Promoting Affiliate Products…The Critical Ingredient For Success!

November 18, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

One of the fastest, easiest ways to get started with an online business is to promote affiliate products. This way, you eliminate the time-consuming task of having to develop your own product. Promoting digital e-books through Clickbank is an easy way to go. You can simply pick one of the 12,000 plus e-books listed, run some pay-per-click ads, or write an article or two, and wait for the checks to roll in. And there’s nothing wrong with this model, if you want to make a few extra bucks on the side.

But as you become more experienced, you will quickly learn, as I did, that the customers you send to these affiliate links are now long gone, and they are no longer YOUR customers. They are now your affiliate program’s customers. So, while you may have made a few bucks in commissions, you were really working for free to build a nice list for your affiliate program. They now have those customers for life and can continue to promote new products to them.

Now, think about it. What if 1,000 people read your ad and clicked onto your affiliate website? Well, you may have made a few sales, but what happened to the 1000 people who clicked on your ad in the first place? Someone else has those names, and you gave them away for free! This is a big mistake and one that is easy rectifiable.

I’ll bet you’ve heard the phrase, “The money is in the list.”

I know I ignored this important bit of wisdom for a long time. I knew that the right way to promote affiliate products was to have customers go to your website first and then on to the affiliate sales page. This way YOU could capture their email address and they could become your customers. But if you’re not a techie, the thought of building a website, getting an autoresponder to capture email addresses, and following up with emails might send shivers down your spine. The thought of it all made me dizzy.

So I tried a few different things. At first, I bought a CBMall,
www.clickbank-success.com and signed up as an affiliate. This is a wonderful concept. You simply run ads or write articles to promote this Clickbank Mall and when someone visits the mall, all nicely sorted by topics and buys a product from Clickbank, you get a commission. You as the mall owner, are allowed to purchase any Clickbank product at the affiliate discount, which is a wonderful benefit. I save tons of money because I buy LOTS of e-books. Another great benefit is that once a customer makes that click, the CBMall sends a free newsletter and does the follow-up for many months. The only downside is that you don’t capture the email addresses and you don’t build a list.

So then I also joined a plug-in Clickbank affiliate website, which means that you can build a basic website without techie knowledge. You simply point and click to the Clickbank products that you want to offer and they magically appear on the screen, image and all. You write a little copy and presto, you’re done. Now you have your own website. What you don’t have is an autoresponder. You can purchase one yourself and add it to the website, but this is where it gets a little tricky. You have to know how to use a Cpanel, which is very complicated if you don’t have the training and you also need to have some knowledge of HTML. If you visit www.home-biz-advisor.com, you’ll notice that I didn’t get that far. If this isn’t a problem for you, then this company has some good benefits.

Finally, I discovered a new idea created by a pure genius!

It works like a plug-in-website in the sense that you simply point and click to instantly create a website designed to promote any affiliate products that you choose. You simply enter your affiliate codes. However, the features are incredible. You just point and click to set up a free autoresponder and a sign- up page to capture email addresses. You choose a domain name, write some sales copy and that’s it. You can easily add audio if you’d like, by calling a phone number and taping your message. Ad tracking is included and is very clearly set up, so you can see where your clicks come from. The instruction manual is well written and everything is clearly spelled out, step-by-step. Anyone can follow the process.

The benefits…well, finally YOU can have your own mailing list and you need no technology knowledge, whatsoever! It took a total of about 45 minutes to get my website online, from start to finish. Take a look at it at http://instant-web-builder.smmsite.com.

So if you’d like to promote affiliate products, remember that the secret to making big money is in the list. Check out the myriad of opportunities, and see what works best for you. Then GO FOR IT!

