Is Optimizing Your Website for Bing will benefit you in future?

Is Optimizing Your Website for Bing will benefit you in future?

As many a blog entry will go over, there’s been a good amount of buzzing around the launch of Microsoft’s new Bing search engine. Moreover, there’s been a well-brought-up quantity of rumor on what the growing popularity of Bing — along with their recent agreement with Yahoo — will mean in regards to Search Engine Optimization.

There is lot of rumor in internet that Bing is stealing market share from Google. Question keep on buzzing in our mind

1. What if Bing, after the initial buzz around their launch upland, begins to steadily challenge Google’s long standing dominance both in market share and SEO focus?

2. What can I do now to start making sure my site is well optimized for Bing so that I’m not playing catch up a year from now when all of my competitors are ranking well within both Google and Bing?

In response to the first question, what seems to be the common theme in most responses to this by industry experts is that Google for a long time now hasn’t had a realistic challenger to its search dominance, allowing them to focus on side projects such as the recently announced Chrome OS, upcoming Google Wave, and Cloud applications such as Google Documents.

What you’ll most likely see as Bing becomes a stronger competitor in the realm of Search, is that Google will begin — as it has already with the May launch of their “Show Options” feature — to release features to better compete with some of Bing’s advertised advantages over Google.

While many of these changes will be designed to enhance and better organize results, many believe the recent competition imposing by Bing will benefit visitors looking for relevant results, as well as sites looking to have them found for relevant queries.

In response to the second question, the answer is to continue to focus on the same SEO best practices you’ve been focusing on.  The type of SEO work and tasks webmasters need to perform to be successful in Bing haven’t changed — all of the skills and knowledge that webmasters have invested in previously applies fully today with Bing. Moreover, investments in solid, reputable SEO work made for Bing will bring similar improvements in your website’s page rank in Google and Yahoo! as well.

SEO task you should do for Bing optimization for your website.

* Unique, keyword-oriented Titles and Meta Descriptions for ever page of your site

* Keyword-oriented, clean and well-structured URLs

* Singular themes per page with keyword-oriented content in reference to your page’s theme

* Submission of a well structured and relevant XML sitemap to Bing’s Webmaster Center

* Submission of your site to Bing using Bing’s Ping service

There still certain factors while starting SEO service for Bing search engine such as the quality of your inbound links, along with other standard SEO best practices play significant roles.

While the same SEO best practices will assist your site’s ranking within Bing, some of these items — according to initial studies — seem to play a greater role with Bing than they do with Google.  Meta Descriptions is one example. Currently, Bing places more importance on the quality of your Meta Descriptions than Google does.

What this means for some sites is that focusing on these same SEO practices, with a tighter focus on the quality of your Meta Descriptions and quality, unique content can help even sites reliant on longer-tail searches be more visible, due to different user behavior on Bing.  This is true as well with a more local-focus being presented by Bing. It is reported that Bing is weighting local results in a more aggressive manner than Google.

Of course, with Bing being relatively new, things could change as the competition with Google heats up. The advent of new features and options — some of which will focus on micro formats, RDF and other advanced SEO practices — is sure to keep this space dynamic as well.

General knowledge of SEO

November 16, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

As an Internet marketing strategy, SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. Optimizing a website primarily involves editing its content and HTML coding to both increase its relevance to specific keywords and to remove barriers to the indexing activities of search engines.

Before you begin serious SEO you must ensure that your website is “search engine

friendly”. This means making sure that each individual page is compliant with search engine standards and ready to be indexed correctly. Follow each of the steps below for

each page on your site.

While this document will not guarantee top placement for you in any search engines, it will increase your chances to be included in the relevant results. Consider the information below to be subjective advice, and advice only, which have been assembled based on both experience and research. Please note that all search engine technologies are constantly evolving, rendering only month-old tricks to deceive their methods useless. The only way to keep your website at a proper place of search results is – as general it sounds – providing content that people are both interested in and are looking for.

In general, search engines have been designed by people who are skilled at gathering, storing and analyzing data, programmers, mathematicians and other talented people with innovative ideas. However in the age when nearly anyone in the free world can access the internet, the ratio of people used to handling raw information have rapidly decreased. In other words, most people do not think about information the way search engine designers would.

Search engine optimization ( SEO ) is the bridge over the gap, it is to bring people with average computer skills, and the information they look for together. It overlaps the sometimes still too mathematics-based search engine technology, and takes you a step closer to your target audience. SEO should be about examining how people are looking up information on the web, and not how you may trick them into visiting your website.

