Virtual Assistants are Revolutionizing the Way Business Services are Delivered, Everywhere

November 8, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

The Virtual Assistance Industry Has Experienced Tremendous Growth in 2008;
VAs are Revolutionizing the Way Business Services are Delivered, Everywhere.

The Media’s Virtual Assistant Survey found at http://www.vanetworking.com/survey conducted by VAnetworking.com gives us a deeper insight into the virtual assistance industry, which has experienced tremendous growth in 2008. The mysteriousness behind the term virtual assistant has been replaced with intrigue and fascination. To professionals such as speakers, author’s, business coaches and online business owners – having a virtual assistant has become main-stream. Small scale businesses are able to achieve large scale growth and higher sales volumes simply by outsourcing to a virtual assistant.  Business Services etc., http://bsetc.ca, a virtual assistant company in Canada was able to increase a clients’ subscribers list by 4,000 and generate $40,000 in sales over the same 4 month time period.

With the shift in the global economy and the pressing environmental issues facing the world, the general consensus is on conserving both money and energy. Not only does the virtual assistance industry contribute to the conservation of both of these global factors but it also allows professionals to leverage people and strengthen systems and resources.

In a localized business environment there may be one person who is responsible for the daily operation of the administration and marketing. What happens when that person is not seeking or given the opportunities to network with peers and enhance their skill sets? It is vital for businesses to be able to assess their options and participate in marketing activities such as social media marketing.

It is customary for a virtual assistant to explore multiple social media and traditional marketing strategies and implement these into their business successfully and those of their clientele. This practice is both extremely cost effective and yields noteworthy results.

The general mindset of a virtual assistant is typically technical in nature.  Because they work virtually their whole foundation is built around technology. Every major breakthrough online contributes more and more to their success. The affects of social media tools such as blogs, facebook, and twitter have been profound.

The 3 key areas that have experienced significant growth within the virtual assistance industry in 2008 are:

1. Collaboration/Leadership/Professional Development

Take for example the milestones achieved by the leadership of Tawnya Sutherland at VAnetworking.com, with over 10,000 members worldwide this association reached its fifth year anniversary and won 1st place in the Startup Nation’s Baby Boomers Back in Business award.  Providing training, mentoring, and networking opportunities for both new and aspiring virtual assistants.

And as stated by Erin Blaskie of BSetc.ca, “2008 saw the emergence of more multi-VA Teams”. Virtual Assistants that offer clients a “one stop shop” are building solid teams and implementing comprehensive project management strategies that enable them to effectively service multiple clients. Michelle Jamison, founder of MJVA.ca a multi-VA company in Canada has been in business since 1998 and authored a book titled, “The Virtual Assistant’s Guide to the Multi-VA Business” which shares everything Michelle learned and everything one needs to know in order to create a successful and fulfilling multi-VA business.

Seasoned virtual assistants and others who specialize in Internet Marketing are developing niche specific training and coaching packages designed towards educating newcomers to the profession and coaching them to success.  Like Mary-Lou Ashton of Virtual Strategies, vatp.ca, who has been a pioneer in the Virtual Assistant profession in Canada since 1997. She provides coaching services to virtual assistants through her coaching business Vision to Action. Also, the VA Coach, TheVACoach.com, Erin Blaskie offers a variety of solutions for new and seasoned virtual assistants in both group and self study training formats.  And for those looking for industry specific training in Internet Marketing and Social Media the VAclassroom.com, founded by Craig Cannings offers an affordable and comprehensive certification program.

More and more industry specific Forums and Conferences are presenting hands on development opportunities for virtual assistants. Barbara Lang, of Virtually Anything-Administrative Services, virtuallyAnything.ca, started the Forum On Virtual Assistance (FoVA) in 2008, which presents virtual assistants with the opportunity to exchange ideas and information and gain valuable insight in facilitated discussion groups and workshop formats. This event was so well received that FoVA 2009 is a highly anticipated event within the industry.