Seven Common SEO Mistakes

November 17, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. Most of your quality traffic comes from search engines, therefore when building a website it is important to know the hints, tips and tricks that will give you better placement in the search engines. Mistakes can actually hurt your site in the search engines without you even realizing it. I have come across a number of websites in which beginners not yet familiar with search engine optimization make the same common mistakes.
Are you making these seven common mistakes too?
1. Irrelevant keywords: Many webmasters use irrelevant Keywords. Be sure to choose the right keywords that relate to your company. Be specific. Think about the words that web surfers will be typing to find your website. Inventory overture keyword selector Tool is one of the best-known services for helping you choose the right keywords. Use Inventory overture keyword selector Tool to find what people are actually typing in to the search engines.
2. No back links: Back links are extremely important to your website’s rankings, therefore this should be one of your main priorities. The easiest way to get back links is to ask for them. Visit sites related to your website and request a link exchange.
3. Bad web design: Design mistakes can hurt your website. A mistake that I found many new webmasters making is they are not building their website to ensure that it appears correctly at different screen resolutions. Your website will be the first impression and remember that first impressions are everything. Can you afford to loose visitors because your website isn’t viewing correctly on their monitor? I for one use a screen resolution of 800 x 600. If you design your site to be viewable only by a screen resolution of 1024 x 768, I have an annoying horizontal scroll bar at the bottom of the page and I have to scroll horizontally, just to see the entire content of your page. That right there is a turn off. There are many other web design mistakes, but we’ll cover that in another article.
4. Overuse of images and flash animations/ having too many graphics on your page: While graphics and flash may be pleasing to the eyes, too many graphics won’t help you get a better ranking. In fact Google and other search engines cannot read the content of an image. Flash only pages have no text; therefore there is nothing for the search engines to read.
5. Not utilizing your Title Tag: Title Tags are really important for search engines. A common mistake that I see many new webmasters making is that they leave the title tag empty or use irrelevant words.
Your title tag is the first thing a search engine’s spider sees on your page. You shouldn’t put only your company name in the title tag, but ad keywords about your company. Use Inventory overture keyword selector Tool to find related keywords.
6. No alt attribute in tags: As I stated above, search engines cannot spider images. Therefore the alt image tag helps the search engines understand the subject of the image. Be sure to include the alt attribute with every image.
7. Bad anchor ext: Whatever you do, don’t use “click here” or other non-descriptive link text. I’m guilty of this one myself. Proper anchor text can help your ranking. Your anchor text should describe the page that you’re linking to. For example if you’re linking to this article, your anchor text might read, “Seven Common SEO Mistakes by Rose DesRochers” instead of “Click Here to read this article.” Anchor text is extremely important to your ranking.
These are just a few of the most common mistakes that you should avoid making. These SEO mistakes may be the main reason why your site is failing to rank well in the search engines.
Be sure to optimize your website for both search engines and people. Search engine optimization is hard work and an ongoing process. Invest a little time and learn the proper techniques and not only will your traffic come, but you’ll increase your page rank.

How to Set Up a Powerful Small Business Website on a Low Budget

November 17, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

In this short article I’m going to reveal a quick method for getting a simple, yet powerful website online for your small business. If you don’t already have a website for your small business you’ve missed a trick. You see they can be one of the most effective marketing weapons at your disposal — if used correctly.
Before you set up your website there are number of steps or stages, that you must go through before you start developing your site. These are basic things such as market research, choosing a domain, name, selecting a website hosting provider, deciding on your business model, and planning a marketing strategy.
If you already run a small business you should already know your market. But conducting online research to further analyse behaviour and spending patterns will further help you develop a website which is optimised for your target market.
The next key stage is looking at how your website is going to fit into your overall business model, too many small businesses stick up websites without really thinking how it’s going to fit into the overall equation.
How can you combine your website into your marketing mix? How are you going to get people to your website? Do you know best practices for online marketing results?
My favourite analogy for business owners who don’t quite get online marketing is this:”Building a website is like building a shop out in The Sahara Desert. Nobody is going to know it’s there (apart from you) unless you build roads to it, get the word out — actively promote the thing. It’s not like having a shop on the high street, people won’t just appear and walk in.”
So you need to have a marketing strategy in mind before you get started.
Next up – choose a domain name, what are you going to call your website? Ian’s Plumbing Supplies.com? You should brainstorm some ideas and then see what’s available. Hosting; you need to have a hosting provider to host your website, I use a few different providers which I’m happy with.Powerful Options For Building Your Business Website
One of the most powerful options you have for building your small business website is a free piece of software called Wordpress. If you use a hosting provider with cPanel and/or Fantastico you can install it with one click.
It’s a great bit of kit and is highly functional and versatile, and you can modify it easily to build yourself a unique website. I use it for many of my websites, and also for my clients, as it’s so simple to use, it allows them to add their own content after installation and customisation.
If you want to try your hand with some coding you can use free websites editors such as Kompozer, Frontpage, and NVU. Each have there own benefits and drawbacks, but allow you to get something online quickly. If you have limited web design skills you can download free templates from oswd.org which you can then modify for you own purposes.
Whenever you are doing anything online, always question what you are doing. Is it best practice, can you save money to improve cash flow, what’s the purpose of the website, is it designed to generate more leads, prospects and sales?

••••••>Organic / Natural Search: Relevance and SEO Ranking

November 15, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

SEO rankings from natural search offer tremendous value to any website. Considering that nearly 70% of traffic to most sites are a result of search engines or contingent on the visitor stemming from a site they found in a search engine to reach your page.

