Why to Approach a Copywriting Agency

November 21, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

There are general principles of copywriting that all copywriters will be aware of. An example is the fact that they would need to market the product, service or website and maintain positive words. This everyone will be aware of. The difference comes when the copy needs to trigger sales.

This means that there needs to be extra skills that would help him make the copy as good as possible. It needs to be catchy and attention grabbing. It also needs to be as persuasive as possible. So, there are a lot of things that would need to be done so that this is achieved.

There are several ways that you can approach copywriting so that it is more effective. You know, copywriting can be done in so many forms. There is article marketing and there is also blogging. So, it is best that you get someone who will be able to provide both or even more.

Freelancers are limited

There are so many freelance copywriters who work on their own. This would usually mean that they get fewer projects to work on hence low experience. Sometimes they even specialize in bolgging or articles alone. But when you need both of these, you need somewhere where you get all.

From a copywriting agency, you can be sure that you will get article marketing, blogging, press writing and several other services. Sometimes they even have SEO copywriting and all these are important. The team can help you understand several other things.

Time is money

True, a freelance copywriter can be very good. But, because they have just two hands and one brain they may not manage to do all that you need in the stipulated time. Your articles or blogs need to reach a wider market just so that you are sure you are being noticed.

So, the freelancer will do a good job but it will be late. Someone else who is using combined force will have posted several of such articles and they will have taken the market. So, it is just important that you go for the combined force way or approach. It is safe for your business.

Quality will help you sell

For web copies to be effective, they need to be of the highest quality. There are so many things that will help this quality be clear. The fact that the information needs to be valuable warrants a good research. An individual trying to push time with so much at hand will not research well.

If they manage to research, there will be several spelling and grammatical errors. In a copywriting agency, they will normally have in the team editors and proofreaders. So, you will be sure that work will be getting to you when it is clean.

Several eyes can spot a small mistake. Two eyes are never enough. You post a poor quality web copy and your business pays for it. You have no traffic flow and no sales. Is this what you want?

Various Options For Designing Your Blog

November 19, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Having a well designed blog which reflects your blog’s subject is very important if you want to capture the attention of readers. Your blog should have a clean look and easy flow. If you are not a blog design expert, don’t worry, you have plenty of options.
The first consideration will be which blogging platform you are planning to use. If you choose Blogger, you may be stuck with the templates available at the site. If you look around, you may find some Blog skins or templates that may work with the new version of Blogger. Do an internet search and then play around with it. If you don’t have any luck, then you may have to go with the default templates. However, the good news is that the updated Blogger has a lot of options and you can dress up your blog with pictures and videos really easy. Going with one of the plainer templates and then adding some pictures and video will still allow you to create a really cool blog.
While there are many blog platforms, the only other one I am going to address in this article is Wordpress. Wordpress is a really popular blogging platform as you probably already know. There are also some really cool free templates that you can use. There are available templates for nearly every subject matter, which makes it great for you to pick up an appropriate one really quickly. Check out wpthemespot.com, wpskins.org and freewpthemes.net
Another option, as it concerns designing your blog, is to have one built. This allows you to have a blog created exactly how you want it. You won’t have to settle or try to make a template fit your blog. There are plenty of places where you can hire someone quite affordably to create a blog template for you. Try Get A Freelancer, Elance, Rentacoder and Guru for starters.
Having a professional looking, well put together blog will allow you to make a great first impression. It will also make people want to add your blog to their favorites and come back. Of course, your blog can’t just look good, it has to have some substance. A nice looking website will get you some attention but it won’t make readers commit. You have several options when it comes to designing your blog. You can use Blogger which comes with ready-made templates and then add pictures and videos to make it unique. If you choose to use Wordpress, there are plenty of places where you can find free themes. Lastly, you can hire someone to create a design for you. You can look for designers at places like GetaFreelancer, Guru, Elance and Rentacoder. You can also check out internet marketing forums like Digital Point.
Investing a little bit of money or time to create a good looking blog will most likely be time or money well spent. A nice looking blog will make you appear more professional and give the impression that you are serious about your blog. If you take yourself seriously then other people are apt to so as well.

