How You Can Take Advantage of Social Media Sites

November 20, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you have decided to jump on the bandwagon and join thousand of people using social marketing as a tool to grow their business, then you are on the right track. Social marketing has proven to be effective and sustainable in influencing the target market to buy your products and services. One of the most utilized strategies is by tapping on social marketing sites that are popping up everywhere. Of course it is necessary to choose only those that are reliable and good for your ecommerce business. Among the most popular social marketing sites today are:

• Flickr: It is perhaps the best online photo sharing site in the world. It allows you to showcase photos to friends, family and even to those you do not know. Launched 5 years ago, it now has more than 3 billion photos stored. It is a great site to promote your business.

• YouTube: This video social marketing site works wonders for any business. With YouTube, we can share videos for everyone to see. By uploading some videos, you will have people comment and share ideas on your page, which is a great way to understand your target market.

• Metacafe: It is the number 2 site for video social marketing. You can upload and share videos about your products and services so people will know who you are and what you have to offer.

• Digg: In this website, you will find everything you need- from articles, blogs, insights, etc. If you like to improve your marketing and sales, then you need to get started with Digg. This is especially helpful for those who are new to social marketing.

• MySpace: With the music and video now part of its package, MySpace has definitely become one of the top social marketing sites in the world. It has high exposure to most countries in the West and East. Asia is also quite into MySpace too. With so many people joining MySpace, it will be easier to find your target market here.

Social media sites are indeed very helpful in getting you on track with your business goals. In so many ways, they allow you to stay connected to your target customers through photo and video sharing, blogging, commenting, and many more. The important thing with social marketing is you need to be able to keep up with the demand. People feed you with information- they tell you what they want and what they do not want, and in return, they expect you to be able to address their concerns. As a good social marketer, you have to be ready for any challenges that come your way when you use these social marketing tools.

As any good social marketer knows, being prepared for anything is vital to the success of your business. If you can do this, if you can apply the techniques involved in the social marketing process, then go ahead and tell the whole world about your business. You will find that it is probably one of the best things you have ever done.

Making Money Using Twitter – Tweet Your Way To The Top “>

November 15, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Twitter is a global phenomenon with hundreds of thousands of people joining it every month, that is hundreds of thousands of eyeballs that you have the chance to get to your blogs or websites!

As with anything online then you need to make sure you are not spamming the site, the internet certainly does not need any more spammers! But I’m going to teach you in this guide how to go about it the right way and be seen as a trusted advisor rather than a ruthless salesman.

It will require some work, this is not some spammy automatic traffic system that you can turn on and forget about – then again neither is it low quality spammy traffic (if you do it right). Using these techniques you can get high quality, qualified traffic eagerly heading over to almost any link that you send.

Forget open rates on email messages, in Twitter every message is already ‘opened’ for your audience to see!

Let’s get straight into this guide by talking about exactly what Twitter is…

To your profits!

What is Twitter?

Unless you have been living under a digital rock for the past year or so then you can’t help but notice the meteoric rise of Twitter into the public limelight, it is being talked about everywhere now!

Almost every blog has applications active for it, the news adores it, people are addicted to it, and as always, new ways to market with it are born.

For instance Namecheap, a popular domain registrar, did a Christmas competition where they would ask a question every hour on Twitter, and the first couple of people who gave the correct answer as a reply in Twitter would get a free domain registration. I know this bagged them a lot of followers, which is a captive audience they can now market to again and again!

So what is Twitter?

Well the owners say:

“Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co–workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?”

But Wikipedia gives us a clearer idea with its definition:

“Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users’ updates (known as tweets), which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.”

So it is a micro-blog where you make micro-blog posts called tweets. Its popularity stupefies most people, you either love it or you hate it, and most of the world still cannot understand why anybody would want to know that you are ‘having breakfast’ or any of the incredibly mundane things that people post.

Yet it does have a silver lining, ’simplicity’ is a word I see the guys behind Twitter use a lot, and that is definitely part of the appeal, no groups, no clicking around constantly to find things, nobody changing the text to huge red letters as they type…

Just a window when you go in where all the messages pop up so you can see what you want to read, and the length of them (140 characters) makes people get to the point quickly!

