Online Advertising for Newbie

November 22, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

You’re new to marketing online, and you need to find out what resources are the best for advertising. What is all the hype about this new trend of online advertising called Pixel Advertising? Emagazine advertising is one of the most popular ways to market yourself online.

Netsurfer became the proverbial canary in the coalmine that succumbed to the hazardous winds blowing across the online advertising market. Participating in online forums about online advertising is an excellent way to get new ideas for your online advertising and for new search engine optimization techniques that are effective as the search engines change their ranking rules. Usually an unscrupulous competitor who wants to break a rival’s bank, online “vandals” who get their kicks causing other people grief, or search engine advertising affiliates who want to earn fat commissions by racking up piles of bogus clicks.

The corollary to this law of web surfing behavior: Anyone who clicks through to your site via an online advertising link needs to know they’ve arrived at the right place as soon as they get there. So here it is, the first law of human web surfing behavior, which you absolutely must take into account when marketing your website: While surfing the web, almost everyone will hit the “back” button if they think there’s a chance, they’ve come to the wrong web page. On the internet, your advertising through search engines, directories, email and other sources takes care of getting the visitors to your website, your “retail store” on the web.

You can overcome the advertising challenge by using the techniques outlined in Part I and Part II of what it takes to advertise your internet business. There are many different factors to consider in running an online business, but I think advertising is one of the most confusing for people to grasp and understand. Effective online advertising is based on matching the ad, or site, to people who are already interested in the products and services being offered.

For a home based start up, online advertising is a potent tool that can maximize visibility, drive traffic to the company’s website, up the sales and build a solid brand in the process. But, unearthing these online riches entails balancing the advertising content so businesses can make money while at the same time not alienating viewers who, up until now, have not been forced to endure institutional advertising in their online video clips. Though there is a wealth of techniques through which online advertising can be carried out, the most popular form at the present is through rich media sources.

Those were just a few of the many ways to do free advertising of your online business. Blogging is a technique that is becoming an extremely effective and almost necessary method of advertising your online business. The infrastructure that is necessary for online advertising can become quite pricy if one wishes to develop an elaborate set of advertisements and as such many small businesses shy away from online aspect of marketing.

The fact is that online advertising is really not all that different in principle from advertising in the rest of the world, as some of the truly successful Internet marketing gurus have pointed out. Google made a revolution in advertising introducing the contextual advertising models in their services AdWords and AdSense. Marketers needed new advertising models so they started making ads using Flash.

So how do you keep online advertising traffic from bouncing? The affiliates can build their site and generate extra traffic by advertising their whereabouts through the numerous options available to online users. Article writing is one way for online businesses to create exposure to their products without the need of spending money for the production of advertisement clips that are more often than not, left unnoticed.

Affiliate Marketing Tips – What Are The Things You Have To Do To Start Promoting Affiliate Products

November 21, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

One of the biggest advantages of the affiliate marketing business is that you will be able to start your own internet business without your own product. If you are still new to this business, you must ensure that you are doing the correct thing so that you will be able to start the business on the right note. So what are the things that you have to do to start promoting the products that you have chosen? The 1st thing that you must do is to join the affiliate program by filling up the form. You have to make sure that the information that you give in the form is accurate as most affiliate networks will send the commission cheque to the address that you have put in the form.  There are some networks that will want you to put in your website link but it is not necessary to fill that portion most of the time. Check with the network on the important information that you have to provide for them. The 2nd thing that you must do is to create your own affiliate link and check that it is correct. Most of the affiliate network uses the cookie technology where it will identify you as the referral so that you will be paid the commission if the customers purchased the product through your link. You will want to manually to the checking to make sure that it goes to the right website. You must also click on the payment link and check whether you are able to see your affiliate ID which will be either at the bottom or on top of the page. This step is very important as this ensures that you will be credited with the commission. The 3rd thing that you must do is to have your own website where you can collect subscribers. Most of the profits that you get will be from the following up with the customers through email. The majority of your referrals will not purchase the product when they see it for the first time. This is the main reason why you will want to get their details so that you will have the opportunity to follow up with them. Provide them with good values like good content and recommend them some good paid resources. When you have built a good relationship with them, they will trust you more and will be more willing to purchase the product from you. Here are the 3 things that you will want to do before you even start promoting the affiliate product that you have chosen. Do ensure that you have done these 3 things as it will ensures that you are starting the business correctly right from the 1st day you operate the business.