Customized SEO Tricks for Making Money Online

November 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Who does not desire to put some extra money in their pocket? If you ask me the same question to me I would never hesitate to answer that I always desire to spend randomly without any tension that would keep my fist tight, impulses under control preventing me to do so. I just hate it. And I would also like everyone to earn more to spend more. And fortunately there are a number of freelancer websites that you can join. You may work at home and put some extra money in your pocket starting with $0 capital.

Well isn’t it mind blowing? The World Wide Web, being an economy in itself, offers a variety of chances to seek fortunes and you can try your hand at freelance jobs like data encoding, medical transcription, article composition and programming but for all these you need a base of operation in the Internet that will help you to earn unlimited income. There are numerous vendor sites that offer Internet surfers the opportunity of earning additional income in exchange for the promotion of their website and products. You will only need to sign-up for affiliate memberships.

Promotion of the vendor sites follows creation of your purposeful websites well designed. To promote the vendor site you will need to add links to the site’s home page and some specific products, which has the probability to sell more. Your website must have space to accommodate these links. You also need to add the ID or reference number to the link that you will be receiving as soon as you sign-up for affiliate memberships so that the vendor can identify your referral.

Next very important step is to write content on the product you are selling within limited words and make sure that your content should be relevant and filled with keywords that relate to the product itself. But usage of the keyword must be done in a natural process. You should also remember to use you keywords in your text anchor link. Remember not to stuff your contents with keywords turning people off instead you should emphasized on the basic reason behind the idea of adding keywords to your content is to maximize your efforts with more clicks. Allotting one page for each product will help you in search engine result rankings. Studies have shown that advertisements that rhyme are more effective than that lacks it. So if the first sentence of your web copy has a suitable rhyme, especially one that is key worded can be quite challenging especially if you are trying to fit just a couple of lines on an advertising button or a banner. This is just one option where you can possibly earn a lot more than your current income if you work sincerely.

Make Money Blogging: 5 Simple Steps to Make Money as a Blogger

November 3, 2009 by IBI · 1 Comment

Anyone can make money blogging; you can even earn enough to quit your present job if you do it right.  But you should be careful with books or courses promising to make you rich overnight.

You might have seen or heard of reports about bloggers making several thousands of dollars every day.

What you don’t know is that it might have taken them many years, or they might have to spend several bucks, to accumulate enough backlinks and traffic. Perhaps they might have their own websites or JV partners, where they can leverage from each others’ assets.

If you’re just starting to blog and you don’t have your own network yet, don’t worry. In this article, I’ll show you how to make money blogging using 5 simple steps. As long as you’re willing to learn and take action, you can skyrocket your earnings in no time.

Step 1: Decide the specific topic or niche of your blog.

Your blog topics should be something that both you, and your audience, are familiar with or passionate about.

Let’s say you want to make money blogging about video games. If you’e a WarCraft fan, and you understand the game from top to bottom, you’re more likely to come up with beneficial content than if you were to write something completely uninteresting or foreign to you.

Step 2:  Create a professional-looking blog.

Choose an eye-catching design and style for your blog. You can find free themes and plugins on the internet, so you can build attractive blogs and maximize their full moneymaking potentials.

Step 3: Post valuable, entertaining or controversial content on your blog.

It’s better if you write the content yourself, so that your personality may shine through. But in case you can’t think of any ideas or you’re pressed for time, you could always outsource the task to a dependable freelancer.  Remember, if you want to make money blogging, you need to invest time and/or money in providing excellent content.

Let’s say you have a WarCraft blog offering free tips for a soon-to-launch ebook, what’s a good plan?

Well, you could write 300-600 word quality articles related to your World of WarCraft blog, and post an article at least 5 times a week in it. If you give quality content, your credibility or authority level shoots up.

Getting people to write comments is an excellent way to get free content and make money blogging. People love to join hot discussions. Encourage comment posting by offering certain prizes for blog commenters of the month. For example, you could give $50-$100, gift cards to Amazon, or copies of your own products (in case you don’t want to offer money).

By posting valuable content and encouraging comments, you’re slowly building a network of fans to your blog.

Step 4: Monetize it.

There are a number of ways to make money blogging through various monetization streams.