Are you owner of a “Crackberry” or are you considering adding this powerful little tool to your real estate arsenal? The BlackBerry is a SmartPhone that seems virtually designed for the busy broker, Realtor and agent, with plenty of customizable features and support for downloadable applications that can make your life a lot easier while you’re on the road.1. Google MapsOne of the main attractions of a BlackBerry is its support for Google Maps. Downloading the Google Maps application means that you have access to all the locations and searching capabilities supported by Google. It’s a great way of finding directions to the next home and quick solutions for finding gas stations, restaurants and hotels on short notice. Google.com/mobile2. Opera MiniThere are times when the BlackBerry Browser just doesn’t work. At all. Opera Mini is a great browser for accessing those websites not designed for mobile access. With a zoom in/out feature, you can quickly jump to the area of the website you need to examine in detail. OperaMini.com3. Facebook“Wait a minute,” you say, “Isn’t that just for fun?” Not for the many real estate professionals who keep up with friends, family AND clients on their Facebook page. Many people have a Facebook account for their professional life that’s separate from their personal one. They generally upload pictures of listings, make contacts, find out more about their clients’ needs and involve themselves in the thriving real estate communities that Facebook supports. Facebook.com4. Twitter Another app that one might think is more suited to leisure time, Twitter actually improves search engine optimization and could become an agent’s best friend as far as Google is concerned. A carefully optimized Twitter page could net you a following and clients. Updating from your BlackBerry takes seconds. Twitter.com5. Homes for SaleDeveloped by J. Rockcliff Realtors, this app uses your BlackBerry’s GPS to home in on your location and sends you information on the homes near your location. You can quickly access the sales price, size of home and property, tax information, photos and special features using only your Blackberry to locate you. This is an award winning application you can download for free at Rockcliff.comThese are only 5 of the great tools that BlackBerry can support. Keep your eyes open for more developments, especially in the real estate sector.

Low Cost Targeted Traffic Generation Tips

November 10, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

There are many viable strategies at work in a standard marketing campaign, some more successful than others. Here are a few tried and tested strategies which can help you increase your targeted website traffic without fracturing your budget.1. Build an Email List of ProspectsRequest that visitors to your site leave their contact information so you can send them information and updates on a regular basis. Keep the lines of communication open by sharing useful information and posting content-rich articles in between product updates. 2. Spread the word within Social Networking CommunitiesSocial networking sites such as MySpace and Facebook are a great avenue for advertising to a wider audience. It’s a good idea to first locate people you currently know with accounts on these sites. Then they can help you to “spread the word.”3. Networking OfflineTake the opportunity to meet like-minded people within your local community. As you meet people and identify those who might have a need for your products or services, share your website information with them. This passive marketing strategy allows you to identify prospects without a large advertising budget for an aggressive internet marketing campaign.4. Nurture Quality Relationships with your Current ContactsThink about the people you already know: current clients, colleagues, peers in professional networking organizations, friends, family, etc. Most of them are already very aware of your talents and skills, and would be happy to help you get started by referring business your way. You may need to educate (not sell!) them about your business and who would benefit from your products or services, but once they understand… they will be happy to provide your website information to targeted prospects.5. Start a Local Business ConsortiumGet together regularly with a group of complementary business owners and help each other by cross referring potential customers. For example, a handyman may routinely meet people in need of a good house cleaning service. Leverage your resources as a group and save a great deal of marketing dollars. Provide your group members with business cards with your website address and ask that they hand out whenever they meet someone who may be in need of your products or services. These are just some of the cost-effective strategies you can use to begin an effective low-cost marketing campaign to get targeted traffic to your website.

Where To Find Easy Site Builders

November 7, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you’re new to the website building world, figuring out all the features to use for your site can be a little overwhelming. But there are several easy site builder features that you can take advantage of that will walk you through the process of making a great site that is sure to attract customers.

If you’re already a member of social networking sites like Facebook or MySpace, you can use the easy site builder tactics that are provided on these sites. Musical artists and small business owners use these sites all the time to create sub-websites that will drive ‘fans’ to learn more about their music or business. You should include some pictures of yourself, as well as a description of what you do (an artist or professional bio is ideal as well). These sites are also effective because you can add people to your network, so you’ll have a built-in following when you post new work or upload new music. You may also want to follow the easy site builder directions on Twitter to make your business grow. All you’ll need to do is create short blurbs about your business; this is a great way to be descriptive without being too wordy.