2. Tools/Technology

Social Media Marketing and web based collaboration tools and software have totally transformed business.  Having the ability to connect real time with such tools as twitter means that we are able to reach out to millions of people. Managing multiple projects with virtual work teams using web based project management systems such as Basecamp, Skype, and a variety of Google tools is a snap. Not to mention how productive and easy it has become to track time across multiple projects and give clients the ability to log in from virtually anywhere to view and pay their invoices seamlessly with tools such as Freshbooks.com. Armed with the knowledge, passion, and desire for success entrepreneurs such as Kathie M. Thomas, an Author, Blogger, Speaker and Virtual Assistant Coach & Trainer, who founded A Clayton’s Secretary, vadirectory.net, in 1994, are able to achieve successes such as gaining a spot on the Top 100 Australian Blogs list. Also, Danielle Guérin owner of VADG, vadg.ca, a fully bilingual (English/French) multi-VA company in Canada, won the Young Self-Employed Worker of Quebec award in the 2008 ARISTA Provincial Competition. This award celebrates Danielle’s talent and accomplishments. The winners were selected based on rigorous criteria and succeeded in impressing the jury with their professional achievements, creative spirit and involvement.

3. Clientele

A variety of people are now outsourcing multiple projects ranging from personal assistance to the management and operations of their entire business. It need not matter if you run a service based company, an actual brink and mortar store, are an entrepreneur, franchisor, or large corporation people are now keenly aware of the benefits that a virtual assistant will bring to their business. Seeking ways to overcome challenges, be innovative, save money, and participate in online collaboration and marketing are the common factors that the majority of clientele share.  Like Terry Green owner of Fastype VA Services, Inc., myfastype.com, a full-service multi-VA company with a team of qualified associates specializing in providing quality administrative and executive support to Professional Speakers and Coaches worldwide. Their clients span the globe from across the United States and Canada, to as far away as New Zealand, Antigua and Singapore.

The forecast on the virtual assistant industry for 2009 and beyond is remarkable. With the ongoing commitment, drive, and passion to provide extraordinary customer relations while presenting the best possible options to service their clients, virtual assistants are revolutionizing the way business services are delivered, everywhere.

Quotes:

“The online world is evolving. Being simply a virtual assistant that offers administrative services is no longer enough. With the emergence of social networking and social media marketing, it’s vital to any online business to stay on top of these changes. For the growth of my business, I took the certification course to become a Social Media Specialist. I will achieve the certification in January. It’s not only internet marketers that need this service anymore. Every business, from Realtors to Entrepreneurs to Ebayers will be using Social Marketing to attract business. I heard an interesting quote recently. The Internet is a buyer’s market where sellers aren’t welcome. Sellers need to adapt.” ~ Crystal Pina, VisionsVirtualAssistance.com

“Working virtually is not the future anymore, but an everyday reality that has now taken its rightful place!  As a Virtual Assistant and owner of Virtual Managing Associates, working virtually throughout 2008 brought in many developments on a multitude of levels, may they be professional or personal.  To some it all up in a few words I would only say: Working on a virtual basis is not only a frame of mind, but also a possibility to offer to your existing customers and associates your undivided attention, and a proactive outlook on the work at hand.” ~ Christiane Jechoux, VirtualManagingAssociates.com.

Frances Palaschuk is an Internet Marketing Virtual Assistant and founder of Ultimate Biz Assistant based in Ottawa, Canada. Frances has an Internet Marketing certification through VAclassroom.com. She specializes in social media marketing through the setup and optimization of WordPress blogs, twitter, facebook and linked. Also, competitive analysis, keyword research and assisting with marketing plan development and deployment.