What Do They Mean When They Say Social Media

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

According to WikiPedia social media is the use of electronic and Internet tools for the purpose of sharing and discussing information and experiences with other human beings. It offers a fantastic way for you to build an Internet business compared to even just a couple of years ago. Let’s take a little closer look at social media and how you can get the maximum benefit from it with your own Internet business.
The key thing with social media is how it allows interaction between you and your website visitors. I also want to say at this time I hope you have a blog set up and are utilizing it to create social media. Blogging is a fantastic platform that allows interaction in many different ways between visitors and the content you are trying to present.
For example, the way you post an article on the blog today can be totally different than creating web pages were in the past. You can integrate pictures, audio, video, and other things to make your blog seem more exciting and alive
How you create interaction with your visitor is by allowing them to post comments on your blog, participate in contests, vote on polls, or even add content directly by writing blog articles for you.
This interaction is what creates a feeling of community amongst all of the different bloggers and visitors. People can begin to share their own experiences and stories as links to the theme of your blog.
Networking is a big part of social media. In fact social networking is another term that has come out of this. The idea of networking is not new and has been around businesses and clubs for many, many years.
Network marketing is a perfect example of a business that is built totally around people helping people. In the off line world traditional businesses would get together for Rotary club meetings and various things that allowed them to network with other business owners.
Today there are feeds are available such as an RSS feed to keep subscribers up to date on what is going on in your business. Many people will subscribe to your RSS feed because they want to continue to network with you after they are getting ready to leave your blog initially.
All of this offers a tremendous opportunity for building loyalty amongst readers and repeat visitors were more sales. Social media and social networking makes this all possible for you.

Making Money Online: Choose a Copywriter To Help You Become Successful On The Internet

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Hiring a copywriter who will help you reach the success you want in your online business can be a challenge, even to experienced marketers. You will want someone who understands what works online and who will have a system for learning what works in your own business. As a copywriter,
I have worked with clients from diverse industries, ranging in experience from newbie to veteran. Here are the recommendations I would make to anyone who is considering hiring a copywriter to attract more clients and revenue in their Internet business.
(1) Look for a copywriter who has a system in place to work with new clients, such as a questionnaire or a diagnostic. This step is important because many talented copywriters get bogged down in the early phases of a project. And most clients need structure to be sure they contribute to the process.
(2) Choose your copywriter by working together on a small project, such as a diagnostic or website critique. You’ll get a sense of how she thinks or how he interprets your ideas. Proposals and free consultations rarely are useful to predict a productive working relationship.
(3) Get ready to help your copywriter do a great job for you. Some clients pay a copywriter to research their target markets. Others want a “hired gun” who just comes in and writes. If you just need copywriting, be prepared to answer detailed questions about what your market wants and will buy.
(4) Organize your information into one package to send your copywriter. Once your copywriter starts writing, even a small change can have a huge impact. Your copywriter may be unable to incorporate your new ideas or you may be charged for additional work.
(5) Create a web design that supports your copywriter’s words. Even the most brilliant copy won’t work if you write your content in italics or center your body copy. Choosing blue type on a blue background will make sure nobody reads the words you paid for.
(6) Recognize that your copywriters will be targeting your audience, who may be quite different from you, your family and your personal friends. Even clients who know you well will not respond to the copy the same way a prospect would.
Live with the copy, make sure the facts are accurate and then go live. It’s tempting to spend weeks and months trying to make everything perfect. But you won’t know what really works till you test the responses of your website visitors.
(7) Implement your project quickly. Every day you delay, you leave money on the table. Often my clients get stalled because of delays by the web designer or another member of the team. Most online copywriters know reliable, competent designers and developers. They can help you see your project to the finish line.