Easy site builder assistance tools like Geocites, or the Google Sites page, can also help you to get your site off the ground. The website builder gives you descriptive instructions every step of the way, and provides you with a number of templates to choose from that will make your website especially creative. There will most likely be Web advertisements on your site as well, so you’ll need to prepare for this if you’re using the program for your ’starter’ site.

Blogging sites like Blogger.com and WordPress are also easy site builder programs that are great for writers. If you keep a journal on a regular basis, blogging is a way to enhance your writing skills by bringing up relevant topics for your business, or sharing professional information. You can establish a following with your blogs as well, so your friends, family, and business associates will receive notifications each time you create a new blog.

All you’ll need to do to create a great website is follow the instructions that are given to you by the free site builder. You’ll see how to add the font to each of your web pages, and you’ll receive suggestions for borders and shading. Most free easy site builder programs will also show you some examples of finished websites, so you’ll have a good idea of how your pages are supposed to turn out.

From the moment you build your site, you should also optimize it for the search engines. Search engine optimization, zoekmachine optimalisatie in my language, is one of the best ways to attract targeted visitors to a website. If you want to outsource your seo work, then please have a look at website optimalisatie

Twitter the next revolution of staying connected?

November 5, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

What is Twitter.com? Why is there so much fuss being made about this innocuous website? And why is Barack Obama such a big fan of it? In short, this website allows friends, family members, colleagues and other acquaintances to keep in touch with each other and know what they are up to by answering one seemingly innocent question: What are you doing? When people start replying to this question, you would be able to know exactly where they are and what they are up to.

So why exactly do we need to use Twitter.com? Well, for one thing, it would be nice to know what your friends and family members are doing. For another, if in case you come to know that they are doing something fun, you can join them. Another reason for using Twitter is that timely updates from family and friends are always meaningful. An anxious mom of a college kid would want to know what her son or daughter is up to. Twitter is an easy way to keep track of the activities of teenagers. Tweets are instant messages of up to 140 characters in length

Twitter is so much fun and so easy to use. All you need is a login ID or an e-mail address. You can start making posts whenever you feel like doing so. You can keep track of your colleagues and in case you come to know that they are late for some presentation, the information could come in very handy for you. You can join your friends on the party circuit if you come to know through this great social networking site that they are partying. You can stay connected and keep track of your friends, family and co-workers or you can decide to stop following them whenever you feel like doing so.

Twitter also allows you to set quiet timings for yourself so that you are not interrupted. This comes in very handy whenever you just need some time for yourself. This site not complicated at all. You can even access it through your mobile phone. You need not worry about updating it every day. You can post whenever you wish. Twitter is a website which gives you complete control over the information you wish to upload. You won’t have to worry about information overload while using Twitter. In fact, it is the very antithesis of information overload. You can keep control over what you want others to see.

Twitter.com is a website which is very exciting. The experience you get while using Twitter is just awesome. You can ensure that your near and dear ones always know what you are up to and vice versa. You can also find out what your peers and co-workers are doing. You can always ensure that you are never out of the loop. In this world, which is so fast-paced, don’t you think Twitter is the best thing since sliced bread? You can keep in touch with just a few clicks. Isn’t that great news? So what are you waiting for? Get connected and stay connected! Be aware of what your near ones are doing without leaving your seat.

Barack Obama was able to connect with all of those people in USA and even had different ID’s for different states. With these different ID states Barack Obama was able to say what he is going to do for each state. Important news within political war was updated almost instantly on Twitter.

So what about Internet Marketers? Well Internet Marketers are always looking for potential customers who are interested in their products and services. So what can be of a better advantage than to be exposed to a mass audience who have different interests and hobbies, where you can pick at each category and market effectively.

How to find people to follow on Twitter

November 5, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Twitter is a relatively new social networking website that has fundamentally changed the way people communicate and exchange information. However, without people to follow Twitter has practically no value. Depending on your interests, industry preferences, market orientation or any other factor that drives your searching criteria, you may find people to follow; easily and quickly.