SEO Tips- Why Should I Use Blogrush

November 4, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

BlogRush is a free service that was created to help bloggers solve their #1 need: getting More Readers for Their Blog.
By adding the BlogRush Widget to a blog, a blogger can get instant distribution for their latest blog post titles across a network of related blogs.  BlogRush users earn “syndication credits” (the right to have their blog post titles shown inside a widget on another related blog) based on their own traffic (loads of the widget) as well as the traffic of other users they pass on to BlogRush. Users can automatically refer others to BlogRush through special links on the widget, as well as through the promotion of a special referral URL they are given.
BlogRush is a “Cooperative Syndication Network” that rewards its users for their contributions to the network — from the impressions they provide of the BlogRush Widget to the referral of other users through 10 ‘generations’ of activity and the impressions of the widget that they provide. BlogRush was designed to be exceptionally viral and to provide its users with fantastic distribution leverage to receive exposure for their blog content (onto related content blogs) that they could never achieve on their own; at least without a huge advertising budget.
BlogRush is the new blog promotion thing that is spreading like fire. Why? Well, in short – BlogRush puts links to your articles on other blogs that have same or similar content. So if you have a blog that it lets say dealing with music, titles of your articles will appear in a BlogRush widget on other music blogs. Sure you have to install your own widget on your own blog and return the favor, but just imagine – you will get targeted readers interested in music seeing your articles and hopefully coming to your site.
Helping spread the word about BlogRush is also their referral program. You get more impressions if you bring some new bloggers to the network. We’ll post the results on how many visitors did we get from BlogRush in a while. Until then you can try it yourself and “have your posts automatically promoted on related blogs across the internet” as guys at BlogRush like to say.
If you really are software savvy, you can go to A software designer has  recently developed a free wordpress plug-in called “BlogRush Click Maximizer”. By using it you can vastly improve your Click through Rate. This also allows you to control what you want to display in BlogRush. You can even write alternate – short and catchy title just for BlogRush. You will have total control of what appears over the BlogRush Network.

There is Only One Way to Get Website Traffic!

November 3, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Let me tell you guys—there is really only ONE way to drive traffic – you buy it!

Now, I know you’re saying “Hold on Adam, I don’t have a lot of money to go out buying traffic—I’m just getting started.”

Let me tell you what I mean— there are lots of different ways to “buy” traffic.

With the “free traffic” methods I explained earlier (social bookmarking, social networking, blogging, forums, etc…) you are “spending” your time going out and creating all those back links to your website, but again you are “spending” your time to create that traffic.

Now, does it cost you anything? Do you have to hire anyone to do it for you?

You could, but not necessarily. You are doing it yourself. But your Time = Money, and you are essentially buying traffic with your time. See what I mean?

Also, look into joint venture (JV) partners or affiliates—what if they are promoting your product for you?

JV Partners and affiliates are some of the best source of traffic, sales, and leverage! I highly recommend that you get here as fast as you can in your online business.

Well, by this time you are doing a little better because you are leveraging the JV partners or affiliates efforts and their e-mail lists.

But when that JV partner or affiliate drives traffic to your website and you make a sale, you “pay” that JV partner or affiliate a commission on that sale.

The nice thing is that you don’t have to pay them if they don’t make a sale, but again, you are essentially paying them for traffic. And rightly so—JV partners are an incredible source of leverage and income in your online business!

Now there is an important thing to make note of here – if you have people whether they be JV’s or affiliates, with lists of people, and they are selling your product, you are giving them a commission.

You are getting more than a sale in return – you are getting a customer. This person is now in one of your lists. Not just an audience or newsletter list – a “buying customer” list. That is worth its weight in gold.

As you develop a relationship with them, you have someone that you may sell additional products to, or even get into what is called a continuity loop. This is when you have them subscribing to a service and paying you on a recurring basis.

Now, when you are just getting started out—especially if you don’t have your own product yet and you are just promoting affiliate products—you don’t necessarily have JV partners or affiliates under you.

You are using your own time to create traffic and generate income, and so a great way to leverage your efforts and your time is to generate traffic using PPC.

Know The Secrets To Generating Traffic

November 3, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

You get many ways to go about generating traffic on your website. Firstly, stress on your keyword. You must identify your key topics, and use your keywords wisely. Make sure, while generating traffic that your target audience gets what it’s looking for. Aim to make your website more than just a website – your focus should be on making it an online resource for your field or niche! Make use of blogs, get others to link you. Be proactive, use newsletters, press releases, and PR agencies. All of these may lead to new links. You could even contact top bloggers in your industry. This would give you added leverage.