Affiliate Products That Make Money Every Month

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

There are many ways to make money online. One of the easiest and most profitable ways is by using affiliate products. It is a great way to start your Internet business because you do not need to create your own product, which can be difficult and time consuming. In fact, using affiliate products, you are not bothered by any of the day to day problems of selling a product online. The seller takes care of everything; you only need to send people to the seller’s website and cash checks.

And, as an added benefit, you can usually sign up to sell affiliate products for free. One of the best and well known affiliate dealers is ClickBank. They offer thousands of products in practically every niche you can think of.

Using traditional affiliate products, you make money each time a sale is made. If you make no sales, you make no money. But some products work a little differently. These are called residual products. A residual product requires the buyer to make regular monthly or quarterly payments. If someone you refer purchases a residual product, you make money every month when they make a payment. Good examples of residual products are monthly web hosting programs.

The advantage of recommending residual products is the fact that you make the sale once and continue to receive checks for as long as the buyer remains in the program. For this reason, it is a huge advantage to participate in residual income affiliate programs.

Almost all of the big Internet Guru’s participate in at least a few residual programs. And you should too. When looking for affiliate programs to promote, use some traditional products along with a couple of residual products. So, get started now and make some money!

Using Affiliate Products to Start Making Money Online

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Making money online with affiliate programs actually has very little to do with the affiliate products. After you’ve completed your research to determine which products you want to promote, your involvement with the product ends. From that point on it is all about traffic. To be successful using affiliate products, you need to focus on sending traffic to the merchant’s sale page. Period.

Most affiliate products convert at about 1 percent. That means for every 100 targeted visitors that see the product, only 1 will make a purchase. Many people try to diversify their Internet business by recommending eight or even ten different affiliate products.

Although this may sound like a good business strategy, it can make it very difficult to make money in the beginning, particularly if you only do this part time.

Over the past 7 days, I’ve sent a total of 848 visitors to the affiliate programs that I promote. Out of those 848 visitors, 7 of them made purchases. I’m able to do those kinds of numbers because I do this full time. If you are only working part time, you might only be able to get one tenth as much traffic.

If you are sending a total of 85 visitors a week split among 9 different affiliate programs, it might take you almost three months before you generate your first sale. Most people will give up long before that time and, as a result, they will never make money online.

If you are working this business part time, and you want to make money using affiliate products, use just one or two reasonably priced affiliate products. Focus all of your marketing efforts on these products. Using this strategy, you might expect to make your first sale in two to three weeks. But, in order to do this, you have to market aggressively. You should write articles, post on forums, use some form of outside advertising (even if it is free), and post ads on your site. Of course, this is not a complete list. But the point is, you need to use a variety of strategies to direct traffic to your merchants. By doing this, you can start making money online using affiliate products.

5 Ways To Use Social Media Optimization

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Social media optimization is where you use different ways to generate publicity for your Internet business. These ways center on the social media and online communities of people who have common interests such as yours.
In this article let’s talk about five ways you can use social media optimization to get the word out about your Internet business.
1. One of the most effective ways to use social media optimization to build your Internet business is to combine blogging and search engine optimization. Optimizing a blog post, so that its search engine friendly is no different than optimizing a web page has been in the past.
They key here is to target longer keyword phrases so that you have a better chance of ending up on page 1 of a search engine faster. To do this just include your keyword phrase as close to the front of the title is possible, and also include it in the body of the article with emphasis such as bolding or underlining.
2. RSS feeds are another excellent way to optimize your blog for social media. Having a large subscriber base to your RSS feed is a great way to instantly keep people up to date on what you are doing in your Internet business every time you post a blog article.
3. Adding a Digg button would be another way that you could optimize your blog for social media purposes. This allows people to vote on the popularity of your blog article and it is one of the largest social directories, so they get a lot of search engine traffic there as well. This can lead to back links to your blog which serve as search engine bait.
4. You Tube videos are an extremely popular way to get your sales message out in a blog post. These can also create viral marketing, which is extremely important when it comes to creating more traffic that you might normally not get. A popular video can be downloaded and watched literally thousands of times as word spreads about it.
5. Sharing photos is another way to get people involved. Websites such as Flickr make this very easy to do. Flickr is an image and video hosting website, web services suite, and online community platform that many bloggers use to share photos online.
This is five ways to use social media optimization to get people involved with your Internet business. It is worth spending time learning how to do this because this form of creating publicity is only going to increase in the future.