You could promote your own products related to your content. If you provide good solid information and they’re satisfied, they are more likely to buy from you.

If you don’t have your own products, you could buy products with resale or private label rights. But if you don’t want to go through any hassles, you could simply promote affiliate products related to your content.

You could also post Google adsense on your blog, so you can make money blogging whenever someone clicks on those ads, even if they didn’t buy anything.

You can also make money by using pay-per-action programs. These programs usually pay you more than adsense, but less than the normal affiliate programs. How do you earn with pay-per-action programs? Every time someone does a specific action that the advertiser intends them to do (whether it’s filling up a form, downloading a report, subscribing to a list, etc.), you get paid a certain amount.

If your blog becomes popular enough, you could also offer advertising space where marketers will pay you to put their advertisements in your blog.

Step 5: Bring in the traffic.

There are different techniques to generate traffic and make money blogging.

Set up your blog posts to be “pinged” automatically to a list of ping sites every time you make a new post. Pinging is a method that allows your content to be indexed faster by the search engines.

Use Google Adwords or other pay-per-click methods to advertise your blog. When people search for certain keywords related to your blog, your pay-per-click ad comes out. You only pay every time someone clicks on your ad.

Create informative or entertaining videos, advertise your blog in that video, and upload them to video-sharing sites. Youtube may be the most popular one, but there are other sites worth uploading your videos to. You may use a free service like tubemogul.com to simultaneously upload your videos to a variety of video-sharing sites of your choosing.

Submit your blog to blog directories. Simply search for “blog directories” in Google and you’ll get a list to submit your blog details to.

One of the most effective ways to make money blogging is to contact other bloggers and set up a proposal – you put their blog link on your blog, and vice-versa.

Write articles and submit them to article directories. You can then advertise your blog in the resource box.  You could even use your blog content as articles to submit to article directories. But that’s not all…

You could maximize your content to its full capacity by converting your articles to powerpoint presentations and posting them at slideshare.net. You could also convert those powerpoint presentations into videos, and then post them to various video-sharing sites.

Use various Web 2.0 methods to make money blogging.  Bookmark your links at social bookmarking sites like digg.com, stumblepon.com, propeller.com, and many others. However, you should always observe proper netiquette. Most, if not all, of these bookmarking sites prohibit any marketing activities. But you can get under the radar if you give first, become a helpful part of the Web 2.0 community, and bookmark a lot more non-self-serving sites than self-serving ones.

These are the 5 simple steps to make money blogging. Hope you find them useful and may you earn a lot of money with your blog.

6 Tips to staying a float as a freelancer in this economy

November 2, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

By Nicholas Nelson of Nicholas Nelson Studios

Freelancing or starting off on your own is a big step and can be hard to do. From letting go of that guaranteed “cha ching” every month to wearing 10 hats and being responsible for making it all happen. It’s not all bad. The rewards are exhilarating, fulfilling and gratifying to mention a few.

In today’s economic condition some of you may be experiencing some challenges. Has the roller coaster reached its peak and dropping fast? Are you hearing the sounds of crickets when you check your inbox or voicemail? Don’t worry, it’s only a phase and with dedication and hard work you will get past this…

Until then, here are a few tips to help you reach your goals.

Take advantage of social marketing. It is FREE! Yes, FREE! So dive in and get your hands dirty. Facebook is becoming a very popular internet destination of many. Business and entrepreneurs alike are jumping on this band wagon.

Here are a few Facebook tips:

Create a fan page and post all your current projects, older projects (only if you retained that portion of the rights), and related blabber about what you are up to as it relates to your freelancing/business. What you will do in time is create a following / fan base. Not as big as say Madonna, however this will turn into leads followed by potential work. Also invite potential along with current clients to become fans of your Facebook page as soon as possible. This helps builds your network both professionally and personally and gives you another insight on your clients that typically wouldn’t be open unless you were friends with them. Be careful if you decide to do this. Remember that your clients can see your posts. Always remain professional with your posts to the page you created that you invite your clients to. I have heard of people posting about their horrible clients doing ,which in-turn gets back to them and… well you get the rest…

Twitter is also a great way to show off your skills.