Take advantage of social media and social networking sites. Newspapers, television, radio stations – all of these are popular, and have the power of influencing your target audience. Another secret to generating traffic is to use media directories like Gebbie Press and Burelles Luce, which can help you identify your outlets. And it’s essential to be part of Facebook, Digg, Netscape, YouTube, MySpace, etc., believe us, you will get great branding out of it!

Here are some valuable tips you need to know for generating traffic, when it comes to link building. Produce high quality content, get good quality related/trusted places to link to you, link to other related and trusted websites, and finally, get your links within the content of the webpage (that means, ideally, in the middle area of a page, and not the header or footer).

When it comes to generating traffic, make sure you are exchanging guest-posts, and not just writing them. It shouldn’t be one-way. How does this work? You write a guest post for a blogger, and to return the favor – he or she writes one for you. The advantage? This is a wonderful arrangement that allows your blog to always be freshly updated, and visitors will always be greeted with something new.

Also, for generating traffic, use the most boring and mundane of daily tasks to promote your website. For example, if you’re an active participant of forums, add your blog’s URL to your forum signature. Put the URL at the bottom of each email, so that each message you send will be a form of promotion for your website. You can also set Twitter to publish links to new posts from your blog, and not only that – you really must add your blog link to your social networking profiles.

Make use of in-post working. You can finish a post with a question to other bloggers – like what they think about a certain thing. If your post was thought-provoking enough, you might get a few replies, because opinion-based topics always get more uptakes. Engaging with other bloggers has the advantage of enriching your niche.

And here’s a secret tip to generating traffic – release an EBooks! Make a list of your top ten best posts, and put it together in 15 minutes. The EBooks can be out there publicizing your website in no time! You should also put in a blog translator plug-in on your webpage – as this is beneficial for those not fluent in English. This, apart from generating traffic, also makes your website accessible to just about anyone.

7 Steps To Leverage Social Media For Increasing Web Site Traffic

November 3, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Social media sites like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace etc. have become popular among the internet marketers. Most marketers hawk their websites, blog, affiliate links, list building URLs, etc. all day long to drive traffic to their web sites. Not only it is annoying to the network members, but also the effectiveness of such a strategy is yet to be proven.

However, you cannot ignore this emerging medium. You need to embrace it using a different mindset. If you follow the seven guidelines discussed below, you will be able to increase traffic to your site from these social media sites without exposing yourself as a self-centered marketer who will do anything to cash in on every opportunity.

1. Create a profile page at each site and detail your interests, expertise, blogs, and websites in your profile. In Twitter, you are limited by text space and the number of URLs you can use in your bio. Facebook has more flexibility and you can pull your blog RSS into the Facebook notes.

Social network sites are pull medium where the old push marketing fails miserably. Your goal should be to pull people to your profile page by regularly posting valuable and interesting contents from other sites. You can post your blog article in Twitter occasionally but don’t submit every blog post your create.

2. The old school marketing relies on four Ps – price, product, placement, and promotion. The social media adds another dimension and one more P to the marketing philosophy and it is the participation.

You need to participate in the conversion and at the same time encourage others to participate. If you want to build a community that will trust you, you need to participate by providing expert opinions and valuable information. You need to help others when somebody has a question. Even if don’t know the answer, find it out by spending sometime on the Web.

You also need to draw others in the discussions by asking questions, giving controversial opinions, raising interesting issues that affect your niche. Passively posting your URL all over the place will not bring traffic to your site. Only concerted efforts to position yourself as a knowledgeable person in your niche will result in more visitors to your site.

3. To position yourself as an expert in your niche, you need to create contents that are fresh, interesting, and valuable to your readers. You also have to discover high quality contents in your niche for sharing with others. Subscribe to a few dozen blogs and scan them everyday for high quality contents so that you can share it with others in your network.

