How To Advertise On The Internet

December 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Advertising is a branch of marketing that is tasked at inducing the public to buy, use or patronize the product or service being provided by the company. It is a call to action in the form of an announcement either visual or text that is usually placed where the potential customers or users of the products or services are located.
There are different types of advertising, you may use one or all of them. Depending on the need of your entity, you may spend depending on the return you expect from advertising.
You will likewise need to test your advertisements to ensure that you are only using the advertising medium that will be beneficial to your product or service.
The different types of advertising
Paid Advertisements
Print Advertisement, usually in broadsheets, magazines and newsletters.
Radio Advertisements
Television advertisements
Billboard advertising
Less costly advertisements
Word of mouth advertising, existing clients or customers who are happy with your product or service usually invite their friends to try the product. This is the cheapest form of advertising. It is one of the most effective forms of advertising and is very profitable.
Online advertisements, usually advertising in the internet is cheaper as compared with traditional advertisements. The cost is usually only time and internet connection. Of course, this is if you only advertise through text or articles that will induce customers to buy your products.
Some larger products manufacturers on the internet endeavor to use affiliates to promote their products or services. In this case, you will need to pay them commissions. This is manageable because you can enter many forms of affiliate programs either pay-per-click, or pay-per-sale.
While you will need to advertise your products or services, there are other more effective promotional campaigns you can do to ensure that customers will come craving for your products.
Advertising is only one part of the marketing pie, do not think that because you are spending hugely on advertisement, you can seatback and wait for the buyers to come in. This is not going to happen. The competition is very stiff; you have to offer the public something perceived to be greater than the value they will need to pay for your products or services. This is the most effective marketing strategy you can ever endeavor to take.
Advertising is effective if done correctly, because there are many different methods of advertising your products or service, you may need to test all of them. When you find the most effective advertisement for your product, you may drop the others but be sure to be active on the internet because advertising on the internet will provide you with unlimited geographical presence.

Webwindows Guide To Channelizing Your Advertising Spend

December 14, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

According to Webwindows, a leading media agency in the UK, an ideal advertising strategy should combine the best of offline and online media to derive maximum returns. Both mediums can not function in isolation and Webwindows rightly suggests that small and medium sized businesses should not target just one medium but harness the power of both for better e-commerce results.Given the fact that online sales are on the rise thanks to the comfort level and the easy convenience to shop any time of the day and night, online companies should spread out their advertising spend across the online media and print media to drive traffic to their websites. Webwindows feels that though small and medium sized online retailers can opt for PPC campaigns to increase traffic to their websites they should also take into consideration the other option of placing classified advertisements in the newspapers and magazines that have a wide circulation. For example, online companies can place their classified advertisements on the Webwindows page that appears in the weekend supplement of seven leading newspapers in the UK. The Webwindows page is browsed by a dedicated group of consumers who are actually looking for bargains or products and services to purchase online. So online companies simply need to place a well drafted classified advertisement in the Webwindows page, clearly mentioning the URL of their websites so that the consumers can log on to the website and make their purchases. Here it is also important to point out why online retailers should advertise on dedicated pages such as the Webwindows page that appears in the leading newspapers in the UK. The Webwindows page, over the last ten years, has built up a formidable reputation and readers know that this is where they can find advertisements for the best online bargains. Also the Webwindows page appears on weekends when people have enough time to browse through the advertisements at their own leisure. Now suppose instead of advertising in the print media such as the Webwindows page, online companies focus their advertising spend on purchasing advertising slots on radio and TV. The disadvantage in this case is that their target consumers may not have their TV or radio on when the advertisement is being aired. Based on experience, Webwindows recommends that it makes more sense for small and medium-sized businesses to advertise in the newspapers and magazines because not only is it cheaper but it gives the time factor advantage to the consumers in that they can browse through the newspapers any time they want. According to Webwindows, there are online companies who prefer to focus their advertising spend on PPC campaigns and other online strategies. The disadvantage, according to Webwindows, is that online companies would have to pay even for those clicks that do not convert into sales. So when companies do a comparative cost and sales analysis of online and offline media advertising, they may find that offline advertising scores over online advertising. This is not to say that online advertising does not work at all. Webwindows suggests that online companies should do a careful analysis of both the mediums and then decide on channelizing their advertising spend.

The Truth Behind Chris Cobb’s CPA Arbitrage

December 7, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

So as you may have seen, there’s been a lot of hype about CPA Arbitrage lately.

CPA Arbitrage, by Chris Cobb, is an e-book/course that claims it contains the best and easiest ways to make money online. I checked it out myself and I’m here to tell you the truth about it.

Here’s what I’m going to cover in this review:

Claims made about CPA Arbitrage:

That all depends on where you’re at with internet marketing. This course is not for the beginner… It assumes you have a basic knowledge of PPC and Google Adwords, and can perform basic market research.

If you’re one of those people that can’t do anything for themselves though, nothing you buy will help you so this is a great place to start with learning to find markets and keywords.

Everything you need to help you along the way is included though. Chris definitely doesn’t hold anything back in regards to resources. He lists about 4 to 5 resources to help you for each step of his process, from keyword research to market research to campaign testing. Most of them are free too, and he recommends additional resources you can check out to ’scale up’ campaigns.

The proof and testimonials

There are quite a few testimonials on the sales page, but none of them had contact information or email addresses, so I wasn’t able to contact any of them.

Now it’s time for the Pros and Cons…

I’ve been pretty skeptical of this product so far in this review, but there are certainly a lot of Pros. I’ll list both the Pros and the Cons though so you see everything CPA Arbitrage has to offer.

Pros

Chris is awesome with researching markets and keywords, which is information anyone can always use. Apart fron that, CPA Arbitrage helped me understand the value of CPA advertising, and I’m now implementing the methods in this course myself.

Also, I really don’t think you stand half as good a chance getting into CPA networks without Chris’s little “cheat sheet” to use when you have to talk to the representatives of the networks. And don’t be intimidated by this, it’s not hard to do at all, and Chris tells you everything you need to say.

The verdict…

I’ve decided that there’s nothing really groundbreaking or new in CPA Arbitrage, but the information in it was definitely solid. There are, however, a couple of commonly overlooked tricks that can lead to huge profits. Chris walks you through everything step-by-step and doesn’t make the leaps other PPC/CPA products tend to do.

As I’ve said before, you need to have a bit of knowledge of AdWords and PPC marketing, as in you just need to know how to set up an AdWords campaign. You may also need to know how to edit Web pages, but you can either get around this with methods in the e-book or use fee editors like NVu. Chris takes it from there and helps you with everything else. If you follow the instructions, I have no doubt you’ll make money with CPA Arbitrage.