First thing, decide if you will keep you “tweets” professional or social. For example “Check out my latest project at X” or “I got so wasted last night and my buddies took these pics of me”. And stick to your guns. Keep the business separate from the party talk. If you decide to mix it up, be cautious. Also utilize www.photobucket.com for free image hosting. What you do is create an account, upload your latest project in jpg format, grab the url that it spits out and drop it in your “tweet or Facebook post” ,add a little description of your project followed by your generated url and blamo. Your entire network, and then some has just had a preview of your work. Then the Twitter / Facebook combo. Drop that same link from your photobucket url into Facebook and it will show a thumbnail of your image along with your wall post. This will visually attract views to click on your image and take a preview of your latest and greatest projects.

Lastly, tweet and Facebook about your blog entries to gain more viewers as soon as you publish your entries. Simply copy the url of your blog page and drop it into twitter and Facebook. (Twitter has a function that allows your “tweets” to automatically post to you Facebook page)

Side note; where ever you post your messages using social networking, always make your url easily to find by either designing a simple backsplash page for your twitter account or a link on your home page of Facebook. Drive that traffic back to your site as much as possible. Enough about social networking, I could go on and on…

Another thing that is almost a given which sometimes is over looked is to keep your current customers happy. That should go without saying, but make that special effort to make them feel comfortable and to continue to trust your services. Some of my BEST clients have come from referrals. And with referrals most of the leg-work is already done. They don’t need to be sold or convinced that you know what you’re doing. They have already heard this from the source, your happy client. This can be a huge door opener to expand into any number of markets all by thinking of the next step and doing what you do best.

Plant seeds. No, not in your garden, but in your business. Good things take time to blossom. Always be preparing for the future. What you do today will come back to you in a few months from now. You may meet someone on the bus one day or in a seminar and hand off your business card and two months later you get a call or e-mail from so and so saying I have a project for you. Never leave the house without business cards and always be thinking two steps ahead.

Create work. When things are slow, approach people whom you believe could benefit from your service. Example, you come across a website with sub-par branding and overall design. Do a little research on the company and find out the person in charge of the creative side of the business. Draft up a simple introduction letter stating what services you provide and examples of your work. Now comes the tricky part of telling the person that you feel they could benefit from working with you on the creative side of the business without offending them. After a few attempts, you will find your chops and a smooth way to approach your potential client. This works wonders when done correctly. Not only are you creating the work, you have no competition with other designers and you typically get a lot more creative input on the project because it was initiated by you.

Think so shall it be. It’s true. Don’t get down on yourself when things get slow. Keep the positive energy going in everything you touch and you will flourish. It will all come together in the end, just be patient and you will receive what you put in. Or as the Beatles so eloquently put it “The love you give is equal to the love you receive”.