4. You cannot hide yourself in the social media world. If you are a fake, people will discover it fast and you will lose trust and traffic. So, be authentic, transparent and humble in all your conversations. If you make a mistake, admit it and move on.

5. To establish your credibility and expertise, you should read a wide variety of topics in your niche and explain them to others in the form of blog post, ebooks, white papers, etc. Give it all for free without any strings attached. Encourage others to distribute your materials.

If you are not sharing some valuable information, somebody else will share it. You cannot hide any information. It is better to be the first mover than wondering how did everybody find it out.

6. Be prepared to change your mind set. The old school mindset for driving traffic is posting you site links everywhere. The social media mind set is establishing yourself as an expert and sharing your knowledge. Once people know that you are a good resource for solutions to their problems, they will come to your site and you can monetize your site in different ways.

If you are wondering how you are going to make money if you give every thing for free than you need to understand this new medium before you jump into the bandwagon by posting your URLs every hour. Your goal is to drive traffic to your site. Your site may monetize using a variety of methods like, third party advertisement, selling tutorials, affiliate marketing, selling memberships, etc.

7. Social media is a marketing tool set that you leverage to drive traffic to your web site. For leveraging this new medium, you need to establish yourself as a good community member first. Don’t be farcical like Walmart who paid to Jim and Laura to blog around the country in Walmart parking lots capturing stories of Walmart employees and how they loved to work at Walmart.

You may enjoy a short-lived traffic boost to your site, but it will not last longer. When the truth is exposed, it will be a public relation nightmare for you or your brand. Build your brand by telling the truth. There is nothing wrong if you are sponsored by a corporation, just reveal the truth.

Need More Website Traffic?

October 29, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Are you struggling to get more website traffic?  Well there are hundreds, if not thousands, of Internet businesses like yours with the same problems and frustrations.

The web site owners making the real big money use the power of leverage to bring in huge amounts of traffic on demand.  They leverage the work of other people and pay them a commission for any traffic they send to their website that turns into a sale.  This is called an affiliate program.

Today it’s not just about setting up an affiliate program, sitting back and just hoping that your affiliates will drive traffic to your website.  Anybody can set up an online affiliate program and get a few affiliates signed up.  That’s the easy part.   Sure, it’s a great way to generate more website traffic, but what you really need to do is to train your affiliates on how to bring loads of traffic to your site constantly which will in turn generate more sales and profit for them and, more importantly, for YOU!  Having an affiliate program where hundreds of people sign up is a whole different ball game and could shoot your profits through the roof.

Why have an affiliate program?  Three reasons: Traffic, Traffic, Traffic.

Every darn website out there in cyberspace wants more website traffic because more traffic means more money.  It’s a no brainer.  You may have the best, biggest and greatest website on the net but if nobody knows it’s there you’re wasting your time.  You need visitors (your customers) to make it work.

So how do you get more website traffic?

Recruit an army of affiliates and train them to send YOU tons of traffic.  If you motivate and train your affiliates to earn revenue for themselves this will ultimately drive new customers to your site.  Keeping your affiliates pumped up and selling isn’t easy.  But their success is paramount to your online success.

If you are already running an affiliate program from your website you already know that most people who sign up for your program are never heard from again.  From my own experience in the early days I would sign up to various affiliate programs, get the link and then not really know what to do with it.  It felt like they were saying: “Well here’s your link now get on with it.”

You need to remain in touch with your affiliates constantly by reminding them of their usernames and passwords and showing them how to log in to check their figures to see how they are doing and keep them informed of new products that they can promote and any changes in procedure.

Most affiliates need leadership, guidance and training to perform well.  Giving them nothing but a text link and banner won’t generate enthusiasm or excitement.  They need to feel part of your business and enjoy promoting it.

Provide up to date sales copy and new material to your affiliates on a regular basis and inform and help them to succeed and make money with your program.  If they don’t make money then you don’t either.

These are difficult and uncertain times.  People are looking for new and different ways to earn extra money to look after their families so there has never been a better time to recruit and advertise for affiliates.