Acquiring natural search rankings are a cost-effective means to reach a broader audience to sell products, services or information online. By understanding the premise of SEO and how to apply fundamental aspects of website optimization, you can dial in search results over time through content, relevance and the strength of your pages continuity by sending the appropriate signals to search engines.

With millions of new websites being added to the web daily, the sheer number of aggregate pages on any topic is expanding exponentially. So, how does Google or other search engines deal with this influx of information while still maintaining relevance and order in some sense of the word?, they limit the indexing of each keyword or shingle to 1000 search results.

What this means is, despite the number of pages for any given search, you are dealing with a set number of websites that all have some affinity with the topic, keyword or reputation of the search term you are competing for.

Natural SEO is not always about trying to fix a site to rank for specific keywords, it’s more about building a website with intention to devour a particular niche. It takes time to create content, time to develop internal and external links, time for search engines to assess, index and grade each page algorithmically as well as in context to the entire site, the sites linking to you and the impact and reach your website has on the web.

Time is the greatest commodity for natural search and SEO rankings are contingent on the volume of information for any given shingle (keyword, key phrase or group of related words). What this means is, the site with the highest relevance for any given keyword or key phrase (based on proximity, domain authority, link weight, relevance and hundreds of other metrics) is dynamically buoyant and rises to the top of SEO rankings easily.

The thing to consider is (1) are you targeting the right types of keywords (2) do you have enough supporting information on the topic within your website (3) is your website groomed to overcome the other 1000 search results for any given related query or nebulous and sparse when it comes to topical relevance?

For example, if you are on page 7 for a keyword, then you have some relevance for those keywords, but not enough link weight to push it past the other 60+ pages in front of you. However, by going back to look for relevant places from within your own site to link to your champion/landing page, making adjusting titles or tags and creating additional content on the topic you can shift this ranking factor without even venturing outside of your own site.

Most organic rankings are not hindered from off page factors/links (at least not as much as you would like to think) it really boils down to honing the on page factors under your control first in order to be considered a candidate for relevance by the search engines.

Relevance means quality content, coherent internal links and then quite naturally a proper amount of deep links to each page produces a synergy that produces the elevation in natural search results.

Organic Traffic: How To SEO Your Site For Free Traffic

November 9, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Optimizing your site for free traffic is crucial when building a website. Having an optimized site will not only save you a lot of money in advertising, but will always be working for you.
In order to have the success you surely would like for your website to have, this is one tool that will deliver that directed search engine traffic that you want. Organic search engine hits are the best and, if you can receive all organic hits, then your site is going to be very valuable. This is particularly true if you were to consider selling your website sometime down the road. Here are a few tips to get you started.
1. The first way to start optimizing your site for organic SEO traffic is to do link exchanges. You will want to find other sites whose content is of the same or similar theme as yours. Then, you can request that they place your link on their page in exchange for you doing the same for them. Obviously, the more of this you do, the more benefits you will see, so you can employ this tactic as much or as little as you like. Websites like linkmetro and what not is one example of such a site that allows for such link-sharing relationships.
2. The second technique you want to employ is setting up links with sites that are highly ranked and are related to your content. This tactic is closely related to the first, but allows you to expand upon simply exchanging links and optimize such link exchanges. You can also keyword optimize your anchor test for your link so that you have keyword optimization working for your in addition to effective link sharing. This technique is so important for organic SEO traffic because this is what search engines look for when they are determining the level of quality and worthiness your site has.
3. The third tactic to employ involves the optimizing of anchor text. First, while you are writing your anchor text, it is very important to have a few different variations. Use different keywords so that you can receive traffic from a variety of different keywords and keyword phrases individuals you want to market to may be using. Using different keywords helps prevent the distribution of duplicate content, something you always want to avoid.
Finally, keeping the content of your website fresh is very important to climbing the ranks of search engines. Setting up a content creation program that will allow you to add new keyword optimized content pages to your website will keep your site new and constantly refreshing. The more you introduce fresh content to your site, the more often the search engine spiders will have made their way to review and re-rank your site. The more that happens, the more your site moves up the ranks, delivering all the more organic SEO traffic that is the power behind the most powerful sites of today. So, now that we have that taken care of, go and turn your site into all that you dream of.

The Super Affiliate Handbook Reviewed

November 7, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

I am very skeptical of anyone who claims to make $436,797 in one year on the internet through affiliate programs. Whether it is through Clickbank, Commission Junction (CJ), Google AdSense or any other affiliate program my experience is that most of the people who make such outrageous claims are just running another scam.