Good luck out there…

SEO Company or SEO Freelancer a Race of Best

October 27, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

SEO is the cheapest and most productive way to generate leads for your business. Unfortunately most companies know very little about SEO and they tend to think that hiring a freelance web master and in house discussion sessions would give them the same results as a professional search engine optimization firm. But in each and every case such trials lead to loss of resources than any materialistic gains.
Why is it better to outsource?
Search Engines are continuously updating their algorithms. It is practically impossible to track their changes unless a dedicated professional team is reviewing search engine trends through study of a wide group of sites. Also the team needs to be adept to the latest internet marketing trends and take decisive actions with proper precaution. An SEO firm is more likely to be aware of such changes to search engine optimization algorithms than an in-house individual.
An individual will likely spend the majority of his or her time developing and implementing SEO strategies. Outsource SEO professionals must perform these same functions while constantly studying the varying trends, staying updated with changing trends and familiarizing themselves with the latest Search engine optimisation theories. This is a highly unpredictable industry and only that SEO Firm with R&D set-up can survive amidst the whimsical trends of the search engines competing against each other.
Hardcore SEO industry professionals are able to successfully predict the changes associated with SEO through continuous study. An SEO firm generally has a number of SEO consultants on his pay roll and each of them specialize in particular domains, be it link building, SEO Copy writing, web page optimizing etc. These consultants collectively team up to execute a successful search engine optimisation campaign.
Time is another concern with in-house SEO. Will one individual be able to optimize multiple pages, write content, tags, build links, run reports and perform other SEO tasks in a timely fashion? One person can only do so much. In the online business world, time is money. Most companies can do in a matter of days what might take an individual week to do. Many companies who use in-house SEO personnel spend more than necessary to get the same amount of work done in a longer amount of time.
What about cost? Surely the cost of hiring an individual freelancer is substantially lower than the cost of hiring an SEO company, However time concerns and professional expertise will make SEO outsourcing cheaper than having one guy do all. Kind of Jack Of all trades but master of none.
In any case, is SEO outsourcing the right move for your company?
Whether you choose to outsource to an SEO Company or hire a freelance SEO, here are a few things to keep in mind:
Do your research by performing a simple cost/benefit analysis on what SEO outsourcing versus hiring freelance SEO cost. In some cases, freelance SEO maybe a better option, especially when SEO is not that significant for you. rather you want a webmaster who can maintain your site as also do some SEO stuff.
Whether you hire a SEO company or a webmaster, you should try to acertain their knowledge. Also are they open to discussions and accept criticisms. It is better to do business with someone who shares ideas and insights than one who simply learns from others but is miserly to release his knowledge. Next generation techniques are only developed by innovative individuals who are employees of some companies. Exceptions do occur.
Make a reference check.
Contact references and try to know the results.
Believe me, SEO is more important for small companies compared to the bigger ones. This is for the simple reason that an offline marketing campaign involves manpower, paper, ink, travelling etc. Whereas on the search engines your only investment is manpower.
An offline campaign would take years to reach foreign shores unless you are a tycoon with huge spread. Contrary an online campaign can reach the whole world in a matter of some days and generate traffic to your site. In the first case you are reaching the customer but in the second case they are reaching you by your website reach powered by an SEO campaign run by SEO Company or SEO Freelancer that generated results.
Thus to conclude one should be more comfortable to outsource SEO to seasoned campaigners than freelance webmasters because the time that he eventually looses can not be paid off.

5 Top Blogging Tips for Freelancers

October 25, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you’re a freelancer who’s looking to get your business started, or a freelancer looking for more business, then blogging might just be for you.

Although blogging may not help you see business immediately, it can help you fill the gap in your income because while you’re promoting your business, you can also promote affiliate programs, as well as sell advertising. It’s also an easy way to make money with Google Adsense or some other contextual advertising. Just make sure your competitors aren’t showing up on your blog.

By offering other resources related to your your business, it gives you a more extensive product line, as well as more solutions you can offer your readers. You don’t want to be all things to all people; this will prevent you from targeting your market. However, you do want to offer as many solutions as possible for your readers so that you can better meet their specific needs.

Now, your first step in getting started blogging and earning extra money is that you want to select your blog platform. There are a wide variety of blog platforms available to you. When choosing your platform compare the features of the different blog platforms to see which suits your needs best.

Here are five tips for helping you get your message across, connect with your readers, and sell more of your services:

1. Check your presentation. Presentation is as much about how your blog looks as what it says. You want to make your blog as easy to read as possible. Although one background might look pretty cool, remember that you’re basically offering a business blog. Black type on a white background is easiest to read. This doesn’t mean that you can’t make your overall background something else. Just make the format easy to read.

2. Pay attention to your navigation. Make it clear, and make it consistent throughout your blog. You also want to make it easier for your readers to find what they’re looking for. Although it may seem boring to have the same menu throughout, it is easier for your readers to find what they want.

3. Check your links. This is related to the last tip, except that it deals with content. When adding links to your menu, make sure that the links you add are complementary, especially if you are linking to other blogs.

4. Create interesting content. The choices you have in creating content are almost limitless. As a freelancer, you should be an expert on your topic but honest enough to admit you don’t know everything. Include videos you’ve found, interesting news stories related to your industry, comment on other blogs, as well as writing your own articles and blog posts.

5. Proofread your entries. Let’s face it. We all make mistakes. You won’t get every post right every time. If you’re a freelancer though, especially a writer, you won’t establish much credibility if you can’t even handle the basics, like spelling and grammar.

Blogs are a great way for freelancers to get more business. You can do that by considering your reader. Make yourself different and offer your readers a reason to come back. You won’t have any trouble finding new customers.