Just remember and always keep in mind that their success is also your success.

Use Twitter to Make Money Online – What You Need to Know

October 27, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Microblogging has become one of the biggest trends in both social networking and making money online. The website Twitter is one of the biggest and most widely used micro blogging sites on the internet, and can be a powerful marketing tool if used properly.

Here’s the key: Using Twitter to make money online is all about driving traffic to places where people will take an action that will put cash in your pockets. Micro blogging gives you a chance to target your audience and build a very personal relationship with them while still using massive leverage.

Because of this, the traffic that you generate using Twitter is some of the best web traffic that you can have visiting your site. This is because if someone visits your site due to something that you mention on Twitter, then you aren’t a ‘total stranger’ to the person.

This means that you have a higher degree of trust with them, and higher trust always = more sales. Also, it can have a viral effect if you are giving people links to content, tools, or information that they enjoy. Imagine passing a link onto people who will repost the link for 100’s of their followers to check out… The possibilities are endless.

One of the most effective tricks of using Twitter to make money online is to use Twitter to drive people to articles that you’ve posted on your blog(s). Blogs are very dynamic and allow you to constantly add new and relevant content on an hourly, daily, or weekly basis. This keeps you fresh and allows you to keep people coming back to your site over and over again…

If you offer people good content on your blog, then they are likely to tell others and return themselves. However getting people to your blog originally can be tricky.

This is where micro blogging really shines because the number one thing that you need to know to make money online (for your own ‘brick and mortar business’, affiliate marketing, or something else) is how to get the right people to visit your site. Twitter and other micro blogging sites will help you to supercharge your targeted traffic faster than nearly any other form of free marketing.

Here’s how it works:

Twitter can help you generate traffic by allowing you to let all of your followers know that you’ve posted something new and letting you link to it. A good tip while doing this is to post the article name as a question that will arouse curiosity. One example might be, “Are you using the #1 trick to making money online with Twitter? (insert your link here)”.

This tip can also be used when using other people’s articles through your blog. Simply tell people that you ran across a great article and link to your blog. Then have a blog entry that summarizes the article or promotes it briefly while linking to the original post.

This will get people to your blog and often they will read other posts, ads, reviews, etc. before clicking through to the main article you are referencing.

This is just one of many ways to use Twitter to make money online by driving traffic to your blog. Use it as an idea and get creative in your own way because the possibilities are endless!

1 Of The Best Ways To Get Website Traffic

October 27, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

I am all in favor of a broad-based approach to getting traffic to a website. However when you first start out it is better that you concentrate on two or three forms of advertising and become good at doing those.

In this article, let’s look at one of the best forms of getting website traffic to your website.

1. The way we want to talk about here is article marketing. There are two parts to using articles to market your business. The first part is to write a quality article, including a resource box with a link to your website. The second part is to submit your article to various directories, where it can be found by readers and search engines.

Although this is not hat hard to do, some people do not have the time or the ability to write articles of their own. If this describes you then you should consider hiring someone to write your articles for you. This is still a very inexpensive form of advertising. You can expect to pay somewhere between $8 to $10 for a 400 word article.

Another thing that’s very important is that you submit your article to the correct directories. There are several that are the best, but one thing to consider is to use a submission service to do your work for you.

There are many of these on the Internet today, but one of the best is a company known as Submityourarticle.com. They offer a program called Article Leverage that allows you to take one article and re-write it into hundreds of unique versions which are then submitted one by one to article directories.

Article Leverage is great because in about 15 minutes you can rewrite the title, the introduction, parts of the body, and your resource box. They then take the variations that you have written and create articles that are recommended to be at least 30% unique.

The resource box is extremely important because this is how people will learn more about your business. If they liked the article that you write, they will be inclined to click on the link in your resource box to go and learn more about you and your website.

A good resource box is one that creates interest and excitement. You do this by basically writing a classified ad that is hyperlinked back to your website around various keyword phrases.

If all this sounds complicated, it really isn’t, and it is a proven way of getting website traffic and advertising your business at the same time.