So I am very surprised to tell you that I am extremely impressed with Rosalind Gardner’s, ‘Super Affiliate Handbook’.

Hers is not a get rich quick scheme. It is about building a business that is sustainable, based on good business practice rather than resorting to tactics that might work initially but have no long term growth and leave one feeling like a criminal.

Rosalind’s internet business model is all about building a website in an area where you already have interest, evaluating the business potential of your interests and then monetising your website… doing something you already love.

The information in the book is solid. There is no wishy-washy internet marketing talk to get you to buy even more products.

When you read through the book you know that she’s tried all the methods in the book and that they have actually worked for her. She explains the principles in the book by using examples in her own successful websites. The tone of the e-book and language used is accessible to anyone who can… read really.

Rosalind Gardner’s success as a Super Affiliate is not such a shock when you understand the methods she uses. She’s made it extremely easy for anyone who wants to start making money on the internet. Anyone who is serious and committed will be able to learn from Rosalind.

The topics she covers in The Super Affiliate Handbook include;

  • How to Find a Profitable Niche
  • Planning and Building Your Site
  • Monetising Your Site
  • Ways to Market Your Site
  • Managing & Growing Your Site

Everything to get you started, point you in the right direction and commence with a solid online business.

My one criticism is that when she teaches you how to build your site with WordPress, she suggests setting the file permissions a bit low for my liking. I suggest that you get more information about file permissions from WordPress or your hosting company.

This is of course only one small criticism and for someone with no prior web development experience she has done extremely well in building her online business.

Submitting Articles Now Brings You Money

November 5, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

I started doing some kind of web business a while ago. So far, I have had several websites, with more or less success. I sincerely enjoyed making, creating websites, but the problem was that I had no ideas. The recipe of success on web is to have unique idea. I am unique guy. I like to be unique in every field; where everyone go, I don’t etc. I once started building a website, but soon afterwards, I discovered that a website of a such kind already exists (twitter.com).

Some time ago, I was at my cousin’s nearby. We were talking about usual family stuff and so. Suddenly, out of nowhere, an idea appeared; the light bulb finally showed above my head. MyArticleReview.com . Yes. I know I have article/essay writing talents, but I didn’t want to use my talents for a few cents per word! I wanted something more. Article directory? Nah. Thousands of them. However…an article directory where visitors would submit articles that would later be criticized by article writing experts, plus, the visitors would be able to earn money by placing their AdSense on the website! Woah! Wow wow wow! I stopped talking with my cousin and stared at one point on the wall. He was all like, WTF?! But it’s over. I pulled my cell phone out, got into “Notes” and wrote only “MyArticleReview.com”.

When I returned home, I started working on it. I think describing the very process of “building” this website would be boring, but, the result is that this site is online. Yes, it is unbelievable! The main idea is:

1) Register for free

2) Fill in your AdSense Pub-ID

3) Submit an article

4) Wait for 24 hours for it to get reviewed. In comment box, tips on how to improve your article(s) will be posted.

5) Voila! Your AdSense is displayed on the pages which contain your articles!

The website I was talking about above is http://www.MyArticleReview.com :: where your articles reach perfection.

Bob Mill is an article writer in true terms of it. It is his profession; he works for local IT magazine. He’s also a proud bearer of the Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English. He owns http://www.MyArticleReview.com , a place where your article are criticized by experts, and where you earn money from your articles

Advanced SEO Tips for Newbies

November 2, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

Such as yourself, I’ve constantly read various tips on how to gain popularity in various search engines and suffered a high degree of random experiment failures. As a result of everything that I have learned, I present this article in order for you to learn from my past mistakes. In this article, I will present 5 powerful tips that will change the way that you think about Search Engine Optimization.

Tip 1: Researching SEO

Before you start building a website, it is important that you understand the black and white of Search Engine Optimization. Reading one article will never be enough. Google and the other big search engines do not tell people how to create the perfect website. What most SEO professionals do is research the trend on how websites gain popularity in traffic. From there, they’ll write various articles and I recommend that you read as many as possible to help formulate a well rounded decision.

As a result, you will be able to generate a website geared with more knowledge to prepare you for success rather than random trial and error.

Tip 2: Planning

What does planning have to do with SEO you ask? This is probably the most important aspect in developing your website. Planning gives you the ability to create a website and to continusily generate content pages without worrying about reconstructive efforts that consume most of your time. Why keep changing designs and shifting content if the site is set up perfectly in the first place. People usually rush to build a site without any prior planning. It’s essential that you plan the following:

Resources

Budget

Site Theme

Realistic Time-lines

Final Purpose

To keep it short, planning will save you time, money, and will allow you to execute without stalling the progression of your site.