The first thing you can do as soon as you open your own Twitter account is to check on the people that Twitter suggests. On the up, right side of the menu, there is a tab ‘Find People’. When you click on this tab, there are four options. One option is ‘Find on Twitter’ where you can search for people who already have a Twitter account and you know them; they are friends, family, colleagues and so on. Second option is ‘Find on other networks’ where you can add your email and password from Gmail, Yahoo or AOL and find people from your address book who already use Twitter. Third option is ‘Suggested Users’. Normally, according to your one line bio, but also based on some users’ popularity, Twitter suggests users you may want to follow and who may have similar professions, interests, jobs. Alternatively, they may be celebrities, global news organizations, global forums, economic and financial institutions and many others. The fourth option is to ‘Invite by email’ anyone you want to have in your network.

Besides, there are sites that can help you find people to follow. Tweelow is a cool site, pronounced as ‘The Twitter Yellow Pages’ that classifies the search by category. Moreover, for each person there is information about the number of followers he/she has. This is helpful because when people have many followers, it automatically means that they have interesting content. Although Tweelow is a valuable tool, it will take a lot of time to navigate to all categories and find the people you want to follow.

Just Tweet It is a directory where you can sign up and add your name so that people with similar interests can follow you or you can follow them. Just Tweet it offers the FeaturedUsers application where you can enter your Twitter username and get more Twitter followers. Here is how it works: by purchasing impressions in FeaturedUsers, your Twitter profile appears immediately in the FeaturedUsers.com network with a banner that shows your short one line bio and your picture. The first time, you are granted free impressions. Then, you can buy 1,000, 3,090 & 10,000 banner impressions with $10, $30 and $100 respectively. The more impressions you buy, the more often your profile appears on FeaturedUsers.com network.

Twubble can help you expand your Twitter network by scanning the list of people you follow to see who they follow. When you press the ‘Find some friends’ button a pop up box appears, and there you should enter your Twitter username and password. Then, Twubble comes up with a list of Twitter users you may feel like following.

In general, if you check on the followers/follow ratio you can tell if a person is likely to follow you or not. People who have many followers but they don’t follow many people, are less likely to follow you. Keep in mind that Twitter is a place to create mutual relationships and therefore, mutual opportunities should be offered and taken.

I work as a financial and investment advisor but my passion is writing, music and photography. Writing mostly about finance, business and music, being an amateur photographer and a professional dj, I am inspired from life.

Being a strong advocate of simplicity in life, I love my family, my partner and all the people that have stood by me with or without knowing. And I hope that someday, human nature will cease to be greedy and demanding realizing that the more we have the more we want and the more we satisfy our needs the more needs we create. And this is so needless after all.

Tips To Establish Your Online Presence: Twitter

November 3, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

What is Twitter?

Twitter is an increasingly popular online communication tool. Free to use and jam packed with potential, Twitter allows you to post and receive messages from friends, family and colleagues in real-time.

Also known as a micro-blogging platform, Twitter entries, or ‘tweets’, are limited to 140 characters. This may make entries sound too brief, but you’ll soon find it makes it easier to post on the fly – great for communicating with peers and building up a visible web presence.

How and Why is Twitter Useful?

Twitter can be used for:

* Note-taking, jotting down ideas or bookmarking websites for personal use.
* Sharing websites, blog posts and other interesting information with your audience of followers.
* Instantaneous sharing of photographs and videos from your mobile phone with your followers.
* Receiving answers to questions posed to your followers – but remember, the conversation is two way. Always be polite and try and help others as much as they help you.
* Twitter is great for making worthwhile business connections.
* Organise meet ups, or ‘tweet-ups’ with like-minded individuals.
* Publish breaking updates of news, product releases and other information in real-time.

How to Join Twitter:

* Point your browser to twitter.com.
* Click “Get Started – Join!”
* Enter your details (Remember to always use your full name or alias for consistency in personal branding).
* Click “Create my Account”.

You’re now free to begin making connections, seeding content and engaging in conversation whenever and wherever you like. You’ll soon be getting the hang of it and will be on your way to improving your web presence and visibility.

You can also tweet your LookupPage profile. More people will find it and be able to get far more insight into what you are all about.

It’s all about making a connection with your potential audience, so don’t forget to maximise the benefits of your LookupPage profile by incorporating it into every online visibility exercise you undertake.

Next week we will be looking at how to use Facebook for corporate and personal branding, so keep an eye out.

By allowing you to create or improve your online presence, Lookup Page can help you to take control of your Google CV and online reputation.