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results. The acronym “SEO” can also refer to “search engine optimizers,” a term adopted by an industry of consultants who carry out optimization projects on behalf of clients, and by employees who perform SEO services in-house.

Before you begin serious SEO you must ensure that your website is “search engine friendly”. This means making sure that each individual page is compliant with search engine standards and ready to be indexed correctly. Follow each of the steps below for each page on your site.

Big Tips to Get People Retweeting

Big Tips to Get People Retweeting

Today, I’d like to introduce you to our guest author, Harris Fellman. Harris recently launched CoupDeTwitter – a course on how to properly get started with twitter, get lots of followers, and turn those followers into cash.

He is by no means a Social Media Purist, but still he teaches what he considers the “right way” to interact on Twitter & other Social Media platforms (hint: it ain’t by spamming people your offers). Harris has a number of years of success in the internet marketing realm and I feel very honored to have him as a guest author today.

With that … here’s Harris’ blog post entitled “Big Tips to Get People Retweeting”:

I’m about to show you how to really SUPERCHARGE your Twitter efforts by getting people to click on things that you send out, and more importantly how to get your followers to actually ReTweet your messages. When they do this, it gets your Twitter ID in front of their followers; their followers will very often come check YOU out & consider following you as well.

(And for all you Search Engine Optimization experts out there, your head should be spinning at how awesome it is to get people sending out LINKS to your Twitter pages. But I’ll leave that conversation to the experts of that field.)

In my last post I talked about building a relationship with your followers and gave you an easy to follow daily process of things that you can to do to help you start connecting to people in the right way. I also mentioned jumping into conversations where you feel you might have relevant or interesting things to contribute.

That’s all well and good, and it works, but there are some things that you can put into place that will literally put your Tweeting and newfound relationships with your followers into hyperdrive.

One of the keys to the success of this approach is not just getting people to talk TO you, you want them to talk about you as well, and that’s where Retweeting comes in. The funnier, more interesting, & more emotional your tweets are; the better chance that they’ll be ReTweeted. But don’t think that just because you’re witty and handy with a good line or two that it will entice people to retweet what you’re writing.

There are some proven tactics that will get people spreading your Tweets all over the Twitterverse and I’m about to share a couple of them with you right now. Not only that, once you engage your followers and start giving back, they’ll click your links AND retweet them as well! (I love it when I see people ReTweeting links of mine that actually have *affiliate URLs* in them – but that’s a topic for my Coup de Twitter System .)

Okay, so how do I get people to start retweeting me?

Once again, this is not nearly as hard as you might think. One of the most popular and MOST retweeted segments that you can put out there are: Famous Quotes. It’s true. People simply love to retweet good quotations. It might seem silly but there’s actually a ton of value in doing this. It’s a great use of Twitter to instantly get a motivational thought coming through the timeline and it turns out that people just love to ReTweet them back out.

There are a bunch of places you can go to find great quotes.

My wife bought be a book called “The Most Brilliant Thoughts of All Time” which has 100’s of quotes in them. Every once in a while, I pop open the book & look for a quotation or two that I like. But even easier for you would be to find a website that has quotes that you can cut and paste right in. Instead of me telling you my favorite quotations websites; just go ahead and type “motivational quotes”, “success quotes”, “sports quotations”, or whatever tickles your fancy into your favorite Google .. er, I mean, your favorite search engine and you’ll find more than what you’re looking for.

Once you get into the groove with this, I recommend even using a service like SocialOOMPH to automatically send quotes out from your Twitter account for days and months to come. I love me some Social OOMPH & this is a great use for that service.

Once you find a quotations site that you like, you’ll find literally hundreds if not thousands of quotes. Some of them are obviously too many characters to fit in a single Tweet, but there are many to choose from that fit right in. Oh, and one rule of thumb especially with things that you’re wanting to get retweeted… even though you have 140 characters to work with, keep your quotation tweets down to around 120 which gives people room to retweet them and not have to modify them at all since they’ll be putting “RT @yournamehere” in front of each Tweet when they re-send it out (which is, of course, the entire point of this little exercise).

A little something else regarding quotations that I love to do is to pick a person that is currently in the news. Recently we had a rash of celebrities passing away – I went out and Googled quotations from those very people & helped to honor them with good positive quotes from them. Great stuff. People seemed to really appreciate (and retweet) those quotes.

That’s enough about quotations, I’ve got one more big tip for you…

Alright, now another thing you’re going to want to tweet of real value is pertinent, up to date and breaking information about your particular interest or niche. How do you keep right on the cutting edge of things related to your business or niche? If you didn’t already know about this, you’re gonna freakin’ love me for telling you about it.