Tip 3: Site Theme

So now your armed with knowledge and have a realistic plan, but now you need to develop a site theme. Whatever your site is going to be related to, ensure that you keep it narrowed down to a specific topic. Also, expand your knowledge further than what other websites have the ability provide. Become a subject expert matter into what you are presenting. Focusing on keywords and themed content will give you the traffic that you want and need. Without this your site will be doomed to fail.

Tip 4: Type of Visitors

Type of visitors? This isn’t SEO related. Wrong, the type of visitors you received is important for SEO. How is that? It’s very easy to explain. If you impress your visitors to a specific site, your site can spread by word of mouth, through blogs, and through back links which is all very important in the SEO world. Impressed with certain sites, I would even advertise certain sites. For example, positive comments made to me by many about a hosting company resulted in me switching to DreamHost. Because of that, I link Dreamhost on my other sites. By linking and spreading the word, Dreamhost is self advertised with many customers.

Creating bogus sites related to cars with fake information will lead to a high bounce rate. In having a themed site, your visitors should be more focused and will click your links, even the possibility of buying products that you offer. The type of visitors you receive should never be ignored. If you have 10 visitors looking for “red shoes” that actually go to a stored themed on red shoes, that will most likely result in 6-9 straight sales. If the site theme is about red shoes, but generate tons of useless content about “boots for cats”, you probably will get hundreads of visitors but will make no sales.

Tip 5: Optimization

Now that you armed with knowledge on what to do, the final stage is optimization. Just because you follow all these steps, it will not result in permanent traffic. The world of the Internet changes on a daily basis. Optimizing your site to trends of the Internet will help you succeed. For example, if text ads are more popular than image ads and you fail to adopt this trend, you may be losing revenue just because you failed to optomize the site. By optimizing your site, you may discover new traffic, more revenue, and receive more possible hits from search engines. This involves risk, but it is important for your website to grow.

Summary

You can now the create the perfect site (well as much as you can get it to near perfect). Be open, do you research, plan, and build your website accordingly. Do not give up and do not falter. The world of the Internet is always a large beast to tackle.

SEO Tips For Your Small Business Website

November 1, 2009 by IBI · Leave a Comment

If you run a small business and are in the process of establishing your online presence, you will want to keep several SEO related factors in mind. Search engine optimisation is an important part in the creation of any web content because it determines the ranking of the various pages on or related to your website. For you, the small business owner, this is especially important because you are not as large as the big corporations and probably don’t have the advertising budget that some of them do to throw in to promoting yourself both on and offline.

The best part of Internet advertising is the many free opportunities that are available to raise awareness and drive traffic to your site. Below are a few SEO tips that will help get you started.

Your website design is just as important as the business itself. If you have a physical location where products are sold or services are offered and are building a website to supplement your already existing business, your site should reflect the business you currently operate. If the business will be operated solely online, your site should represent who you are and what you offer in a way that keeps it all fresh and unique. Don’t be afraid to spend money on developing your site. If you aren’t able to build it yourself, consider finding someone who can. It will be an investment that was well worth the thought and time put into it, not to mention the money.

Site usability is another important consideration. While the site should look great, it is no good to you or anyone else if it is difficult to navigate. Placement is an important part of SEO and should not be ignored. The various elements of your site should be placed in such a way that makes them both aesthetically appealing and easy to use. If people have trouble completing a purchase they will not return to look at additional products. This is why site design and usability go hand in hand.

Site hosting is another important aspect of SEO. If you can’t afford to host your site it will not go up. The good news is the prices of hosting has come down quite a bit over the last few years so it shouldn’t be difficult to find a company to do this for you. When choosing a host, you want to select a company who will keep your site up and running as well as provide you with technical support when a problem occurs. The support you receive should be immediate. You don’t want to encounter a problem with the site on Monday and not have it resolved until Friday. This would mean active and potential customers could not access it for five days which could prove to be a monumental disaster where your business is concerned. Regarding SEO, you also would not want people to find your site through search engines only to find it unavailable when they click on the link to go there. If this happens, many users would deem it out of action and would not be likely to try again.

Creating a unique site that will sell your business is important, but SEO should not be ignored. The content is just as important as the appearance because it is the main aspect that the search engines pay attention to when ranking each page. The more smoothly the site is running, the more time you will have to pay attention to optimising the content and achieving higher rankings.