Things To Consider When Creating Your Social Media Strategy

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Taking advantage of the many different ways to promote an Internet business is not something you just sit down and dream up. It actually involves skills and taking the time to learn the many different advancements being made almost daily.
Social media is one of these new technologies that the average person is not going to know about until they do some research. It also requires that you create a strategy for how to use these new forms of marketing to benefit your business the most. You may actually need to have a business meeting with yourself and create a social media strategy.
There are a couple of things you must address when you determine how to properly use social media.
1. First of all what is the goal that you’re trying to achieve with them? Are you trying to educate your readers and at same time brand yourself as an expert with credibility?
2. Are you trying to make sales for products you represent?
3. Maybe you are just trying to build a list for future follow up!
Social media tools are really only as good as the way you use them. For example blogging is a fantastic way to put your thoughts online very quickly. It is something that doesn’t require a special skill and anybody can do it
Adding video to your website or blog is a little harder. This will require that you not only learn how to record a video, but that you also learn how to get it online where people can view it.
Video is very appealing and is interactive with your reader. However, so is blogging when you allow your visitors to post comments, add content, take surveys, and so on. You may even want to do both of these but again, your strategy will determine whether you’re going to learn new skills or not.
One thing that is fantastic about social media is how it allows you to create a community within your business. You could set up your own discussion forum if you wanted.
You could join existing social networks such as Facebook or eEntrepreneur. These are excellent places to meet potential business partners and build your business using social media this way.
You may not even know exactly the social media strategy that you are looking for right now. Try different things and see what appeals to you. The key is determining exactly what you want to get from the social media that you are involved in and then be consistent in how you do it.

Releasing News About Your Internet Business

November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

As with any business, you need to get the word out for your Internet business. And getting the word out on the Internet, is a little bit different from conventional marketing. On the Internet, traffic is everything. Without traffic, it doesn’t matter how well you design your site, it simply won’t take off. And if this wasn’t challenging enough, you also need to generate targeted traffic. That is, visitors who are genuinely interested in what you have to say (or sell) on your website. You can easily tell if you get the right kind of traffic just by examining your stats. Usually, genuinely interested visitors will take action on your site. They will click on links, examine your pages, send you emails, subscribe to your newsletter, or even make a purchase. And you want them to be doing something. Otherwise, you are just wasting bandwidth, serving up the pages. There are many ways you can attract targeted traffic. One of the best ways to attract such traffic, is to release news about your internet business on a regular basis. See, one of the greatest mistakes that new internet marketers make is that they wait for things to be perfect before they start marketing their site. This is not the correct approach to adopt. You have to forget about perfection! As soon as your website is ready to take in orders, you have to start promoting your site. Don’t wait until your site or product is product. Start promoting immediately! As an example, let’s say you want to build a membership site with loads of features. You want to have forums, blogs, private member’s lounge, download area, and so on. Don’t wait until you have all these features ready before promoting your site. You can start with just one feature, and release a piece of news about that one feature. It could be the launch of a new blog, or the launch of a new forum, or whatever. You get the idea. As you continue to work on your site and improve on your business, there will be tons of opportunities to release news about various improvements. You launch a new blog, you release some news. You start a download area, you release some news, and then you keep going. If you adopt this approach, you get a lot more exposure for your internet business. In addition, you are also making money along the way, which is great. So never wait, always promote. A great way to release news about your internet business is to submit articles. These articles contain interesting news about your web business, and article directories are more than happy to accept them. With each article, you can include up to 2 (sometimes 3) links. This is great for direct traffic, and also for SEO purposes. Remember, what is want is targeted traffic. It is logical to assume that if someone reads the entire news article and clicks on a link to visit your site, he or she will be more likely to be interested in what you have to offer. When you have targeted visitors on your site, half the battle is won. And success is just round the corner. Now all you have to do is to find a way to convert the visitor into paying customers.