Google has a service called alerts.google.com

When you sign up at Google Alerts, you can have the god of the internet, Google, send you all kinds of information right into your e-mail that keep you completely up to date on just about any topic you can imagine. You should put in pretty narrow keyword terms so you don’t get too much crap to sift through. But even if you do, you can always adjust it later. Just get out there and get started.

You’ll have blog posts, news items, and web pages sent directly to your inbox. Scan through it looking for what you feel is the best articles and then viola — use that content in your tweets! Sending out this sort of information will train your followers that you’re a giver of good information; and, more importantly, it will train them to click on stuff that you send out. Many will even ReTweet these posts, thus telling their followers that YOU are a good source of up-to-the-minute information as well.

Putting your Twitter marketing efforts on hyperdrive, my friend, that’s what CoupDeTwitter is all about.

Try these tips for yourself! You’ll be shocked at how well this really works. And when you do, please let me know through my Twitter account twitter.com/harrisfellman @harrisfellman. I’ve got tons more to share with you when you decide to become a member of the growing “Twinja Army” – people just like you who are “taking over” Twitter with my incredible Coup De Twitter system. I hope to see you in my private forums soon!

November 1, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you are looking for SEO tips to influence your sites visibility for searches, then you may find some valuable tips here. Search engine optimization as it is, is a huge topic to cover but there are certain tips and tricks involved with it that will help you improve your website s search engine listings. If you implement these tips on your website you will definitely find obvious changes in your websites listings. Please go through the five SEO tips stated below and try to implement them to your site and watch the result.

1. Go by convention.

You may have a flashy web page or a very dynamic and impressive web page but make sure the basic layout of the webpage remain conventional. This means stick the basics of providing links to home page, about us, contact us and site-map. Search engines will be looking for easily navigable sites as it makes it easy for its users to get what they are looking for. So forgoing the usage of these basic buttons on your site may not please search engines. This also gives more reliability for the search engines to trust your websites from spamming sites.

2. Choose search friendly domains.

While looking for domain names make sure that it relates to the niche in which your website is going to be operational. Of course you can have domain names unrelated to your niche but using related domain names can get you good listings faster. This helps search engines to easily relate with your niche and content.

3. Research keywords with high search results but low competition.

The lesser competition you have the better listing you can expect. But it is not easy to find such keywords if your niche is highly competitive. In such cases you may go for long tail keywords to beat competition. This will also get you more targeted visitors. For this you will have to do some serious bit of research to find those keywords. To know the strength of the keyword competition search on the search engine using your keywords within quotations. This will give you a fair idea on where you stand with the keyword you have researched.

4. Make sure you optimize your website well for your chosen keywords.

For this you have to follow these simple tips. Use the keywords in the title tag, the number of keywords you may use for a webpage title tag is not certain. The basic norm, some experts say is 2 keywords per web page but I have found results for as many as 4 keyword phrases. You may try with more keywords you have nothing to loose. Use these keywords in your H1, H2, H3 tags it has better influence with the search engines. And also use keywords in your websites content. With just these distributions of keywords I have got front page listing overnight. This may bring you to the front page but to keep them there you have to work on it.

5. Work on your site to get top listing by providing incoming links.

Provide incoming links to your web page using anchor text links. Try to get more links than your best competitor and also make sure they are quality links.

Great SEO Tips That Work

November 1, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

When it comes to Search Engine Optimization also known as SEO almost all website technicians have heard of it and wish that they could do it as well. Well guess what, SEO is possible to do to your website, you just have to keep in mind that SEO isn’t all the website is made up of. You will also have to keep up with the website in general and not focus too much on the SEO where the web page gets outdated.

First you have to focus on the keywords. A keyword is the word that you will be using a lot in the Web page text. In 250 word texts on your web page use the keyword about 5-15%, You may think that there is no such thing as using a keyword in your web page text too many times, but the truth is that you can. Using the keyword in your web page text too many time can create the negative effect from what you are wanting. You may discourage people away from your web page and they may not be able to find it if you use that keyword too many times.

When it comes to great SEO tips that work something else to concentrate on is maybe to find someone who will compose the SEO text for your website for you, you could pay a friend or family member a little bit of extra money to write the SEO text for you, make sure you tell them exactly what you want and what you are looking for and if the first time they mess up, or perhaps even the second time isn’t quit what you want, don’t discourage them away from it because at least you have the base of some type of SEO script to go by. Nothing will be the way you want it unless you do it, so of course there will be a bit of editing to do to an SEO if you have someone else do it.
