And when you do, please let me know through my Twitter account twitter.com/harrisfellman @harrisfellman. I’ve got tons more to share with you when you decide to become a member of the growing “Twinja Army” – people just like you who are “taking over” Twitter with my incredible Coup De Twitter system. I hope to see you in my private forums soon!

How to Get All the Website Traffic You Want With No Effort at all

October 29, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

In order to have a successful site you need of course a lot of website traffic. But in many cases, even if you work really hard and you create a professional web page you still do not get too many visitors and in conclusion the profit that you deserve.

First, let us review the most poplar methods of directing traffic to a certain website.

-link exchanging – cheap method but many say that overall it drives people away from your site instead of to it. This is because adding a large number of links to your pages makes them look unprofessional and may drive visitors away. Adding only a small number of links does not have any noticeable effect. Also making link exchanges is not always so easy because you have to convince webmasters to trade links with you. I can tell you from my experience that if you have a new site this thing could get really difficult because almost no one will want to exchange links with you.

-free ezine ads – another cheap method but it rarely does anything because there are thousands of ads out there that try to attract attention and yours will just blend in with the others.

-search engine submissions – this may be the most effective method but it requires a lot of work and time. To rank successfully in the major search engines takes a lot of time development and quite often money. It only works well if you get a high position in the search engines, which is very difficult to do, and you can loose that position in a few weeks.

-Buying one way links to increase your link popularity and your search engine rankings could be a method but having top positions in the major search engines is not so easy. Every one knows that search engine website traffic is the best but to get it you must have thousands of good quality links which can get really expensive. A PR5 one way link can cost 30USD+ a month.

The solution is easier than you may think.. you can buy traffic! For a small amount of money you can purchase all the website traffic that you need and boost you business profits. Without people visiting your pages you can not promote and sell your products, so if you want to increase your profits you have to get as much website traffic as you can. Therefore, the simplest, easiest solution is to buy traffic. It is not cheap, proven and with targeted traffic has a good conversion rate.

Now, a new innovative method has been developed – the redirected visitors technology. This tehnique brings, just as its name suggests, redirected visitors to your site. It works perfectly and it is guaranteed to bring a lot of website traffic to you!

People who are working with this technology purchase all the abandoned / expired domain names that had a website with good traffic on them. Those abandoned websites are listed in the search engines and they are marketed, therefore they used to be visited by a lot of people. When you enter this kind of program, your website will be scanned, and those abandoned websites will be redirected to yours. When someone searches for something in a search engine and clicks on the link that used to point to the abandoned pages, it will lead them to you instead! Unlike popups this method is not annoying for users, because what they find has the same subject as what they searched for, so they will most likely not even notice the redirection.

This way you will get all the targeted website traffic you need. Instead of working really hard you can simply buy that traffic sit back and watch the sales pour in. Furthermore, this tehnique is not a spamming tehnique and it brings real traffic to you, from 2,500+ visitors!

If you are interested in learning more about the website traffic redirecting technology or if you would like to know how to buy traffic just follow these links.
